@Minorax sorry for the trouble again.

I realized that late, after the 14th march, that such simple changes shouldn't be marked as outdated, thats why I made the mistake there. I wrongly thought, changing a link wouln't be a "simple" edit. Generally thought, it would be enove as a TA to have a good understanding on how translate-syntax work, and now the outdated-marks are the problem, wow. Didn't expect this to be honest. My fault.

I am sure I understand it now, but it could be helpful to specify such things on mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Page_translation_administration or Meta:Translate_extension for other new TAs to avoid the the same mistake.

English Wikinews

I have been deeply involved at English WN for well over 10 years. I retired last year, but have decided to return for a bit....as the project has just largely disintegrated. Any chance you might like to become involved there some?--Bddpaux (talk) 21:25, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

I only do content work on german language projects, and mainly on de.wikipedia. Beside that it's sad to see many sisterprojects (wikinews, wikiquote, ...) becoming inactive :(

Hi TenWhile6, this change doesn't seem very appropriate. It is useless for the reason that is supporting it, and creates a confusing naming convention. Suggest this be re-redone to a Renamed user (random string) syntax. Am I missing some special situation? — xaosflux ^Talk 18:30, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

Wie geht es weiter?

Hallo Ten, erst einmal: herzlichen Dank, dass du mich teilentsperrt hast und ich mich zumindest auf Meta wieder ein wenig bewegen kann. Ein Glück wusste ich seid eurem Vortrag in Wiesbaden ja zumindest ganz grob Bescheid, dass da einiges auf internationaler Ebene geregelt wird. Hast du denn einen Rat, was ich tun kann, um auch auf wikipedia.de wieder ein wenig Normalität zurückzugewinnen? (Eine Email an stewards@wikimedia.org würde ja bedeuten, noch mehr Menschen auf die Nerven zu gehen, das mache ich daher nur, wenn es nicht anders geht...) gerne doch.

Du kannst probieren, eine globale IP-Sperren-Ausnahme von den Stewards zu erhalten. HIER. Das hilft dir, wenn die IP-Adressen global gesperrt sind. Ich kann dir aber nicht garantieren, dass die Stewards dir das Flag geben werden, schließlich ist das Editieren via VPN/Proxys grundsätzlich nicht erwünscht.

Wenn du deinen VPN ausgeschaltet hast (wie du auf deiner Benutzerdiskussionsseite schriebst), solltest du aber eigentlich überall wieder problemlos editieren können, auch auf dewiki, also der deutschsprachigen Wikipedia.

Llydia, ja, irgendwie ist es schon spannend, mit einer "persönlich bekannten" Wiki-Kollegin zu schreiben :-)

Das Ding ist folgendes: grundsätzlich habe ich die nötigen Berechtigungen (Admin), um dir auch eine IP-Sperren-Ausnahme auf dewiki zu erteilen. Das mache ich aber grundsätzlich nur, wenn jemand wegen Bahnfahrten etc. in lokale oder globale Sperren gerät, nicht, wenn jemand ein VPN nutzt. Das würde ich hier also auch ungern tun. Die Ausnahme hier im Metawiki ist schon... ne Ausnahme ;-)

Da du dein VPN aber ausgeschaltet hast, sollte dieser ganze Ausnahmenkram auch nicht weiter nötig sein... eigentlich zumindest. Damit ich das Problem besser nachvollziehen kann, magst du mir bitte die Fehlermeldung / Sperrmeldung, die dich beim Editierversuch im dewiki ereilt, einmal schicken? Ich verstehe auch, dass man beim Einschalten von VPN normalerweise gewisse Absichten unterstellen kann - wobei es bei mir einfach Uninformiertheit war (und ich mich jetzt von meiner Tochter dafür auslachen lassen muss...) Eigentlich sollte das Problem behoben sein, wenn du das VPN ausgeschaltet hast (am Besten noch einmal prüfen).

Danke für den Hinweis mit dem Browser, das habe ich nun auch probiert, aber es kommt nichts dabei rum - nur die Nachricht hat sich verändert, auf einmal sind die (immer noch falschen) Daten andere, und die Person, die mich gesperrt hat ist auch eine andere...

Blumen reichen nicht...

...um meine Freude auszudrücken; da müssen es schon Blumen und Schmetterlinge sein. Wie ich mittlerweile herausgefunden habe hatten sich zwei verschiedene Anbieter von Antivirussoftware auf meinem PC bekämpft, so dass ich aktuell keine Ahnung habe, was da eigentlich Sache ist. Für heute lasse ich daher alles ruhen und werde morgen den technischen Kundendienst mit einem entsprechenden Anruf zur Verzweifelung bringen. • none of them was vandalism
• none of them had reason.

If deletion requests don't contain a reason (and the page is not vandalism), my answer would be declining the speedy deletion request and removing the template.

That could be a solution, thats how I would handle it as an administrator.

I have found 4 (four) deletions which was justified, out of zero real vandalism. They have been deleted.

I have asked the one person putting deletion template to all the others, and I really wonder what the answer will be. I am not convinced that an admin shall revoke normal deletions without any community discussion (or, in fact, any community; one-person voting doesn't quite count). In fact you, as a normal user, could very well restore the delete-tagged pages as well, it's not an admin privilege to challenge deletions.

XReport on Urdu Wikiquote

This needed a local exception. I can find a few strings translated now, except the checboxes. Translation of "Reason"/"Enter manual reason", and report on GSR appear in Urdu. Ah, yeah. The deletion reasons are generally not translated, to give everyone the ability to request deletions, not just urdu speaking people. Then the deletion reason also appears in english on metawiki GSR. I hope thats okay? TenWhile6 12:40, 3 November 2024 (UTC)

I just realised that while making SD requests at GSR through your tool, add "_" in all the page names when there's a space in between. Any plans to omit it as it doesn't seem necessary?
