Hello everybody. I'm Pmlineditor (formerly Pmlinediter), and I wish to nominate myself for adminship on meta. About me: I'm a global rollbacker and sysop on Simple Wikipedia and Simple Wiktionary. This is not my first request, and thus, I wish to explain why I believe that I'm ready now as the community believed I wasn't ready back then.
The primary concern was that I was not very active in admin related work and the majority of my edits comprised archiving, welcomes etc. After nearly 3 months, I feel that these issues have been addressed. I am quite active now, and I have over 100 SD tags and have also closed multiple COIBot spam reports. I believe that as an administrator, I can help in maintenance work and also lend a hand in the global blacklisting. I can help putting up CentralNotices and also updating the templates for Wiktionary, Wikiquote etc.
The second issue was that I ran RfXs at short intervals. I wish to clarify that if I ever ran an RfA, it was only because I felt that I could assist the project by becoming an admin. I have never got sysop on a wiki and disappeared; I have logged actions in all projects where I am/was a sysop.
I think I'm active enough to get the tools. Of course, sysop tools aren't a "reward" for activity. I'm running this RfA primarily because I feel that if I do become a sysop, I can assist the other sysops as well as the community, and because I feel I'm ready. It is not because some time has passed and I have made some edits that I'm running this RfA.
Thank you for your consideration. Pmlineditor ∞ 10:32, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment First RfA (just a service link). -Barras talk 10:49, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Support - I thought about asking you if you wish to be nominated here, but couldn't find the time. I think you will do a good job here. -Barras talk 10:49, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose for now - insufficient experience - simple sysop doesn't cut it for me. John Vandenberg 11:36, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Just want to know: is it because I have sysop on that particular wiki or because I do not have sysop or other rights on any other wiki? Regards, Pmlineditor ∞ 11:37, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- It seems that you use different standards as you supported Jamesofur's request here on meta. He's also just a simplewiki sysop (and cu). Just for your interest, Pmline has the mop on simple for a longer time than James. -Barras talk 11:49, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I can see where you are coming from, however my vote isn't simply about the simple sysop-hood. I am well aware that my support for Jamesofur is a bit at odds with my oppose of Pmlineditor, but each vote comes after a fairly extensive review of their contributions on all projects. I am not going to enumerate all the aspects of each which makes me vote a certain way, as it would be unhelpful to compare the two; each have different strengths. IMO, Pmlineditor is well on the way to sysop on en.wp, and it will do them good to obtain sysop their first. Alternatively, if they are mainly interested in sysop here, there is a whole lot of maintenance work that can be done and doesn't require the sysop bit. - Support Have done better work than me, IMO good choice. --WizardOfOz talk 13:41, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Support as his previous nominator. Simple is a real, operational, content project, and has fairly strict standards for adminship (full disclosure: I'm a sysop and bureaucrat there). As I've worked with PM in the past, I have no doubt he'll push the extra buttons as effectively here as he has at simple. –Juliancolton | Talk 14:55, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
