DabFix
- Problem: The DabFix tool for rapidly populating disambiguation pages is no longer available.
- Who would benefit: Editors who create disambiguation pages.
- Proposed solution: Create an in-house version of DabFix capable of populating disambiguation pages with appropriate information (e.g., birth and death dates of human subjects, and short descriptions of their significance).

Yes, none of these tools seem to work anymore, and they have always been erratic. Too bad, because they were very helpful tools: Dabfix, Dabsolver, Commonfixes.

- I'd add Dablinks, which is the tool I use most. (Example page: [1].) Certes (talk) 16:45, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
- Code for Dablinks could be reused to warn when linking to disambiguation pages. Certes (talk) 17:11, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
The tools are not currently available via their usual IP address. Even if they return, they may be unstable, which increases the priority of this wish. I have a backup of the source code, but no licence to use or deploy it. Certes (talk) 18:21, 25 December 2020 (UTC)

- Support The tools still work via IP address but a more widely supported version would be welcome. Certes (talk) 20:47, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

- Support I am actually working on a bot that would suggest where a disambiguation page would be needed (when there are several pages with the same name but the parenthesis part and where neither in the cluster is a disambiguation already), but my progress is rather slow. I am not sure what the tool mentioned was doing, but I definitely support any reasonable tool development related to better management of disambiguation pages. - Support The tool is very much alive, and it's accessible from http://69.142.160.183/~dispenser/view/Dabfix. However, some important functions (like the missing entries one) relied on some feature on the mediawiki side (or was it toolforge?) which apparently got disabled around March–April 2019 (the feature had to do with user tables or something like that). If that feature could be enabled again, that would be great. Uanfala 22:13, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
