Wiki pour les Minorités (WfMin) est une initiative qui s'inscrit dans le cadre d'un travail collaboratif pour la protection des droits culturels, la préservation et la diffusion des expressions du patrimoine culturel matériel et immatériel des minorités culturelles patrimoine culturel et des minorités subdivisées en trois grands groupes groupes minoritaires : les minorités nationales ou ethniques, religieuses et sexuelles (LGBT), les personnes atteintes de handicap, etc. Ces minorités comprennent également les droits linguistiques et peuvent être des minorités autochtones ou des minorités migrantes. Approche

Historiquement, dans certains lieux et à certaines époques, les minorités ont souffert, pour différentes raisons, de persécution, marginalisation et d'invisibilité de la part des groupes qui concentrent le pouvoir politique et économique. Ces persécutions vont des restrictions à la liberté d'expression et de culte des groupes minoritaires, à l'interdiction faite aux groupes minoritaires de pratiquer librement certaines de leurs traditions qui ne portent pas préjudice au reste des habitants d'un pays ou d'un territoire, en passant par la ségrégation et les génocides où des groupes entiers ont été exécutés et ont disparu simplement parce qu'ils étaient ce qu'ils étaient.

Diverses organisations internationales travaillent sur ces questions, telles que l'UNESCO, l'organisation qui a établi la Déclaration universelle sur la diversité culturelle, ainsi que les Nations Unies, qui ont institué le 21 mai comme la "Journée mondiale de la diversité culturelle pour le dialogue et le développement", entre autres initiatives ; ainsi que le Conseil des droits de l'homme des Nations unies, qui établit [1 $ d'activités spécifiques pour travailler avec les minorités].

Le mouvement wiki peut contribuer de diverses manières à la réalisation de nos objectifs, à savoir des sociétés plus équitables et plus inclusives qui acceptent la diversité culturelle comme un élément enrichissant. Pour un tel travail, des concepts tels que l'intégration sociale, la diversité, la tolérance et le dialogue interculturel doivent être des principes de base.

Nous pouvons diviser notre travail en trois activités:

  • Visites d'utilisateurs à des organisations qui promeuvent et préservent le contenu sur les minorités et qui sont en faveur de la connaissance libre, par exemple certaines institutions GLAM ;
  • Des Edit-a-thons et des Hackathons pour promouvoir le contenu sur les minorités dans les différents wikis ;
  • Un concours international de photo et l'organisation d'activités avec des groupes d'utilisateurs et des sections intéressés à participer à la prise et au téléchargement de photos et de contenus multimédias sur les minorités locales dans leur contexte, tels que des promenades photographiques.

Pourquoi s'impliquer dans WfMin ?

  • Il s'agit d'un projet conçu au niveau mondial avec des activités dynamiques, qui peuvent être reproduites dans chaque réalité régionale/nationale et dans chaque contexte spécifique. En d'autres termes, vous pouvez contribuer au contenu au niveau local, mais aussi au niveau régional ou mondial sans distinction.
  • La polyvalence des activités mentionnées dans les différents projets Wikimédia permet à l'utilisateur de travailler dans son domaine d'intérêt, en fonction de ses propres possibilités et en gérant son propre temps. Les utilisateurs peuvent participer à une ou plusieurs activités sans limites ou en proposer une nouvelle. Les activités peuvent être réalisées par un ou plusieurs utilisateurs, sans qu'il soit nécessaire de réunir un grand nombre d'utilisateurs pour ce faire. La motivation et la persévérance sont la clé et nous ne voulons pas que la flamme s'éteigne en faveur de la connaissance libre.
  • Les thèmes abordés correspondent à ce que nous considérons comme urgent dans le cadre du travail avec les minorités et il est intéressant de noter que nombre d'entre eux se recoupent et donnent aux utilisateurs la liberté de choisir leurs propres thèmes de travail sans sortir de notre cadre et de notre champ d'application.

Les groupes de travail sont des initiatives créées par les utilisateurs membres du projet, dans le cadre des sujets sur lesquels nous travaillons. Tout utilisateur est libre de rejoindre l'un des groupes de travail, sans aucune restriction. Tout le monde peut créer un groupe de travail et les nouvelles idées, la créativité et l'enthousiasme de tous les utilisateurs sont toujours les bienvenus.
