@ZI Jony, you have readers in ja pretty soon (:. BTW, as I put a new thread, how can we introduce Wiki_Education_Foundation itself to local users? We have many teachers/instructors/professors on jawp, and they are not connected to yet, I am afraid.
Would you kindly discuss which basic pages needs to be put into ja, then advanced/Grants or any project for furtherment one can follow later?
Cheers, -- Omotecho (talk) 04:27, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

Archive sites

Hello. I always archive the webpages am using as references and add the archive url to the reference. But, what if the archive site closes and archived content is no longer available? If the original urls are dead, then the source will be useless. Do Wikimedia has a solution about that problem? Philocypros (talk) 22:35, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

tweek request: Wiki_Education_Foundation

Would somebody tweek the page "Wiki_Education_Foundation" for translation please? As you see on its talk_page, consensus is granted. Cheers, -- Omotecho (talk) 04:22, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

How do I ask for additional grants for an existing oauth consumer?

I want to ask for new grants here

https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:OAuthListConsumers/view/41c540d87926d735ef597a0466ed63c3

I want to ask for page creation, as file upload also needs page creation grants. (As "documented" here - https://stackoverflow.com/questions/69679174/which-permissions-are-needed-to-upload-files-with-mediawiki-api ) Running (talk) 12:34, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

Well I added a new version here
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:OAuthListConsumers/view/730d8ec6b55620dbf3d7090ca45146c6
That should work Running (talk) 13:58, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
That's pretty much how, we don't have a way of modifying consumers currently. Tgr (WMF) (talk) 23:17, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

Trying to find research project that crowd sourced non-Editors to cross check a page edit/notability

HI, I am looking for a research project that crowd sourced non-Editors as a cross check so that. It wasn't a hot or not, but a choice was made. I am interested because it could be extended to get non-editors involved in editing tasks (spelling, grammar, stub reference selection) without knowing the full details of editing and WIkipeia exotica. Vote for Election Compass Statements

You can find this message translated into additional languages on Meta-wiki.

Hi all,

Volunteers in the 2022 Board of Trustees election are invited to vote for statements to use in the Election Compass. You can vote for the statements you would like to see included in the Election Compass on Meta-wiki.

An Election Compass is a tool to help voters select the candidates that best align with their beliefs and views. The community members will propose statements for the candidates to answer using a Lickert scale (agree/neutral/disagree). The candidates’ answers to the statements will be loaded into the Election Compass tool. Voters will use the tool by entering in their answer to the statements (agree/disagree/neutral). The results will show the candidates that best align with the voter’s beliefs and views.

Here is the timeline for the Election Compass:

  • July 8 - 20: Volunteers propose statements for the Election Compass
  • July 21 - 22: Elections Committee reviews statements for clarity and removes off-topic statements
  • July 23 - August 3: Volunteers vote on the statements
  • August 4 - 5: Elections Committee selects the top 15 statements
  • August 5 - 12: candidates align themselves with the statements
  • August 15: The Election Compass opens for voters to use to help guide their voting decision

The Elections Committee will select the top 15 statements at the beginning of August

Best,

Movement Strategy and Governance

Is it possible to translate this system message? (something like MediaWiki:Rightslogtext/zh for Chinese users, for example) —— Eric LiuTalk 07:12, 12 July 2022 (UTC)

Oh I see the subpage now (not in the info, quite confusing), it is indeed possible, lol. So how could I edit the content of the translation page? —— Eric LiuTalk 07:15, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
You can create an edit request at MediaWiki talk:Rightslogtext/zh. — xaosflux Talk 13:53, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
@Ericliu1912 If needed, leave me a message on my talkpage and I will help to copy over the translation. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 06:55, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
Done the translation per request, pending copy-edit and then it will be transferred over. Seems section resolved. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 07:08, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
