Endorsement from James Rhoda (talk) edit

This project not only aims to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in Africa but also addresses the gender gap in information representation. By focusing on enhancing the visibility of African women on Wikipedia and Wikidata. It's important to acknowledge and elevate the voices of women on International Women's Day. Through the programme, African women's accomplishments in a variety of fields will be more accurately represented by supporting the creation and improvement of Wikipedia entries and Wikidata items about them. Furthermore, by enabling women to actively participate in the creation of historical narratives, this programme supports the larger objectives of gender equality and empowerment.   Strong support James Rhoda (talk) 12:53, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

As an advisor and coordinator on this project, I fully endorse the Africa Wiki Women — International Women Day 2024 proposal. This initiative is a significant stride toward addressing the content gender gap and enhancing the representation and participation of African women in the Wikimedia movement. By focusing on strategic recruitment, training, and content creation, the project is poised to make a substantial impact on gender-related issues and digital literacy in the region. The comprehensive approach, inclusive community-building activities, and well-defined metrics underscore the potential for sustainable progress. The gender difference that existed on Wikipedia is very wide. This gap not only existed in the content but also with the volunteers. This project is a very good development as it will help to curate more articles about women. And as a reviewer, I will be there to provide guidance on the notabilities and other things that will ensure the success of the project. Ibjaja055 (talk) 18:19, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I strongly support this project as it will help to bridge the critical gender gap in online knowledge representation by focusing on ensuring that the narratives of remarkable women throughout history are not lost, but amplified for generations to come. This is a good initiative. This proposal is inline with the theme of International Women’s Day 2024, "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," and endeavors to tackle critical issues impacting gender equality in Africa. The primary focus is on highlighting the valuable contributions of African female Wikimedians, actively advocating for and bolstering gender equality within the digital realm. The campaign's objective is to augment existing articles pertaining to women on Wikipedia and Wikidata, rectifying omissions or insufficient coverage of African narratives. In doing so, it aspires to foster a more comprehensive and precise representation of women's contributions and experiences, effectively addressing prevalent content gaps. Thereby I   Strong support
