Reunión con la Fundación Salvador Allende

Resumen/reporte:
Se realiza una reunión con Carla Hernández, encargada del Centro de Documentación y Proyectos de la Fundación Salvador Allende (FSA), y se da cuenta de la selección preliminar de 15 discursos, y de una segunda selección de otros 12 discursos que se encuentra en proceso. Una vez concluida la selección final, que se espera se complete durante enero, se enteraría un total de 25 discursos para su liberación. Además, se propone un calendario preliminar para el proceso de liberación.

Resumen/reporte:
Se conversa con Erika Araya, Jefa de BiblioGAM, sobre la posibilidad de llevar a cabo acciones conjuntas en el futuro, ya que la misión del Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral (GAM) es «acercar la cultura a todos las personas rompiendo las barreras que los separan» y esto se alinea con los intereses y proyectos llevados a cabo por Wikimedia Chile. Dentro de este contexto se conversa sobre tres temas: a) La implementación de mejoras para el desarrollo del concurso Wiki Loves Monuments en Chile, basado en la experiencia conjunta, aunque se explicita que todavía no se ratifica la organización del concurso; b) La idea de desarrollo de un «Taller de Edición de Wikipedia para el Adulto Mayor»; y c) Las potencialidades del proyecto de los Dicursos Oficiales de Salvador Allende de la FSA, para preservar y compartir documentos de la BilbioGAM que no se encuentran disponibles a través del catálogo público.
Reunión de Capacitación Fundación Salvador Allende

Resumen/reporte:
En esta reunión se presentó como Wikipedista en Residencia en la Fundación Salvador Allende (FSA) a Rocío Consales, quien realiza una capacitación sobre la estructura y conceptos iniciales de edición de las páginas de Wikipedia a Carla Hernández, encargada del Centro de Documentación y Proyectos de la FSA. Además, se acordó la realización de una nueva capacitación durante el desarrollo del proyecto.
Lanzamiento de Wiki Force Chile - Grupo de Meetup de Wikimedia Chile

Resumen/reporte:
El 30 de enero se crea un grupo en el sitio Meetup denominado Wiki Force Chile, la idea es poder generar espacio de conversación, y la oportunidad para que se integren nuevas personas a Wikimedia Chile, que puedan incorporar puntos de vista novedosos y diversos, ideas renovadoras y nueva energía.
El sitio será administrado por Sarah Chambers, socia de Wikimedia Chile, y miembro de la «Comisión de Comunidad y Comunicación», que busca establecer vínculos con la comunidad, tanto a través de redes sociales como de actividades de encuentro. Para participar basta con registrarse en el sitio y a unirse al grupo Wiki Force Chile.

Meeting with Salvador Allende Foundation

A meeting is held with Carla Hernández, head manager of the Documentation and Project Department of the Salvador Allende Foundation (FSA in Spanish,) where the preselction of 15 speeches, with another second selection in progress for 10 speeches is informed. Once the selection has been finalized, estimated for January, the complete set of 25 speeches will be liberated (online.) Also, a preliminary calendar was proposed for the liberation process.

Meeting with BiblioGAM

Summary/Report:
A conversation is held with Erika Araya, head manager of BiblioGAM over the possibilty to coordinate future participation together, considering that the misión of the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM in Spanish) is to “bring culture to every person, breaking down the barriers that separate them.” This is inline with the interests and projects organized by Wikimedia Chile. In this context, three topics were discussed: a) The implementation of improvements (in developing) for the Wiki Loves Monuments contest in Chile, based on previous participation together (eventhough the future organizaion of the contest has not been agreed-upon); b) The idea to create a future “Wikipedia Editing Workshop for Retired (Age) Patrons”; and c) Potential reaches of the Official Speeches of Salvador Allende Project from the Salvador Allende Foundation (FSA), in respect to preserve and share documents from the BiblioGAM archives that currently can’t be accessed through the public catalogue.

In this meeting Rocío Consales was presented as the Wikipedist in Residence for the Salvador Allende Foundation (FSA), who held a training sesión with Carla Hernández, head manager of the Documentation and Project Department (FSA), over the structure and basic concepts of editing Wikipedia pages. Also, a second training sesión was agreed upon by both parts to be held during the development process of the project.
Launch of Wiki Force Chile – Meetup Group for Wikimedia Chile

Summary/Report:
On the 30th of January the group Wiki Force Chile was created on the Meetup website, with the idea to generate a new space for conversation, besides offering an opportunity to intregrate new members to Wikimedia Chile, to include new, innovative and diverse points of view, besides refreshing the energy of the group.
The site will be administered by Sarah Chambers, member of Wikimedia Chile, and member of the “Community and Communication Commission,” that searches to establish new links within the community, such as through social media or meet and greet events. To participate, only a simple registration is needed before “joining” the Wiki Force Chile group.
