Welcome to Meta! edit

Hello Coolpolitealex, and welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). If you would like, feel free to ask me questions on my talk page. Happy editing! Kylu 11:58, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedia Forum changes edit

While your edits aren't terribly controversial in a sense that you're cleaning up someone else's comments, it'd be a good idea to avoid doing so in the future: A great number of users dislike it when someone changes what they say when it's directly attributed to them.

Generally, a better solution in these cases would be to privately inform the person of such errors, though I will admit that in this case it may well be considered rude, considering the editor in question likely was trying her hardest to avoid such errors!

Anyway, nobody's upset, just a friendly warning that someone might get that way in the future! Have fun editing! Kylu 11:58, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Okay, correction: Someone else took issue with the changes. Kylu 12:03, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
You don't have to avoid Meta at all. It's hardly possible to learn from mistakes if you don't make any, right? Anyway, that's one of the only times you don't want to edit things you see and, really, one of the only times you don't really get any advance warning that you might be stepping on anyone's toes. Anywho, live and learn. Have a nice day! Kylu 16:12, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
