Minor question

Is there a page somewhere- maybe here, maybe on governance wiki- that provides a log of past office actions made by the WMF? Edward-Woodrow (talk) 12:05, 7 July 2023 (UTC)

@Edward-Woodrow nothing complete and authoritative that I'm aware of. You can follow up on this at foundation:Policy talk:Office actions. — xaosflux Talk 12:20, 7 July 2023 (UTC)

Fa.wikipedia.org

Fawiki status is become worse need admin review, the wiki's always been like any site/forum Islamic republic. not of our world

Stewards are well worse than sysops

Long story short it is like Iranian government compromised version of wild west Baratiiman (talk) 05:32, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

I'm sad to hear that. Since I do not speak the language I can't help but from what I have seen the admins seems to be nice. I have tried to make sure all files have a license but the progress is slow. Right now there are 1110 files that most likely do not have a license fa:کاربر:MGA73/NoLicense. But the same problem exist on many wikis.
I think for a review some examples would be needed. And if possible a link to a local discussion where the problem was tried to be resolved. --MGA73 (talk) 08:17, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
There is an open topic since november 2022 in teahouse https://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%88%DB%8C%DA%A9%DB%8C%E2%80%8C%D9%BE%D8%AF%DB%8C%D8%A7:%D9%82%D9%87%D9%88%D9%87%E2%80%8C%D8%AE%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%87/%D8%A7%D8%AC%D8%B1%D8%A7%DB%8C%DB%8C#%D9%88%D8%B6%D8%B9%DB%8C%D8%AA_%D9%87%DB%8C%D8%A6%D8%AA_%D9%86%D8%B8%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%AA https://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%88%DB%8C%DA%A9%DB%8C%E2%80%8C%D9%BE%D8%AF%DB%8C%D8%A7:%D9%86%D8%B8%D8%B1%D8%AE%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%87%DB%8C/%D8%AA%D8%B9%D9%84%DB%8C%D9%82_%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%A6%D9%85_%D9%87%DB%8C%D8%A6%D8%AA_%D9%86%D8%B8%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%AA Baratiiman (talk) 11:54, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

API deprecation

I'm curious as to why WIKI has messed with their API thereby breaking the 'Redactle-Unlimited' game for millions of people around the world? I'm not sure if this is the place for this but...? Beccib23 (talk) 01:13, 7 July 2023 (UTC)

@Beccib23 It looks like this has been fixed by the creator. —‍Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 02:52, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
As a semantic thing, "wiki" is just a collection of documents that are editable. I only mention this because if you confuse "wiki" with Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation, you'll eventually get some answers that are confusing or that don't address your questions. —Justin (koavf)TCM 03:51, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply, it is back but still has some kinks. Also, I meant Wikipedia when I used 'wiki' I didn't know that there is a difference? Beccib23 (talk) 21:21, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
Totally understandable. Wikiepdia is one example of a wiki. For instance, this is a different wiki that we are on now: Meta-Wiki. See w:en:wiki for more. This is not necessarily the best place to get feedback on API issues, but I'm not sure what the ideal venue is. We have phab: for bugs and requests and there's also a dedicated wiki just for MediaWiki software, which is also an option. I hope you have good luck on figuring out the issues. —Justin (koavf)TCM 22:04, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
Hi there,
I understand your frustration. The Wikimedia Foundation recently made some changes to their API, which unfortunately broke the Redactle-Unlimited game. The foundation has said they are working on a fix, but it's unclear when it will be available.
Meanwhile, there are some other games you can play that are similar to Redactle-Unlimited. One option is to try the original Radical game, which is still available. Another option is to try the game Quordle, a word guessing game similar to Wordle. Waqarmir12 (talk) 07:26, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

CentralNotice

Hi,
Where can CentralNotice be tested online? What to do for that? Thanks. ―Eihel (talk) 10:29, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

@Eihel in production we sometimes test by assigning a campaign to only a closed wiki. — xaosflux Talk 16:05, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

This will be a place to backup severely and hard-to-reversely vandalized pages from other wikis. Faster than Thunder (talk) 07:07, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

fa.wiktionary.org

wikitionary farsi has 0 present admins and 400 of page delete requests. Baratiiman (talk) 13:40, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

@Baratiiman: You don't have a true, admin list and You look Administrators' noticeboard. Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 18:08, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
they were talking about fawiktionary not fawikipedia, there is indeed no active sysop at fawiktionary [1] and a long backlog of deletion requests [2] Johannnes89 (talk) 09:56, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
