What is the purpose of the campaign? How will you measure the success of the campaign?
editWiki Loves Folklore, an annual international photography contest hosted on Wikimedia Commons from February 1st to March 31st, serves as a global initiative to amass a diverse collection of media. The primary objective is to contribute content to Wikipedia and other online platforms, all under free licenses. The contest focuses on capturing and showcasing unique images that represent and document the intangible cultural heritage of various communities worldwide.
Structured with both national coordinators and an International Team, the campaign ensures comprehensive coverage. National coordinators, responsible for organizing Wiki Loves Folklore within their respective countries, play a vital role in fostering local participation. Simultaneously, the International Team steps in to organize the contest in countries lacking designated national coordinators, thereby addressing the representation gap within the Wikimedia ecosystem.
What banner(s) will you use? What will be your landing page?

Discussion
editProject Korikath is planning to arrange c:Commons:Wiki Loves Folklore 2024 in Bangladesh and we are also planning to submit a central notice request that will cover all wikimedia projects, languages, both logged in and anonymous users and users visiting from Bangladesh. The timeline is the same as the international WLF central notice timeline. Should I request for a separate central notice or it can be somehow coordinated with this one? -- BIDROHI Hello.. 10:24, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
- Mrb Rafi, if it is the same project then yes you should coordinate it here, so we can coordinate having your banner for users from Bangladesh, and the main banner for other users. Vermont (🐿️—🏳️🌈) 01:05, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
- Actually...it seems there were some issues with country-specific requests previously. Ping DerHexer, who handled it last year; are you okay setting this up like last year's? Vermont (🐿️—🏳️🌈) 01:09, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

edit- @Tiven2240 and Mrb Rafi: I've created the following campaigns:
- country campaign, banner and preview (including Italian specifications)
- global campaign, banner and preview
- Bangladesh campaign, banner and preview
- Brazil campaign, banner, preview
- SW Nigeria campaign, banner, preview
- Please check everything. If you have a 2024 logo, I can also add that to the campaign(s). If you have separate landing pages for Wikipedia language editions, I can add these links to the country campaign. If other countries want to have their own campaigns, I personally prefer separate requests. But we can also collect them here as suggested by Vermont. - Thanks, @DerHexer, looks good to me so far. Will let you know if anything arrives. -- BIDROHI Hello.. 18:04, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Tiven2240: Still waiting for your approval before I can enable the campaign. ;) —DerHexer (Talk) 10:55, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @DerHexer looks great. Thank you very much. We are good to go --Tiven2240 (talk) 14:47, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- All three enabled. —DerHexer (Talk) 14:49, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- @DerHexer Sorry for the late request, but would be possible to add the landing page ([1]) of the campaign in Portuguese Wikipedia in the Brazil bit of the country campaign? Cheers, EPorto (WMB) (talk) 17:24, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- @EPorto (WMB): In the country campaign, I can only set a landing page for an entire Wikipedia (e. g., ptwiki). For the combination of language (pt) and country (Brazil) a separate campaign is needed. I can create such campaign, though. What do you think? Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 19:08, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- @DerHexer I think that will work, because Portugal and the other lusophone countries do not have an organizational team regarding this contest. Ultimately, if one team appears, we can set a landing page for all the lusophone communities, as there is for WLM. Cheers, EPorto (WMB) (talk) 19:48, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- @EPorto (WMB): I'm not sure how to proceed. Do you mean that you will create a landingpage on ptwiki for all countries, not only Brazil? Or do you want me to create the campaign for ptwiki & Brazil? I can do both, but I need to know what's correct. ;) Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 20:32, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, @DerHexer, I misunderstood. If you can, please create the campaign for Portuguese and Brazil.
- And, if is not much trouble to ask, we have a personalized logo, if you could use it in this campaign: WLC Brasil 2024 - logo horizontal.svg.
- Thank you so much! EPorto (WMB) (talk) 23:03, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- @DerHexer Sorry to bother you, but did you created the banner? The banner on ptwiki is redirecting to Wikimedia Commons contest page, and that is detrimental to our campaign, as we have localized everything. Can you take a look into this, please? Thank you, EPorto (WMB) (talk) 17:28, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

- @EPorto (WMB): Well, for that reason we ask people to submit their campaign requests ten days in advance. ;D Sometimes we have full days and not enough time to work on such sensitive things like JavaScript/CSS-based campaigns which can cause lots of trouble. I've removed Brazil from the country campaign and created its own campaign and banner, as proposed. Please check the settings and take a look at the preview. Ping me if everything is alright so that I can enable the campaign in Brazil/ptwiki. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 19:46, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- Everything is good! Thank you for your work and sorry for the confusion. It won't happen again! Cheers, EPorto (WMB) (talk) 16:05, 5 February 2024 (UTC)

- @DerHexer: similar comment as last year, I ask not do repetitive cycles of banners for countries that do not even participate. Imho raising awareness for the competition is one thing, and can be done with one round: several rounds will create too much annoyance. Ciell (talk) 11:54, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Ciell: I've changed it accordingly. —DerHexer (Talk) 19:34, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

- Hello @DerHexer, I have a similar request here. It is possible to have the landing page in Italian on the local contest in Commons (or in alternative on itwiki)? We also have a personalized logo here. Thank you, --Camelia (talk) 09:42, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Camelia.boban: I've added the commons landing page for itwiki, but I wouldn't use the logo because it's in upright and not landscape format. It would be much too small in the current banner design. If you provide a landscape version, I can try to get it into the banner source code. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 19:32, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Here is the horizontal logo for WLFolk Italy @DerHexer, made by Tiven. Thank you both. Camelia (talk) 12:37, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Camelia.boban: It should be working, please check and let me know. —DerHexer (Talk) 18:48, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you @DerHexer: to do it so quickly and on the weekend. Now I can see the new logo and the correct link to Commons, only the text is still in English. If you need th Italian translation, is this one: "Fotografa la cultura locale, aiuta Wikipedia e vinci!". --Camelia (talk) 19:01, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- I don't know how translations are working in this kind of banner. It's not using the regular translation extension but the MediaWiki namespace. I don't know how to fix it, sorry. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 19:06, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

- Hello @DerHexer:, we have a separate campaign for South-West Nigeria. Can we have the banner enable there? See our landing page here. Thank you. T CellsTalk 10:35, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
- @T Cells: Late requests are always nice. =( I've created the campaign (although I first had to figure out the provinces of SW Nigeria …) and banner. Please check these and have a look at the preview. Ping me for approval so that I can enable the campaign. You should also enable translation for your landing page, usually we only activate campaigns when for all targeted languages banner and landing page are translated. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 11:44, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, @DerHexer:. I apologise for not listing the south-west states of Nigeria, and I am glad you found them. Please enable the banner now. I have asked a translation admin to mark the page for translation as well. T CellsTalk 14:44, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

Comment Just an idea, but maybe the WLF team can benefit from having someone with the appropriate user-rights on the team that handles the CN banners. Because all this kind of country- and language specific coordination could (imho: should) all have been done before a campaign goes live. Please consider this as a suggestion for improvement for WLF 2025. Ciell (talk) 10:47, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you @Ciell for your suggestions. Our teammate @Nokib Sarkar would be the best candidate as he is more into the banners and technical stuffs. --Tiven2240 (talk) 16:59, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Nokib Sarkar: here is more information about the rules of procedure for CN adminschip. Looking forward to read the application. Ciell (talk) 17:21, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Ciell and Tiven2240, Thank you very much. I would go through the rules and you would see my application soon. Nokib Sarkar (talk) 17:48, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
