Templates

Hello, why are you creating seemingly useless templates like Template:Eln pnt?  — Mike.lifeguard | ^@en.wb 18:48, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

They are not useless. I have pointed to the documentation in the edit notes, albeit I agree it's very scant and not very to the point. I think I saw some better doco so I'll link that in if I find it again. Anyway, these templates are used by List_of_Wikipedias/sortable to fill in the language name. See Talk:List_of_Wikipedias/sortable for the documentation I have referred to.era 18:53, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

I have already read that. As far as I can tell, there is no mention of the word "template" even - the link is useless. Why are you not using {{#language:fr}} for this function?  — Mike.lifeguard | ^@en.wb 19:04, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

I don't think I am in a position to do a major rafactoring of List of Wikipedias/sortable. I am merely repairing what is broken there. If you think the page should be constructed differently, please bring it up with the current maintainer of the corresponding scripts.

For what it's worth, I added a link to List_of_Wikipedias/sortable/lang/doc to the documentation of the grandparent page's Talk page. Hope that helps clarify the situation a bit.era 19:16, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
