Problem: Currently, the toolbar is designed for long-form prose, which makes sense for Wikipedia but not for Wikiquote, where the bulk of any page is a list of quotes.
Who would benefit: Editors, especially (but not only) new ones.
Proposed solution: Add a button to the toolbar to add a new quote to the page, similar to the current Cite button for references. It should be customizable, since each Wikiquote community has its own formatting standards (for example, ca.wikiquote has different templates for different kinds of quote).
More comments: A new feature to add templates within templates using the Visual Editor should be considered as part of this proposal as well. Right now, adding formatted references inside template-formatted quotes required wikitext knowledge, even using the Visual Editor.
Is this only a proposal for the templated Wikiquotes, like the French Wikiquote where every quotation is wrapped in a template? Nemo23:35, 29 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
