Language format code

I've been reading the Cantonese translation of this news item and realised that the date formatting code used by #time is wrong. Where do I edit that? Deryck C. 16:19, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

• Further info - the date format string currently defaults to "j xg". It should be "n月j號". Deryck C. 16:23, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

• j xg is always the default. You need to change it manually every times when translating the tech news, see for example Finnish translation, j xg is replaced by j. F"ta". Stryn (talk) 16:56, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

One of the question is is that any way to modify the variable $format_language_code per language? If this one can be changed it can make that as the template value of the particular language code for that. Shinjiman (talk) 07:30, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
