Please list ba.wikipediaEdit

Now the 'crats of ba.wikipedia can remove sysop rights, see bugzilla:33769 Comp1089 06:18, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

RemarkedEdit

If you're wondering why I remarked the page after adding some spaces, it was because the "See also" hatnote on the Italian version wasn't working correctly. Removing FUZZY from the translations fixed it, so my space-adding was unneeded. Sorry. πr2 (t • c) 15:53, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

incomplete?Edit

this page should also show the process of how someone becomes a bureaucrat correct? Billycop32 (talk) 08:35, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

It could, but it's basically the same as the way someone gets any other right. Also, it varies by which wiki we are discussing:
  1. A trusted user who is (probably) already an admin makes a request to become a bureaucrat.
  2. The local community discusses the request.
  3. If consensus to promote is reached, then a the situation will be handled in one of the following ways:
If there are already local bureaucrats, and they can grant bureaucrat access, then one of them promotes the user.
If no local user can promote the user to 'crat, then someone requests it on SRP, linking to the local consensus.

Something went wrongEdit

@Iliev: Are Bureaucrat themselves can remove their own permissions (include Bureaucrat)? Bill Cipher, Stan, Twins, Dipper - Gravity falls and J.Smile 13:08, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

No, bureaucrats in the normal setup cannot remove either sysop or bureaucrat status once granted. On some wikis listed in the main page they may be able to remove those, but that is the exception. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 13:11, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Return to "Bureaucrat" page.
