Hi Olaniyan Olushola . Thank you for all the team's work to organize Wiki Loves Earth and for completing the grant report. It's great that the group was able to organize the events and surpass all of your goals. We have a few comments/questions below and look forward to your responses.

  1. Congrats on having more participants that anticipated! Recruiting new community members was one of your main goals for the project. How have you been able to continue to communicate with or engage new participants after the contest?
  • Monthly editathon
  • Whatsapp group.
  1. How many people attended the editathon? 10 participants
  1. It's not clear from the report if you were able to organize a writing contest, as was planned in the proposal.
We did not include writing contest as part of our measure of success. If you checked very well, you will see that nothing was mentioned under it . I guess we did not remove "writing contest" when amending the original grant template.
  1. It would be great to have a link to the winning photos. see them below: :

  2. One main focus of your proposal was on supporting the integration of photos on the Wikimedia projects. The report says that 75% of all images are in use. However, according to the Glamorous tool, 29 images have been used 41 times (4% of all images in the category). Please let me know how you got the 75% number.
If you checked the measure of success very well, I guess, this is a typographical error. Our plan is to use 75 images ( or 15%) images. Please check here. We counted by number of our contribution ( manual)
  1. As affiliates become more experienced with organizing photo contests and repeat contests year after year, it is important to shift the focus from quantity of photos to quality. Looking at the photo submissions, this would be a good strategy for the user group. Partnering with local photography clubs or thinking of ways to engage professional photographers is a good way to support an increase in the quality of the photos. I'd be happy to talk more about ways to do this.
I will be so glad to have a chat on the way to go...
  1. Please note that we can accept the report, but we will not be able to officially close the grant until we have received documentation that the awards have been received.

Hi @AWang (WMF):, we have redeedemed all the cash reward except the 3rd Winner ( who did not show up) . The total sum of the cash is NGN40,000.00 ( USD 131.1). We suggest the amount should be deducted from our next grant. I will send the signed sheet by email Olaniyan Olushola (talk) 20:16, 2 June 2018 (UTC).Reply
