Hosting the Virtual hackathon meetup for Europe/Africa edit

Hi 1Veertje. Thanks for signing up for the L2 Research Hackathon. You're the first to sign up for the virtual meetup for Europe/Africa. I'm contacting you now in hope that you'd be willing to take on the role of "host" for the event. As host you'd need to:

  1. Set an agenda for the meetup
  2. Coordinate attendees and help them connect via IRC (or however you'd prefer to connect)
  3. (optional) Coordinate with other hosts to synchronize via video conference

If you're interested, I'm happy to lend you substantial support. Either way, I'm stoked that you're participating. Thanks! --EpochFail (talk) 14:37, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, maybe it's a bit useless to be my own host. I'll wait to see if anyone else signs up. --Vera (talk) 11:59, 24 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
I will probably go to my college's reunion in the afternoon so will be useless as a host. --Vera (talk) 20:33, 5 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your signature edit

Hello! I saw with this edit you are using a template for your signature. This is not good because first of all, using a non-standard format means bots may not be able to parse it. More importantly, if you use a template it is vulnerable to vandalism. E.g. one could put something offensive in User:1Veertje/h and it would show up everywhere you've signed! You could substitute the template when signing (as with {{subst:User:1Veertje/h}}), but still someone could vandalize User:1Veertje/h without you knowing and it would show up. For this reason it is best to put your full signature directly in Special:Preferences.

This issue is not well-documented here on Meta, but you can read more about it on enwiki at w:en:WP:SIG#NoTemplates.

Just a friendly suggestion :) Best — MusikAnimal talk 17:05, 19 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Unrelated... I just realized that we have met before! It was at Wikimania in Montreal, I believe? I was the tall guy with the upper arm tattoo. Sorry I don't have any photos of me, if you were curious. Anyway it is nice to talk to you again! :) — MusikAnimal talk 23:51, 19 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I'm sorry I can't quite place you. There are a lot of people at Wikimania   --Vera (talk) 09:33, 20 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

The Community Wishlist Survey edit

Hi,

You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.

You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:24, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

[Small wiki toolkits] Final feedback survey edit

Hello! You are receiving this message as you have attended a small wiki toolkit workshop this year. If you missed attending our last feedback session on the small wiki toolkits workshops, here is a short survey that you could fill out to let us know your technical learning needs and ideas and suggestions for improving the workshop format for the next year. If you attended the feedback session, you can still fill out the survey to share ideas that you couldn't do so more anonymously during our meeting last week. We look forward to learning from your suggestions and including them in the planning for next year. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeVhqgZYXQG8Fgw25xRS0n7eKMleOKy5i1tM5Ty3mGACtcTag/viewform.
