Would You Consider Supporting My Ban Appeal?
editHi, @Fences and windows: I'm banned from Wikipedia English, and hoping to strike up enough of a community discussion to overturn it. Would you consider participating in that discussion? I made a space for it at my Meta talkpage, here: [1]. Unfortunately, I warn you it is a long read. But I'd also say it's for something important to me. - After reading the background, I don't think I'm in a position to overturn 2 1/2 years of extended discussion by Arbcom and dozens of admins. This is about a block of an account that made only about 200 article edits over two months. I would suggest you either 1) let it go or 2) edit productively on another WMF project for a year, without once editing any part of English Wikipedia in any way, and only then seek an unban on English Wikipedia. - Thanks for responding. I'm not asking you to act unilaterally, but I hope you'd consider supporting my reinstatement as the original block was false (it's simply not true) and abusive (no warning, no discussion, etc.) in the first place. The fact that I've been unable to overturn it is a reflection of a suspicion-based, arrogant, and unaccountable Wikipedia administrative culture in which it's extremely difficult for a common editor without connections of some sort to overturn a block. That I've been fighting it a long time with limited success (Nihjoe unblocked after careful research, but I was quickly reblocked by the WP:AN/ANI regulars) is not indicative of a problem with my case, but rather shows problem of the unfair system I've had to labor under. There're are important contributions I want to make such as to introduce WP:OPTOUT ([2]). Perhaps if you look at that, you'll agree w. its merits and recognize it's uniquely been me trying to move it forward as policy initiative. Colton Cosmic (talk) 21:50, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
