Deoband Community Wikimedia/Activity plans/Half-Yearly Strategic plan for April 2024 - September 2024

Greetings from the Deoband Community Wikimedia! This activity plan builds upon our previous six-monthly activity plan. Over the last six months, we have streamlined our conversation hour and contributed through our upcoming leadership development and skills infrastrure plan. This page outlines a comprehensive list of planned activities for the term spanning from 1 April 2024 to 30 September 2024. Please note that this list is dynamic.

Workshops at Wiki Club Jamia on the following issues:

  • Understanding the encyclopedic neutral point of view
  • Understanding Wikipedia's notability criterias
  • Combatting vandalism on Wikipedia: a guide to important tools such as Twinkle
  • Embarking on Wikipedia Writing: A guide to contributing articles from scratch
  • A comprehensive guide on the workings of Did You Know
  • Advanced Guide to Wikimedia Commons: Scope, Uploading Images, Categorizing, Using on Wikipedia
  • Tentatively two Fellowships aiming at uploading of around 300 images on Wikimedia Commons
  • 1 Collaborative Drive with Project Korikath to help document thematic images from Bangladesh
  • Third edition focusing on Urdu, Hindi, and Yoruba Wikipedia, with a goal of creating/improving approximately 100 articles.
  • Second edition with a target of 100 articles and capacity development of Kashmiri language editors.
