attacking and harassment

User:Bellavista1957 accused me of being a member of those attackers on the British Embassy in Tehran and being connected to Basij militia forces here that is completely unacceptable. Furthermore, It can be implied that he accused me of being hostile towards Israeli people. Recently, on Persian Wikipedia a user was blocked indefinitely for accusing User:Mardetanha of being connected (now oversighted) to Islamic Republic forces. I want you, admins, to take the appropriate action for Bellavista1957's harassment and attacks. Thanks Americophile 19:57, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

It doesn't look like either of you have been behaving nicely, especially towards each other, and for the protection of meta, it may be wisest and easiest to block you both. It would make our job easier but it won't solve the problem that you both need to learn some tolerance, and sometimes just say meh! when some makes outlandish accusations,. Move on, do something positive on a wiki somewhere, as I am sure that you came here to do good, improve the wiki, rather than in heated debate. Remember it takes two to argue, and arguments just turn nasty with no winners.billinghurst sDrewth 13:19, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
I just answered here, as to my mind this issue is not related with meta sysops or crats. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 14:54, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Set Special:AbuseFilter/39 to disallow page creations

Hi all,

So a few months ago I got Special:AbuseFilter/39 created to tag pages that potentially break the Meta:Inclusion policy. From the abuse log of the last 500 actions, you can see that there are only a few edits that were actually viable edits, the rest of the pages are red links as they have either not been created, or most likely - been deleted. Therefore, I propose that we set this filter to Disallow the edit, as well as warn the user.

Please leave comments below.

Thanks,

Per discussion on IRC with PeterSymonds and Vito, I have instead opted to change the warning message instead, as per this edit. If anyone is make to make MediaWiki:Abusefilter-warning-newpage look visually better, please feel free. The Helpful One 16:42, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Translation admins user right

Hi all, I've posted a discussion thread at Meta:Babel#Translation admins user right and request your input there. The Helpful One 00:08, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Project portals

I ask Meta sysops to keep an eye on projects portals: looks like Mxn is only taking care of Wiktionary and Wikipedia and the others are basically abandoned, we'd need a maintainer for all of them or otherwise we need to check them collectively as we remember. Look for instance at the issues highlighted by Krinkle on Talk:Www.wikiquote.org_template#1.18_update, where he suggests fixes which probably apply to other portals as well. Bracing for Blackout

Hi, I recently discovered that some of the core images used in the Blackout banners were not protected. Could I please ask that someone check that the core text/code of https://test.wikipedia.org/?banner=blackout, and especially its en.wp equivalent (I'm afraid I don't know where the page is), is fully protected? It would be embarrassing if someone vandalised a Meta page and the whole thing got vandalised. Thanks. It Is Me Here t / c 23:13, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Special:RecentChanges going crazy for a while

Due to the English Wikipedia blackout Meta is getting floods of edits mostly on English Wikipedia SOPA blackout/Congress data, so RecentChanges will be crazy for at least the duration of the blackout. On a personal level and with all due respect I'd loved a message on this board from the people tasked with this with a warning that this will be happening, so we could have more eyes. Thanks. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 05:38, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

block request

Hi could somebody please block this user, and maybe oversight its silliness? Thanks.--Mbz1 01:01, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
