Files in Category:W3C SVG logosEdit
I got a notification from you for c:Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:W3C SVG logos. I can't comment on the DR so I'll do it here. Feel free to link/quote.
There are two things at play here. Trademark law and copyright law. For trademarks see and the "for-profit use requires permission" may or may not refer to this. It doesn't matter though. Commons doesn't care about trademarks. But the W3c document license isn't compatible with Commons either, it's similar to BY-ND.
@JoKalliauer: File:Valid SVG 1.1 (green).svg could be replaced with File:Valid SVG 1.1.svg or File:Valid SVG 1.1 (blue).svg, a derivative of that could be made for File:Invalid SVG 1.1 (red).svg. File:SVG document with logo.svg could be altered to keep it, it's unused though.
Most of the files on Commons seem to be tagged with a Creative Commons BY 2.5 license and I have no idea where that comes from. @17jiangz1: you'll have to discuss the country of origin. According to the design is based on a design by UK artist Harvey Rayner, and UK TOO is terrible. — Alexis Jazz (ping me) 11:11, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
