Hello. I regularly have to request help from translation admins on meta and commons, either to tag for translation, or to move/delete taggued pages. And sometimes it is not so easy or quick to find someone to help. I am thinking it will save time for all those involved if I actually could do it myself. --Anthere (talk) 13:26, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Anthere: Since you're a sysop, you can add the permission to your account if you're willing to help in the area as per Meta:Translation administrators. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 13:30, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- I read that. But I thought more polite to ask nevertheless... Anthere (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 13:35, 30 August 2021 (UTC).
- @Anthere: Seems you self-added, is it okay we close as self done?Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:14, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- It is pretty annoying to see bad translate-markup by admins who have self-granted themselves. So I appreciate your approach, Anthere.
- I have reviewed your internationalization work on August, 30th and it has several issues complying internationalization guidelines:
- Translate tags should be, as far as possible, on their own line (the full line would be removed by Translate pre-parsing), this is especially true around headings.
- Translate tag should not be closed after each paragraph: an empty new line automatically generates a new translation unit.
- On the contrary, big paragraphs should be splitted into several units closing translate tag inside them (for example, each list item may be wrapped alone).
- We should include all parts of a sentence inside translate tags: parts which should not be translated should be wrapped inside tvar tags instead of excluding them from translate tags, because their place in the sentence may vary depending on the language.

- I second this, and would like to add that in the case of images, it is much more convenient to translate if only the caption is marked as a unit. ~~~~

- Yes, I am definitly aware I still need to work to improve my markup... I appreciate your comments and will try to implement. Perhaps I will contact you the next time I do significant markup on a page to get your feedback for improvement ! thank Anthere (talk) 10:35, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
