The same range had identical LTA edits on Wikidata, though some edits on ruwiki seem more constructive: https://xtools.wmflabs.org/globalcontribs/ipr-37.147.21.15/22. That does not mean it isn't a proxy though. ~~~~

@DannyS712: The issue this morning was not related. It made a sma configuration change to nginx and, I guess, didn't load the file immediately. In the change, I typo'd and missed it during checks. Where Have I Been?

My dear Wikimedia family... as some of you, no doubt, have noticed, I've been inactive for a few months now. 2021 has hit my family much harder than 2020, sad to say. I've been having to deal with loved ones in the hospital (not COVID) and some other personal events in my life. How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Cross-wiki harassment

Thanks for reaching out to me. The guy has been constantly harassing me cross-wiki (en, it, es, fr, commons, simple...) with various IPs. This isn't the first time the guy harasses someone, as it also happened around a year ago with another user (who felt forced to quit Wikipedia due to this). I've requested a range block here, possibly long term as I don't see him stopping anytime soon (in multiple edit summaries he stressed he would continue until the day he dies). @Nehme1499: I completely understand the frustration. Unfortunately, that is a very large and busy range (/16) and a range block, for now, wouldn't be feasible. I have gblocked the 184 and 189 there were last active and I'm very willing to continue blocking as needed. But like I said, the range may not be possible. @Xiplus: it looks like they were locked as a spambot. It's been a little more than a year ago now so I don't recall specifically. But the date the account was created in connection with the lock type suggests they were using am open proxy that was also abused by spambots. Few days ago I bought a new Sim. I used before GP. Now my new sim is Airtel, I just used same device, But the IP of my new sim 103.25.251.247 has been globally blocked (disabled) by yourself.
