- Recruit 10 new editors.
- Train participants on how to run query and retrieving Wikidata items using SPARQL service.
- Create Wikidata items using tools such as Quickstaments, Depictor and Close to me.
- Translate Wikipedia articles and link them to Wikidata items using databox and the bio templates.
Project Plan

editTell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing?
Day 1. Participants will be introduced to Wikimedia projects such as Wikipedia and WikiCommons. We will organise a practical session for participants to contribute to Wikipedia using translation tools and adding media files to WikiCommons.
Day 2. We will invite experienced Wikidata contributors to train participants on how to contribute to Wikidata using Quickstatements, the Depictor and the close to me tool to enhance data quality. The participants will also link wikipedia articles to Wikidata items using databox and the bio templates.
How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)?
- Wikimedia User Group Nigeria
- African Wikimedians Telegram group
- African Wikimedian developers WhatsApp group
- other developers and designers networks within Kwara State through partnership and social media promotions such Makers and leaders Hub, creaton among others.
Why are you targeting a specific audience?
- Because this project limited to Wikimedian developers and designers.
What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?
- By the end of the session;
- The participants from the hackathon will automatically become members of the Wikimedia Nigeria community.
- Translate Wikipedia articles and link them to Wikidata items using databox and the bio templates.
- Participants will also be able to run Train participants on how to run query using SPARQL; use the Quikstatement, the Depictor and the close to me tool to do mass edits of wikidata items.
- After the hackathon we will conduct a survey to determine the challenges of Participants with regards to contributing to wikidata using these tools.

- Bukky658 (coordinator & facilitator ) : A member of the African Wikimedia Developer, Project Lead for 1Lib1Ref 2022, Wikidata for Nigerian Libraries and notable Librarians, WikiGLAM Awareness for Librarians in Kwara, a fellow of the WikiAFlib Cohort 1, certified trainer of the reading Wikipedia in the classroom among others.I will coordinate the entire project.

- Space rent for two days: $150 x 2 = $300
- light refreshments and Lunch: $10 x 25 participants x (2 days) = $500
- Projector rental for 2days= $20
- Camera Rental for 2days= $72
- Internet: $100 x 2days = $200
- Logistics, communications, social media promotion, and Social media admin cost = $200
- Hackathon artwork and stickers = $100
- Scholarships for particpants (for data and childcare) $50 x 25 = $1250
- Hackathon T-shirts (for event promotion and branding): $10 x 4 facilitators = $40
- Covid-19 safety supplies (sanitizers, masks) for 29 for participants and facilitators = $25
- Contingency: $100
