#WPWPCampaign 2021: Notice of disruptive editing edit

Hello User: Germain 92

Thanks for participating in #WPWPCampaign 2021. It has come to the attention of the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos 2021 international team that you are not complying with the campaign rules and that you are disruptive at different levels including adding images inappropriately to Wikipedia articles, adding images without a good caption and adding images without edit summary. According to the campaign rules, "Hashtag is not a substitute for a descriptive edit summary". You are to add images with good caption in the right position with clear edit summary. Many edito. Please take this as a final warning from the #WPWPCampaign international team. Further disruption will result in your disqualification from the campaign. Regards. Election Compass translation into Kinyarwanda edit

Dear Germain92,

My name is Cornelius, I work for the Wikimedia Foundation within the team called Movement Strategy and Governance. Among other things, I was the one who organized the prototype of the Election Compass for the election of the Movement Charter Drafting Committee. That's the tool which supported community members in getting to know the huge number of candidates running back then, and to see how much you share points of view on Wikimedia topics. You may remember this :)

A great advantage of the tool is that is rather easy to make it multilingual by translating the interface and the content. I remember that you had provided translations of the interface to Kinyarwanda via the table on Meta. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Unfortunately, back then, it came a bit too late and it wasn't complete, so it couldn't be deployed on time for the Election Compass.

As it the tool was perceived as a success, we're now doing a new edition of it focusing on the upcoming elections to the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation. This year's intention is to make the tool available in around 26 languages. Your interface translation of last year could be added now, as the interface stays the same.

But translating the interface is just the first part. The content of the tool consists of the 15 statements (which will be voted on from July 22 until August 1), and then the explanations of the 6 candidates for their positions (deadline for them is August 10). The expected (estimated) word count to be translated is 3900 words.

My question is: Would you like to (and be available) to translate the content for this year's tool to Kinyarwanda? It would be wonderful to provide this tool into your language and make the election more accessible to your community (even if it might be a smaller one).

Let me know what you think and if you available. Ideally rather soon, as the hard deadline for deploying new interface translations is July 22. You can also write me an email to ckibelka-ctr wikimedia.org. Cheers, --Cornelius Kibelka (WMF) (talk to me) 20:22, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
