Discussion
editBanner text doesn't explain what "Draft recommendations by working groups of the Wikimedia 2030" are nor why should I care about them. Please reword. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 13:23, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
- Made two banners and struck initial one, Martin. George Ho (talk) 19:59, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
- Looks better, thanks. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:14, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
Changed the proposed wording a little bit, see [1]. Could you review the banner, please? --Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:23, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
- The following banner text looks fine: "Recommendations by Wikimedia strategy working groups on what to improve about the Wikimedia projects were published. They are drafts, your input is welcome." George Ho (talk) 19:32, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
- As for the deadline, probably either the beginning or end of November. The WMF or working groups haven't given specific date yet on when the discussion ends. George Ho (talk) 19:34, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. Could you get the banner text translated to few major languages? The link to translation interface is in the banner itself. Thanks! --Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:54, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
- I posted a help notice at Wikimedia Forum. George Ho (talk) 20:54, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
- Also answered one of questions. George Ho (talk) 21:31, 26 August 2019 (UTC)

- I doubt IPs would be interested in this. Frankly, I'm not sure it's useful to have a broader notification than a watchlist notice for this. --Yair rand (talk) 22:01, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- Also, I don't think the proposed text ("on what/how to change about the Wikimedia projects") is accurate. The recommendations are mostly about our back-end support structures. --Yair rand (talk) 22:04, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- Struck out previous banner texts, and limiting banner to just logged-in users. BTW, what are "back-end support structures"? It looks too technical for many users. George Ho (talk) 22:27, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- By support structures, I was referring to our various off-wiki organizations like the Wikimedia Foundation and chapters and other affiliates. --Yair rand (talk) 22:30, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- Amended banner text. George Ho (talk) 23:02, 26 August 2019 (UTC)

I recently noticed that the second iteration of the draft recommendations were published. How would this affect the CentralNotice proposal? Must I narrow the target to every current iteration whenever newer iteration arrives? George Ho (talk) 22:28, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

editApproved, campaign settings to be clarified. @George Ho: Could you please clarify when should your banner be displayed? "August 2019 → October or November 2019" is too ambigous (and long). Is there any deadline, or timeframe when you would like to attract more users? I also assume you want to target only logged in users. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:17, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
