As announced in the first announcement email on the Wikimedia Summit, we have published all answers submitted by applying affiliates to create an overview of Movement Strategy engagement, to indicate opportunities for exchange and partnerships, and to create transparency in the application process.

|Algeria Wikimedians User Group (Wiki DZ)||Yes||WIKIDZ members have organized several events related to the 2030 strategy the group signed the endorsement in 2017 organized wikiarabia in October 2021 with lots of discussion on the strategy it is gradually applying implementations on the strategy such as governance its most active member has been in the strategy design group MCDC selector and is currently launching a study with other members from the Arab world on the implementation 25 on HUB||WikiDZ has already voted for a group charter as part of a plan to strengthen the governance of the group to be in line locally and with the movement we have a 3 year plan and have already voted for the group charter and a project underway to improve our visual identity with the foundation
the group is already supporting a regional hub establishment and is currently working on a project for 14: Cross-WikiTool going into the user experience improvement

|Arabic Wikimedians User Group||Yes||The Arab Wikimedians User Group will have a volunteer engaged with Movement Strategy.

|In accordance with the global movement's efforts in line with the Wikimedia 2030 strategy the user group by this action intends to understand how the Arabic-speaking communities can be supported in their geographic thematic and linguistic scope through a series of live meetings and surveys to discuss and collect information to analyze it to allow for a proposal of an integrated structure having roles responsibilities in defined thematic areas supporting a geographical area recognized as the Arab world.||For explaine our vision about hubs and For a better coordination between the Arabic-speaking communities and the others affiliates and groups|
|Art+Feminism||Yes||Yes we participated in many conversations around the creation and implementation of the Movement Strategy and very specifically been involved with conversations around the Universal Code of Conduct. Presently we’ve been involved in multiple conversations around Peer Learning opportunities and programs.||The overall mission of Art+Feminism naturally aligns with many of the initiatives within the Movement Strategy. We envision our affiliate helping further these initiatives through much of the work we continue to do. We’re hopeful that with the Movement 2030 strategy there will be more opportunities for peer learning and knowledge sharing and creation. Particularly in three main areas:
||Whereas there have been many great moments of connection through virtual convenings during the pandemic it’s hard to replicate those smaller impactful moments in digital space. It is often those small moments that lead to great collaboration and (un)learning. By being in the space where Movement Strategy implementation is being focused on we’re excited to learn and help how we can to help foster a braver and more inclusive movement.|
|Asian Month||Yes||We have been engaged in Movement Strategy since its inception. Our delegates have attended various working groups participated in regional events in ESEAP and contributed to the organization of some. Although the planned Wikimania in Bangkok was unfortunately cancelled our staff have been active members in the organizing committee while it lasted.||We believe we can contribute in various aspects including helping organizing some of the events as our staff have past experience working towards that.||Participation in the Summit would help us gather broader consensus bring our unique voice to the discussion.|
|Azerbaijani Wikimedians User Group||No||Unfortunately we cannot participate in the Movement Strategy as a user group as we would like. Even if we want to run a Strategy Salon we have difficulty finding financial support for it. (As you know under current country laws non-educational grants are not allowed in the country) Therefore we only have discussions about the Movement Strategy whether online on Wikipedia or in small wiki meetups to exchange views. Five years ago we surveyed the title 'Wikipedia Strategy' (2017) and pointed out how our community wanted to see the Wikimedia movement in 2030.||The Azerbaijani Wikimedians User Group is ready to support and develop the Wikimedia Movement in Azerbaijan and to implement the recommendations of the Movement Strategy. We are planning to carry out a wide range of activities for the Movement Strategy in the future.||I will be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Movement Strategy. I will try to introduce all ideas and innovations to the Azerbaijani wiki community and I think this is very important in the development of the Wikimedia movement.|
|Basque Wikimedians User Group||Yes||We have been at all the meetings. I have also worked in the Diversity working group. Our user group has discussed the Movement Strategy.||I would like the Movement to be more active faster on decissions and make the WMF accountable on the direction the Movement Strategy has decided.||On site meetings help booster ideas discuss complex issues and go on better than online discussions which tend to be more stiff. Participating is a key issue for advancing in the Movement Strategy.|
|Centre for Internet and Society - Access to Knowledge||Yes||I am officially representing CIS-A2K in this Wikimedia summit. A2K has been working as a movement partner for ten years now and is a national-level support program for the communities and the projects in India.
Many of our programs and events are aligned with the Movement Strategy recommendations and initiatives. A2K team members have been part of thematic working groups and also participated actively in global conversations. We have engaged Indian communities in several supplementary events around movement strategy such as sessions in Train-the-Trainer program Wikimedia Wikimeet India Stay Safe Stay Connected series Wikimedia Summit preparatory event etc. We have also promoted global conversations among communities which resulted in their active involvement in some sessions. We are sharing the movement strategy with our institutional partners and discussing the priorities and implementation plans based on prioritized initiatives.
|As a support structure working with all the communities and affiliates in India we’ll work with them in their prioritized strategy implementation process. Our programs in the last two years and proposed program for the coming year shows our organic process towards implementation of priority initiatives such as —
We are keen on creating a conducive atmosphere for stakeholders in India to engage in processes related to governance and development of hubs. For better understanding of strategy related documents by the communities the resources in major Indian languages are necessary. We will facilitate this resource development.
|The participation will help to further develop our understanding of different aspects of strategy and learn about the details of priority initiatives implementation processes.
As a program and implementation support steward we’ll get an opportunity to know the important dialogues processes needs and upcoming plans such as movement charter regional networks global council. This will give us an opportunity to share our own experience viewpoints our working and collaboration experience with different communities and partners. We are confident that our active participation will benefit a lot for the role of CIS-A2K in strategy implementation in India and South Asia.
|Commons Photographers User Group||No||We are a young UserGroup we recently (December 2021) elected our first board. We need a strategy for our own goals that is supporting the commons community first. Still we support the Movement Strategy Process.||Our goals for more and better free licensed content on Commons are in line with the Strategy. Our UserGroup identified Movement Strategy Recommendation #6 Invest in Skills and Leadership Development Initiative #31 'Global approach for local skill development - gathering data matching peers mentorship recognition' as priorities to upgrade the skills of our users by providing them mentorship/training/workshop.||Networking is essential for the Strategy goals. We can learn a lot From other affiliates' experiences.|
|Dagbani Wikimedians User Group||Yes||Dagbani Wikimedikans Wikimedians User Group has been actively involved in the Movement Strategy engagements. Global Open Initiative Foundation organized a series of meetups to discuss the 10 Movement Strategy recommendations which the Dagbani Wikimedans Community participated in. This meetup was centered on prioritizing the 10 recommendations.There were first and second meetups the top two recommendations that were prioritized were Increase the sustainability of our movement and Investment in skills and leadership development.
Dagbani Wikimedians User Group got engaged in the Movement Strategy Implementation Plan with support from Wikimedia Foundation where community members were introduced to the Movement Strategy Recommendations. A research was also conducted to determine the User Experience with the Dagbani Wikipedia.The whole project was aimed at contributing to Improving User Experience. ------ (second application from ED): Since the beginning of the global conversations around the Movement Strategies the Dagbani Wikimedians user group has been actively involved in the online global conversations as well as organizing local meetups to ensure that community members have a better understanding of all the 10 Movement Strategy recommendations and implementations. In 2020 I participated in two local movement strategy meetups organized by the Global Open Initiative together with some members of the Dagbani Wikimedians user group to prioritise our discussions on two movement strategy recommendations: 1. Increase the sustainability of our movement 2. Investment in skills and leadership development. See report:  In 2021 I led a research project on movement strategy recommendations 2. Improve User Experience through a rapid grant offered to the Dagbani Wikimedians user group. See report: 
|Dagbani Wikimedians Community is a vibrant community with over 100 active volunteers. The hard work of the community members resulted in the Dagbani language now having its own Wikipedia. With this new language Wikipedia and Improving User Experience being one of the Movement strategy Recommendations we intend to improve the experience of users so that they will become familiar with the interface of the Dagbani Wikipedia thereby being able to contribute effectively to its content. The User Group also being a growing community requires leadership skills to boost its leadership in steering the affairs of the community. The affiliate would concentrate on these two Movement Strategies and would go along with the other strategy recommendations.
------ (second application from ED): As one of the most active Wikimedia language affiliates in Africa the Dagbani Wikimedians user group has prioritized its activities to align with 3 of the 10 movement strategy recommendations: Innovate in free knowledge Improve User Experience and Invest in Skills and Leadership Development. These 3 recommendations will help us to support our community by creating skills and leadership development programs for volunteers and contributors expanding our projects beyond the community to increase collaboration and partnerships within and outside the Wikimedia movement as well as improving the user experience of the Dagbani Wikipedia. As one of the 5 Seed languages for the rollout of Abstract Wikipedia in 2024 we will continue to engage other communities and affiliates to support the Dagbani Wikipedia and other smaller language Wikipedias in Ghana. |Participating in the summit would allow Dagbani Wikimedians User Group to contribute to shape the future of the Wikimedia Movement by taking part in discussions around the implementation of the 2030 Movement Strategy.
----(Second application from ED): As a leader and the Executive Director for the Dagbani Wikimedians user group my participation in the summit will further deepen my knowledge and understanding of the Wikimedia Movement Strategy. It would be an opportunity for me to learn from other participants and also share the learning experiences gathered from our involvement with the movement strategy research and discussions. At the end of the summit I hope to share my learning experiences with members of the Dagbani Wikimedians user group and other Wikimedia communities in Ghana.
|Don Wikimedians User Group||Yes||Don Wikimedians User Group has long taken part in discussions about the Movement Strategy. A key moment of inclusion in the movement was the 2019 summit in Berlin where a translated version of the Strategy was presented in Russian. After my return from Berlin a group meeting was organized at which I introduced the principles of the Strategy to the active members of the group. Most of the principles of the strategy applicable to the Russian reality were supported by the participants of the group. Another important moment was the summit in Estonia on the Movement Strategy for Russian-speaking Wikimedians at which many aspects of the strategy were explained in more detail. After the summit members of the Don User Group decided to help translate a number of theses of the strategy into Russian. Later representatives of the group participated in discussions of the strategy at CEE Mitings and Wikimania.||We are currently working with representatives of Wikimedia Polska on the creation and follow-up of the CEE Hub. In the future we have plans to engage more actively in translating a number of the main theses of the strategy into understandable Russian language unfortunately it is very difficult to translate texts related to the strategy because a number of terms and concepts have no analogues in the Russian language. We also plan to continue to participate in the discussion of the Charter of the Movement.||A more detailed understanding of what's going on will help our user group become more integrated into these processes and thus have more influence on them. Learning more about Movement Strategy will allow us to share it with the entire Russian-speaking Wikipedian community. Historically Don Wikimedians User Group representatives have helped other less experienced Russian user groups with questions concerning the rules and other methodological issues. It is important to get the word out to every interested volunteer in the Wikimedia movement and using our authority and experience in Russia we can try to do this.|
|Esperanto and Free Knowledge||Yes||Brainstorming and gathering ideas from the Esperanto Wikimedia community for consultation cycles; participation in in-person consultations and discussions during Wikimedia Conference (like proposal to introduce teal management) and Wikimania.||Using MS as one of important start points for our own Strategic plans. Some specific things we are working on or planning are environmental sustainability non-WMF revenue sources participation in regional hub capacity development high-impact topics partnerships for content and outreach.||Participation in WS increases sharing of good practices possibilities for collaborations the sense that it is possible to do it focuses us on the Strategy topics. It is very needed to be in a small circle of highly visionary people who are not so bound be current state of the art and can see far into the future possibilities live there be courageous to bring that future into 'here and now' - I foresee such ethos during WS and it to be full of inspiring concrete ideas.|
|GLAM Macedonia User Group||Yes||Yes GLAM Macedonia organized strategy salon in Skopje. The discussion topics were about capacity building and partnership.||We think that almost all programs and projects we work on are related to Innovate in Free Knowledge according to the goal: to allow the inclusion and preservation of all forms of human knowledge in all socio-cultural contexts (our GLAM program) and to include more diverse domains of knowledge and to deliver knowledge as a service for all (our education program).||We would like to hear other affiliations how they implement the Movement Strategy Recommendations.|
|Groupe d'utilisateurs de la communauté Wikimedia Guinée Conakry||Yes||We read shared and promote strategic direction online and offline in our country.
We organized and produced reports on the strategic orientation in Conakry and the strategic orientation young people in Kamsar. |H-GAPS User Group||No||We are a new yet very active User Group. This is our first opportunity to attend an event related to Movement Strategy.
HGAPS the network and the 501c3 pre-date the registration of the User Group with WMF. Participating in the Summit 2022 will be invaluable in educating the Board of Directors and membership (including an extensive affiliate network off-Wiki) about the Movement Strategy.
|HGAPS engages stakeholders from groups traditionally under-represented within Wiki projects using interest in psychology and psychological science as the bridge. Results include:
-exposure to aspects of Wiki not taught or affirmed in traditional courses yet -exposure to the basics of editing -a support network for developing more intermediate and advanced skills Student stakeholders include more women than men and a large selection of non-white students (with a particular emphasis on Latin/Hispanic and East Asian but drawing from an international student pool). Participating in the Summit will be invaluable for learning more about the internal workings of Wiki as well as identifying shared values and priorities that could be infused through HGAPS activities both on- and off-Wiki. HGAPS is unusual in being able to share ideas with educators and the professional community in ways that reach stakeholders and influencers who are not currently engaged with the Wiki Movement.
|HGAPS User Group has exceptional visibility and attention in the teaching scientific and professional communities with more than 24+ partner projects involving grant and in-kind contributions with direct support by professional societies’ leadership. We have a wealth of “lessons learned” from implementing these partnerships and projects that would be valuable to share with other user groups and with the Movement Strategy.
Sending the HGAPS Executive Director brings the longest “HGAPS institutional memory” who is an active contributor to multiple Wiki projects interfacing directly with both the 501c3 Board of Directors and the 12-20 active projects within the HGAPS network.
|Hausa Wikimedians User Group||Yes||Hausa Wikimedians User Group members have been involved in the movement wide Movement Strategy 2030 global consultations where Wikimedia communities and affiliates were invited to prioritize initiatives from the movement strategy recommendations. Our group's participation has helped in prioritizing initiatives for the global coordination especially our participation during the West Africa Strategy meetup in 2020 in which I facilitated the interpretation of the meeting to Hausa language audience. Another engagement was our group's two organized local meetings where the Group discussed extensively in identifying ideas and priorities from the strategic recommendations for the implementation of Wikimedia 2030 Movement Strategy and which is now planned and prepared for our group future projects.||The goal is by 2030 'Wikimedia will become the essential infrastructure of the ecosystem of free knowledge and anyone who shares our vision will be able to join us'. Hausa Wikimedians User Group as an affiliate has chosen recommendation number 6. Invest in Skills and Leadership Development from the global strategic recommendations to be our main priority for implementation of the 2030 Movement Strategic plan and the following initiatives under cluster C are those identified.

|Participating in an in-person event like this one would help my affiliate in contributing to the Movement Strategy implementation in the following ways;
First of all it will provide an opportunity to represent the affiliate at the Wikimedia summit which will facilitate face to face interactions that are key to learning about others' experiences and success stories peer learning and knowledge sharing among colleagues/teams etc and will inspire us to do better. It will provide an opportunity to meet many experts who can teach and share everything we might need to know about the current global approaches to the movement strategy implementation processes and planning.
|Hindi Wikimedians User Group||Yes||Hindi Wikimedians user groups has been engaged with Movement Strategy through conversation with Wikimedia foundation representative and continuous feedback asked on village pump pages. We also awair our community about Movement Strategy and 2030 goles and recorede their feedback.||Hindi wikimedians user group can be an important tool in the implementation of Movement Strategy amongs Hindi projects and community with it’s reach and acceptance within community. .. we can helpful to alline our project specific need along with movement stratigy and gole.||Participation in the Summit provide us an opportunity to experience worldwide Affiliate contribution to Movement Strategy implementation. |Igbo Wikimedians User Group||Yes||"As a community we've participated in various ways like
Knowledge as a service: providing techniques how tos etc with open access to reach a larger audience. I also participated on the first episode of the WikiMove podcast to further discuss what Knowledge as a service meant to is as a community. knowledge equity - improving the representation of traditionally underrepresented groups so that the sum of all human knowledge is reflected in a more even and thorough manner."
|"The 'Strategy Initiatives Prioritized for Implementation' as of mid-2021 are of particular interest to the Igbo Wikimedians User Group. It provides opportunities for more leadership. Our areas of interest from the prioritized initiatives:

|It would be an opportunity to relate our best practices with the Wikimedia Foundation liaisons developers and product teams.
It would also help us to learn better how to promote and uphold the movement strategy better.
|Indic MediaWiki Developers User Group||Yes||We were recognized in late 2020 by the time the first phase of MS concluded. Although we acknowledge that there was still a lot of scope to be involved during the first year we were busy with stabilizing membership of the group and technical outreach in India which was crucial to the affiliate growth. We have spent a significant amount of time with the logistics of setting up the affiliate and shaping the few initial activities such as spearheading Small Wiki Tooklits implementation in SA mentoring GSoC/Outreachy students & our regular work on on-wiki technical support. During the last 1.5 year we have spent the majority of time on developing different focus areas for our group and I think we are in good shape now. Also with pandemic receding we are in good shape to get involved and support MS implementation especially with related technical areas in India communities.||Cross-Wiki Tools: Tooling is one of strong forte and that is where our UG has been created from. Indic-TechCom which purely deals with technical work on wikis can be involved with developing cross-wiki tools.
Improve User Experience: Our plan is to organize sessions that will help users give feedback on UI/UX components of wikis and we can use this feedback to share with respective technical teams. Skill Development Infrastructure and Resources for newcomers: As we have been extensively involved with organizing Small wiki toolkits sessions which is focused on improving the technical capacity of editors on smaller wikis to reduce dependency on pure programmers to fix issues. We would like to further leverage this with a strategic plan. Technology Council: Being one the three affiliates purely focused on technical work we would like to play an active role in this area.    
|In the months leading to the Summit we will be developing a strategic plan for what the User Group does for at least two of the above mentioned focus areas mainly Cross-Wiki Tools and Skill Development. These plans will largely include the overall impact we would like to make in these areas during the next couple of years and some implementation steps. We believe the connections and brainstorming that will happen during the Summit will be of great help in refining our plans and when we move to implementing them.|
|Iranian Wikimedians User Group||Yes||I was part of Advocacy working group helping the movement strategy to be created and instructed||as a member of under-voiced community I did my best to engage more people from community providing them with info and translation||I think with peer learning and sharing experiences would help our UG to be more informed specially I am planning to talk about regional hub in the event|
|Iraqi Wikimedians User Group||Yes||We've been engaged successfully in all MENA regions and worldwide discussion and decision-making processes.
We engaged effectively in regional hubs discussion and movement charter as well. Our members are actively present in almost every SWAN meeting & most of movement strategy workshops. In addition to attending all sessions on movement strategy in Wikimania.
|Very active role we are aiming to be an essential part of implementing the movement strategy in our country and region.
We are already involved and planning to be more active and efficient.
|After 2 years of virtual meetings in planning and applying the movement strategy it's very beneficial to meet with other stakeholders in the movement and discuss the potential partnerships and innovative ways of implementing the recommendations of the movement strategy.|
|Karavali Wikimedians||Yes||Yes Our Affiliate has engaged in Movement strategy activities mainly in preserving Tulu language and culture including a variety of oral traditions like folk songs and folk arts folk dance. As an Affiliate we have conducted an event for documenting rare folk tradition Siddavesha and Kori Kambla.
Siddavesha :  Kori Kambla :  We affiliate more focus on Initiative 2: Funding for Underrepresented Communities and Initiative 34: Facilitate a culture of documentation. These activities support the Movement strategy recommendations and attempt to implement the ‘Identify Topics for Impact’ recommendation in our context.
|Our Affiliate focuses on Initiative 34:Facilitate a culture of documentation: To fill an underrepresented in culturale documentation especially in oral traditions and performing arts. Even though the culture of documentation is geared towards activities and initiatives in the technology field we want to broaden it by including the oral tradition and performing arts. They are a means of transmitting knowledge and cultural values and represent a community’s collective heritage. They are inextricably linked to the life tradition and culture of the region. This significant attempt is about carrying out a complete overhaul and improvement in the cultural documentation of our oral traditions.
We will create/edit using existing Oral Culture Transcription toolkit Wikimedia as per the requirements to propel the movement of language preservation. Further recording photographs videos and audios of folk traditions and interviews of folk experts and making them available on online platforms
|While implementing the Movement Strategy activities of past projects our challenges are in the kind of documentation one could make. Recording retelling of oral text using oral language documentation is an uphill task. Our community needs to understand potentials and challenges faced by other Wiki affiliates across the world. We need a universal guideline to plan the culture of documentation adaptability and capacity building through our Affiliate community.
There are multiple approaches followed and developed by Wiki communities across our movement to understand the question of equity and diversity better and will enrich internal processes that we will develop.
|Kurdish Wikimedians User Group||Yes||I've translate some pages related to Movement Strategy into Kurdish (my local language). In addition as user group leader I discussed some news updates & some ideas for applying grants from movement strategy with my community. Furthermore I engaged my community for the both Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees Elections and Movement Charter/Drafting Committee/Elections as well as I translate necessary pages for both elections.
Over the last year I tried to Increase awareness about the Wikimedia Foundation/Movement activities in my community.
|Despite the small size of my community I can say my community bring and will bring more diversity to the Wikimedia community. As most of our members are from Turkey Iraq Iran Syria. Kurdish User group members we are welcoming UCoC in order to provide more safety environment to our contributors. In addition we also want to support improving UX (user experience) initiatives since many users in our community face a number of challenges to start their contribution on Wikimedia projects.||Via expanding our networks with Wikimedia community and learning from the other affiliates who are already start their contribution on Movement Strategy.|

|Maithili Wikimedians User Group||Yes||Several affiliate-led events for Movement Strategy discussions and events has been held. Like the event held on the 5th August 2017 at Kathmandu Nepal. The Wikimedia movement wise movement-wide strategy discussion a process which will run throughout 2017. I was working at the Harmonization Sprint 2019. I participate in the Governance Group in Telegram in Spanish in the WM Elections Volunteers and others. I also am collaborating with translations and with the talks about the Universal Code of Conduct.||We continue to participate in the dissemination of the strategy's recommendations and principles among our members. Within our objectives the main discussion now is how to eliminate the gender gap how to achieve inclusion of underrepresented groups in our community and projects how to better attract and retain new and diverse volunteers and how we can provide safety and inclusion to our members.||We have debates and discussions on how to include contributors from online communities who are not affiliate members but whose feedback we are interested in taking into account in order to involve them in decision making. Our members have many doubts and need to have more updated information about the implementation of the movement's strategy. We hope this summit will help to clear them up.|

We have engaged our members in discussions about the Movement Strategy so everyone is on the same page on how they our affiliate and each member personally can make an impact.||The North Carolina Wikipedians role in the implementation of the Movement Strategy is to engage its current and new members in activities. Wikipedia’s strongest area is accurate information and it’s next strongest area is community. Our affiliate will continue to maintain those strengths while implementing the Movement Strategy.||I will be able to bring back the enthusiasm of the Summit back to the North Carolina Wikipedians and get more members engaged in the Movement Strategy.|
|North-West Russia Wiki-Historians User Group||No||I'm nearly the only person with fluent English in my affiliate and I've tried to participate in MS events but haven't found anything useful for my affiliate and had to stop participating to free my time for other Wikimedia activities. And also all Movement Strategy is so complex so it can not be understood by one person if he's not a payed staff member who's job is to understand it. Really.||Being honest I still don't see our affiliate in MS mostly because I don't see it helpful for our common problems. I hope to find better ways of solving them than creating various committees and commissions or at least to find useful one.||I think we can bring our view of what is to be done to Wikimedia movement. Because now our affiliate nor wikimedians of all Russia doesn't see themselves included.|
|Odia Wikimedians User Group||Yes||The Odia Wikimedians User Group has been involved with the Movement Strategy since the beginning of the Strategy discussions. We organised conversations in the community level starting in 2019-2019. Later participation during Wikimania and other global conversations such as the Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network meetings have helped rethink our own internal community strategies. We see the direct impact of our participation in multiple levels now. Our content creation and content moderation policy is more aligned now to address the gaps of gender and other important diversity areas. Though the community-building exercise has slowed down during the pandemic we have strengthened the core of our community where each active Wikimedian is leading development of different verticals. Development of tools relevant locally has catalysed this work more.||Innovate in Free Knowledge: Our past collaboration with local governments has helped migrated to content of over a dozen websites and social media handles of the Odisha state government under CC licenses. By building tools we have semi-automated and streamlined the content migration to Wikimedia projects for bridging content gaps. We want to build on this work to strengthen our content diversity and community leadership to both acquire knowledge from outside Wikimedia projects and strengthen these projects.
Similarly our collaboration with Srujanika a local nonprofit specialized in scanning fragile text resulted in scanning of 7727 pages (65 volumes). This text includes many rare and valuable books. We plan to deepen our understanding while sharing our experience in GLAM that can yield in long-term partnership and contributions. We plan to focus more on Universal Code of Conduct Enforcement guidelines Human Rights Interest Group (we’re a member) more peer-to-peer spaces.
|- Deepen our existing knowledge of many of the Movement Strategy Priority areas and disseminate our own experiences with other. All of these efforts together can contribute to catalysing the ongoing Strategy implementations.
- We have identified many gaps and would flag these that are not only relevant to our own language Wikimedia projects and communities but also the larger South Asia and some of the other small-medium language communities/projects. - Forge close collaboration with other affiliates globally and Foundation Staff for long-lasting exchange of ideas and strategies beyond the Summit.
|Ohio Wikimedians User Group||Yes||In 2018 the Ohio Wikimedians User Group helped host the annual WikiConference North America in Columbus Ohio. We hosted Nicole Ebber as a keynote speaker to discuss Movement Strategy and participated in discussions. In 2019 we selected our movement strategy liaison and met to discuss and provide feedback for the 2019 scoping document. We sent a representative to Berlin in 2019 to participate in Movement Strategy discussions. Over the years we have also engaged with the rest of the US and North American communities to discuss Movement Strategy namely through WikiConference North America and the regular WALRUS calls. In 2021 we participated in choose North America's selector as part of the Movement Charter Drafting Committee.||Ohio is a library-rich region which has been growing its Wikimedia activities. Since starting a student group at the Ohio State University in 2015 and evolving into the Ohio Wikimedians User Group we now see several universities and libraries throughout Ohio participate in annual events such as Art+Feminism and 1Lib1Ref. We have also helped museums engage more with Wikimedia such as working with the Cleveland Museum of Art to establish a WikiProject to support and utilize material they released under CC0 and uploaded to the Commons. We'd like to continue to help build this Wikimedia culture throughout Ohio's GLAM institutions. We believe Ohio is a good contender among out user groups to continue implementing some tenants of the Movement Strategy - namely 1. Increase the Sustainability of Our Movement and 8. Identify Topics for Impact.||Most of the Ohio Wikimedians User Group activities have slowed down during the pandemic. With Movement Strategy developed and activities resuming we'd love to engage with other affiliate members and movement strategy organizers to learn about how we can best help implement our strategy in our region.|

|Open Foundation West Africa||Yes||We have been involved since the inception of the Movement Strategy. We have held series of discussions for our members at the community level .In the broader sense and in the local context we also held a round table dissection for all affiliates and prospective affiliates in our operational country Ghana. This brought together all stakeholders to share their ideas as well as inputs around conversation with the hope of ensuring inclusion by Ghanaian Wikimedians in the Movement Strategy. The primary motive was to facilitate a conversation that will make it possible for the Movement Strategy to captures the ideas of Wikimedians and other friends of the movement in Ghana.||I envision my affialite more or less a regional hub that will help in all processes to ensure that the Movement Strategy can be implemented effortlessly in the West African subregion which happens to be our geographic region where we have been operating. I believe with our vast experience working with various affiliates in the subregion and beyond will make us well poised to execute this task. We were involved and helped in the formation of some affiliates within our region and beyond as well as have worked as fiscal sponsor just to name but a few. We believe these will all well position us to bring context and experience to the table when it comes to discussion as well as implementation.||I am the board chair of my affiliate so I happen to be a member of the highest decision body of my affiliate. Hence once I participate in the Summit I am going to share whatever whatever takes place at at the Summit with respect to the Movement Strategy with my other members of the board as well as the community at large. In consultation with the board my affiliate will ensure to that the resolutions from the Movement Strategy are implemented to its latter to ensure that we are in line with the movement's goals and strategies.|
|PhilWiki Community Usergroup||Yes||I have been a participant in all SWAN (Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network) sessions since its inception. I have also made myself present in all conversations of WMF's Board of Trustees Call for feedback. Likewise I have attended most if not all the office hours for the Universal Code of Conducr 2021 online consultations.||As the Wikimedia movement in the Philippines is a multi-faceted if not fragmented collective -- I aspire to serve as a unifying force in bringing the affiliate I head this year PhilWiki to open branches in several provinces. The effect of it (with much optimism) is greater participation by otherwise unaffiliated Wikimedians. This will also have positive effect by way of participation in the ESEAP (East Southeast Asia Pacific) hub.||I summary it will provide me close interaction with the movers and shapers behind this Movement Strategy Summit.|
|Punjabi Wikimedians User Group||Yes||Yes Punjabi Wikimedians are participated involved and engaged with Movement strategy directly or indirectly from the beginning i.e. 2018 Punjabi Wikimedians organised a Movement Strategy event at Patiala Punjab where the CIS-A2K team visited and introduce us to the same. 14 to 15 Punjabi Wikimedians participated and talked about future activities and talked about future activities.
Apart from that Punjabi Wikimedians take part in virtual calls for Movement Strategy. We especially focus on underrepresented forms of knowledge and have promoted with the Punjabi Audiobooks projects. This is our strategic project to build a capacity building of the community more involved volunteers and make work interesting besides editing. (). On the other hand we are also experimenting with a new project which is called Wiki loves Wildflowers. This project engages newbie Varinder Sharma who is leading the project in the field. He is a wildflower expert and the experiment is with a three-month pilot project in which we are trying to bridge a content gap on Wikimedia Commons about a specific category. () Although my user group is engaged with activities online and offline. They are planning to grow the Wikimedia project with our regional strategy. The community is taking part in every task and the active members making strategies to promote more Wiki projects and spread awareness about the Wikimedia movement and sister projects. Various members working on planning designing sessions workshops online & offline events etc. are a part of the group. Community growth capacity building collaborations (GLAM) and leadership are the major tasks for the community or affiliate.
|Punjabi Wikimedians can play an important role in the implementation of the Movement Strategy. I strongly believe that my Affiliate can or will involve in the Movement Strategy implementation process. To analyse the tasks activities or plannings of Punjabi Wikimedians the Affiliate will follow the Ensure Equity in Decision-making Invest in Skills and Leadership Development Evaluate Iterate and Adapt recommendations or a few principles will be followed People-Centeredness Inclusivity & Participatory Decision-Making Equity & Empowerment Collaboration & Cooperation Transparency & Accountability etc. Here I am putting one example of efforts toward leadership development i.e. User:Gill jassu] is an active editor of the Punjabi Wikimedia projects. To encourage her and improve her skills in the field she was pushed for conducting a small online edit-a-thon for the regional community. After the event she feels more confident and this is the beginning of leadership development in the Punjabi community. (). This event played a role to boost up a Wikimedians to take a lead for other activities.||The summit always played a significant role in the growth of Affiliates all over the world. The reason behind it is to invite Affiliates from all over the world and those Affiliates interact with other Affiliates representatives. Their examples are more beneficial for each other rather other things. The summit is the platform where we adopt a lot of ideas perspectives thoughts awareness towards language and free knowledge etc. I am pretty sure that the summit helps my Affiliate contribute to Movement Strategy Implementation more and it will help to build a bridge to cross or solve the difficulties and challenges.|

|Shared Knowledge||Yes||As a representative on previous pre-pandemic editions of Wikimedia Summit I contribute into sessions about Strategy through more than dozen of activities and surveys.
Shared Knowledge through several members was included into creation of the CEE Hub through several interviews and direct participation. Shared Knowledge through our president Kiril Simeonovski and Board Member Cvetko Nedelkovski was one of the main organizers of the CEE Online Meetings in 2020 and 2021 determining programme which include strategy sessions many times.
|Shared Knowledge made a proposal for separate grant for one of the initiative to have designated projects for underrepresented communities into our country Aromanian and Romani-language communities where we aim to implement Movement Strategy via direct collaboration with local organizations into helping these underrepresented communities to have solid community.
As a local legal organization from 2014 we can be involved with reporting budgeting and planning offering help of the other and new organizations.
|As a volunteer with many roles into Affiliate long-term editor and local coordinator of the Wikiexpeditions project I did not have a change to be included into implementation phase as much as I want as many times I need to follow and read complex materials on Meta so offer to hear these in-person is much better for me.|
|West Bengal Wikimedians User Group||Yes||West Bengal Wikimedians User Group (WBG) first engaged with the movement strategy process ib 2017 when its representative members participated in the Cycle 3 conversation and discussed some of the challenges the link of which can be found here -  . In 2020 it took part in the transition discussion and prioritized 3 recommendations and 7 initiatives which seemed fit to their perspective the link of which can be found here -  . The affiliate is currently actively engaged with Wikimedia Bangladesh to build a thematic-linguistic hub in the region and beyond named Bangla Wikimaitree (see link here -  )||WBG has started to actively pursue to run in a more sustainable and productive way focusing on the first strategy recommendation. Systematic approach to improve satisfaction and productivity funding for underrepresented communities along with global revenue generation policy and fundraising strategy investment in skills and leadership development managing internal knowledge and ensuring equity in decision-making were the top initiatives prioritized by the affiliate and it has already started looking for options on how to implement them in their context. The UG has also started collaborating with Wikimedia Bangladesh to build a thematic-linguistic hub in the region and bring stronger leadership and voices from the region. It is also one of the first signatories of Wikimedia Affiliates Environmental Sustainability Covenant which prioritizes the strategy practices to “align our practices to support the environmental sustainability of our planet”.||The Summit will provide us the opportunity to learn and interact with affiliate leaders from our region and around the world aligned to our strategy priorities and brainstorm together to implement them in our context. We are also curious to know about the updates from Movement Charter Drafting Committee find out if its ongoing work is reflecting our unique regional concerns and challenges and share our perspectives to them. We expect to meet with concerned persons in power and actively seek out ways on how to financially sustain ourselves through decentralized fundraising and revenue generation. We are also interested to interact with other thematic hub leaders and explore if we can align and work with each other.|
|Whose Knowledge?||Yes||We have been following the MS conversations but not actively engaging with its activities. . Until 2019 we actively participated in MS activities such as previous Wikimedia Summits in Berlin Wikimanias and even as MS consultants for the equity and inclusion community-led track. However in the last 2 years much of our attention was focused on our programmatic work (that touches several MS recommendations) in addition to just surviving Covid for ourselves our families and our communities. Since January 2022 we have been reengaging with the MS by joining some key activities and spaces in the movement such as the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Hub and the discussions around the upcoming review of the UCoC.||- Follow up with the review process of the Universal Code of Conduct and its enforcement guidelines in particular the review of the language around race and ethnicity under Section 3.1 about Hassrament
- Co-create and convene initiatives that center the knowledges expertises and experiences of marginalized communities as a tool to build an equitable diverse movement and achieve knowledge justice. - Increase our participation in regional & thematic hubs specially our engagement with the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Hub process. We are also interested in several initiatives and we hope to being able to engage with: - Funding for Underrepresented Communities - Content initiatives in underrepresented communities - Identifying policies that hinder knowledge equity - Policies for experimentation with projects for knowledge equity
|We look forward to actively engaging in the discussions and initiatives of the MS reconnecting with our peers friends and allies in the movement. We hope coming together for the Summit will allow us to identify new opportunities and potential projects related to the MS initiatives we would like to actively support and be part of.|
|Wiki Cemeteries User Group||Yes||Many of our active members have been involved in the Movement Strategy process itself.||We would like to brainstorm and discuss ideas for how to develop new events and connect them directly with the Movement Strategy.||We believe the focus of our User Group will allow us to connect to many other Affiliates though we have struggled with doing this given our distributed we all are. This may help us connect better with one another.|
|Wiki Education Foundation||Yes||Wiki Education’s Executive Director Frank Schulenburg has participated in many of the Movement Strategy Global Conversations over the last years as well as participating in the Wikimedia Summit when it was focused on strategy. Frank has also been meeting with global education program leaders to research the possibility of an Education Thematic Hub.||During the call for organizations who were interested in potentially serving as hubs Wiki Education has begun exploring the possibility of serving as the Global Education Hub. Frank has been having a series of discussions with education program leaders and invited others to participate at a recent open meeting of the Wikipedia & Education User Group.
Programmatically Wiki Education has also been engaged in work relevant to a number of the initiatives. In particular our work on addressing diversity of content and contributors to English Wikipedia is relevant to initiatives 37 and 38 around content gaps and underrepresented communities. We regularly document our learnings good and bad on Meta and our website in line with initiative 42 and our technical platform the Programs & Events Dashboard is a key piece of movement technical infrastructure for program leaders in other regions who are bringing in newcomers such as initiatives 11 and 14.
|We would like our efforts of Movement Strategy implementation to be coordinated with others in the movement and we believe that the Summit provides an ideal opportunity to foster collaborations advance initiatives like our discussions of an education hub and otherwise ensure that our work can keep serving the needs outlined in the Movement Strategy.|

facilitation of debates and consultations on strategy in the Portuguese-speaking community with a focus on the integration of collectives around the discussions of the Strategy; WMF-supported research on possibilities for equity in decision-making and coordination among stakeholders; member participation in global hub meetings; leadership qualification training proposal submitted to the WMF; production of documents on the Strategy in Portuguese; participation in the MCDC; regular attendance at SWAN meetings; regular meetings with affiliates from different backgrounds and with the WMF to discuss strategic processes; participation in the regional grant committee; WikiCon Brazil 2022 organization focusing on strategic recommendations. |The WMB intends to prioritize in the short term implementation oriented towards investment in leadership development. At the moment when Brazilian Wikimedians prepare for the first national meeting in its history, WikiCon Brasil, we intend to explore community mobilization around the strategic nature of the event to jointly build a training program for Brazilian leaders for the Wikimedia movement.
The low Brazilian participation in the movement at a global level causes the overload of current leaders and the consequent impossibility of the challenges encountered by the community having the due attention of those who circulate in spaces where important decisions are made. This disconnect also makes contact, communication, partnership and the exchange of experiences of our community with the Wikimedia movement globally unfeasible. |The presence of the WMB will be relevant to bring the perspective of a Latin American affiliate and by extension of the Global South to the discussions that will define the directions for the implementation of the 2030 strategy and the MCDC.
We are interested in helping to elucidate the roles and responsibilities of Hubs in the Wikimedia movement with what we have learned in our research. The Summit will take place a few months after WikiCon Brazil in which we will have advanced in defining the scope of our strategic implementation process and we seek to share with other affiliates a plan for training local leaders. Some of these efforts include VideoWiki the OurWorldinData mirror medical translation and offline access via apps and Internet-in-a-Box. We are looking forwards to collaborating around all these efforts.

|Increasing Wikipedia awareness reaching out to a wider readership with 'accurate' information in written and visual forms and being able to answer questions from readers (more approachable). I envisage a greater collaboration with reputable organisations to gain maximum resources for content in addition to encouraging peers and experts.||Having the same aims we aim to improve data information visual aids and have them available for the widest possible readership in as many languages as possible and as globally as possible. Networking and sharing ideas at the Summit will be valuable. Returning to cascade the Movement Strategy goals and how to implement them will certainly contribute to Movement Strategy implementation.|
|Wiki Women's User Group||Yes||The Wiki Women's User Group has as one of its goals the discussion of issues in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Movement Strategy.
The Wiki Women's User Group hosted a prioritization event to discuss the Movement Strategy and our priorities for implementation in 2021. We discussed all the recommended Initiatives and itemized top three priorities being; Ensure Equity in Decision-making Investment in skills and leadership development. Some members have facilitated and co-facilitated other conversations ring. Our members have joined conversations and contributed to initiatives like the Hubs Dialogues Global Council amongst others. We also voted on the Universal Code of Conduct (UCOC) this is important to us as we envisage providing a safe space for all while ensuring that women across our movement We attend monthly SWAN meetings and bi-monthly “Conversations with the Trustees” meetings where movement strategy updates also occur and our community is informed on a timely basis.
|I envision Wiki Women’s User group taking up a lead role with support for Diversity and Gender being at the core. In addition to the other things mentioned at the top of our list of priorities are these Initiatives: leadership development (#32) skill development (#33) identifying impactful topics (#36 list of high-impact topics (#37a) bridging content gaps (#37b) and content initiatives in underrepresented communities (#38).||Wiki Women's User Group's involvement in the Summit is essential in my opinion because Wiki Women's User Group will support MS 2030 Initiatives that promote 'Diversity Equity and Inclusion.'
The conference would be an excellent opportunity to meet other stakeholders/affiliates in person to interact learn have in-depth discussions and reflect on MS 2030 updates and plans. This will aid future Wiki Affiliate cooperation I believe my attendance at the summit will provide an opportunity for follow-up and brainstorming on issues that occurred during the MS global events. WWUG represents the voices of all Wiki women in the movement. Listening and learning is our topmost priority and the summit will be the avenue to have a high end engaging moment to streamline our activities with existing and new communities at large.
|Wiki World Heritage User Group||Yes||The Wiki World Heritage through the board members has been engaged in the process of the strategy movement since the beginning of the consultation. Several members participated in the conversations submitted proposals and we voted for the latest UCoC enforcement guidelines.||The activities of our group cover the 5 continents with a strong interest in the Global South. We have members who speak various languages and are active in various Wikimedia projects. We believe that our perspective is very important and will help in the design of the Wikimedia Movement Strategy.||We plan to contact as many representatives of affiliates and the WMF staff as possible in order to establish a common and clear vision of the future of our movement. This vision cannot overlook the enormous change in the face of the world whether politically economically or technologically. We had our voice and it is very necessary to hear it.|
|wikiBlind||Yes||DrMel helped co-found wikiBlind after attending the strategic planning meetings at wikiSummit 2019. She has actively represented the wikiBlind group in meetings since then in Movement Strategy across wiki projects and with non-wiki organizations we are developing partnerships with. She has participated throughout the years since then including participating in many of the online meetings for Movement Strategy global conversations Capacity Exchange Network and for a number of other wiki projects. She has been keeping all of us up to date on her meetings and I am ready to join in those conversations.||WikiBlind is most focused on dramatically improving inclusivity and accessibility within wikiprojects and platforms.
Within the recommendations here are the initiatives we are most focused on: Recommendation 1: Movement Sustainability - inclusion of under-represented communities (Initiative 2). With unemployment in blind communities at more than 70% in the US and often higher around the world we know many of our potential members have so far been rejected from the workforce but we have time skills and desires to contribute to the world in a meaningful way. Wikipedia projects give us a chance to be part of something much bigger than ourselves: the future of human knowledge. We want all members of our blind communities to feel invited welcomed and supported in participating in these projects. Recommendation 2: Improved User Experience - by including members of our wikiBlind community accessibility problems become easier to identify and solve (Initiative 10). We have the technological savvy and skills within our communities to help improve the user interfaces and accessibility for everyone. We also want very much to work with anyone making the newcomer experience better (Initiative 11). Recommendation 4: Equity in Decision Making - Thematic Hubs (initiative 25). WikiBlind and wikimedia Accessibility User Group are ready to work with anyone else on projects for inclusivity and accessibility across the different differences we each represent.
|WikiBlind has the potential to bring an enormous number of new volunteers into wiki projects around the world.
We hope you will allow me to participate in person in Berlin and include our other active members virtually. By doing so we can build ways to bring in so many previously untapped resources. Creative problem solving is something we have to do every day. We are very human and very resourceful. |WikiClassics||Yes||We were aware of the process and the many aspects within its framework and at the personal level some members were engaged. We informed via Twitter about calls for feedback related to the Movement Strategy so we contributed to some plurality from our area into the global discussion.
At the UG level it was just time-consuming to gather for a single voice with such a variety of topics since we lack a run-in infrastructure for internal debate. During the last year the main contact Alessandro Marchetti attended the meeting for the discussion of the method for the Board of Trustees elections but not those related to the Universal Code of Conduct. Attendance at some SWAN meetings about various aspects of the Movement Strategy was silent. However we voted to send a Selector for the Movement Charter contributing to her approval.
|The selection of a delegate and agreeing on a unified position on the form help us to catalyze a common vision that we can bring to Berlin and share among affiliates. For us this process turned out to be the best streamlined way to define a unique position: we can revise it with the delegate over the following months reviewing all the paperwork and agreeing on a clear bullet list of points to be discussed.
Also we hope to share expertise with other thematic and small affiliates especially those who have been more active so far on this front.
|We have a multifaceted experience on governance in the Wikimedia movement because our main contact was an organizer of the ASBS2019 and some members are actively involved in other UGs. Due to their cross-national and cross-platform nature thematic UGs also bring together users with intrinsically diverse backgrounds and can act as a bridge between different experiences in the wiki ecosystem.
Combining these aspects we can therefore provide structured feedback regarding the roles and responsibilities but also the needs of this subclass of affiliates addressing also many details that can lead to a smooth implementation of the Strategy.
|WikiConference North America||Yes||The WCNA is an annual conference that has been held 8 times. At least 100 people regularly attend the conference from North America.
Andrew Lih represented WCNA at a Summit Conference at least once. Conferences organized by WCNA have featured presenters and discussions of the movement's strategy. Among the topics that we have covered is about hubs (25) and disinformation (36c).
|We would be interested in participating in large groups --- 'hubs'. We seek to support the general use of conference software, preferably free software, interpretation, translation, in general, joint participation to advance the mission. ||We hold annual conferences with the participation of various WMF affiliates and often partner organisations. We have experience in reaching consensus on practical issues. In the context of the Charter of the Movement we are interested in ensuring that some principles of open source scientific and technological development are incorporated. |Wikiesfera||Yes||Wikiesfera UG is a recognised Wikimedia user group that aims to identify and correct the gaps in knowledge representation and also seeks to increase the number of editors who belong to minorities underrepresented groups or other social groups who have not had access to information technologies. Working language is Spanish.||From Wikiesfera UG we intend to continue identifying and repairing the knowledge gap that exists in the Spanish Wikipedia as a way to also contribute to the Wikimedia Movement's 2030 strategy. Taking into account the large information gap related to women and other minority communities.||It will allow us to share the Wikiesfera UG experiences that since 2015 has achieved to create a stable community of female editors mainly. Also learn from other Affiliates and UG about how they create their community and what activities they carry out to contribute contribute to the Wikimedia Movement's 2030 strategy as well as establish partnerships with them to exchange learning or develop common projects.|

Out of the 10 movement strategies we have focused on increasing the Sustainability of our movement improving User Experience managing Internal Knowledge where we facilitate a culture of documentation of every project and establishing a movement-wide knowledge base and Identifying topics for impact as Wikimappers where we work with GLAMs (Galleries Libraries Archives and Museums) to bring high-quality historical maps to Wikimedia Commons combine existing Wikimedia components to create a maps environment (Wikimedia Commons Structured Data on Commons Wikidata OSM integration upload tools) and further develop missing open source tools like georeferencing established the Wikimaps community connect with experts enthusiasts and other open data actors.||The Wikimaps User Group aims to gather Wikimedia users engaged with a variety of activities with geographic information from across the movement. Since we work with anything regarding maps such as creating maps for Wikimedia Commons or working on geographical data such as adding coordinates to Wikipedia articles or creating WDQS query map views in Wikidata we will explore and innovate in Free Knowledge where we will be identifying policies that hinder knowledge equity especially for underrepresented communities ensuring equity in Decision-Making by creating and regional and thematic hubs across the globe experiment with projects for knowledge equity continuous experimentation technology and partnerships for content formats and devices and finally the engagement of third party ecosystems to create a more robust mapping architecture in a simplified format for users||We are a map mission aligned organisation that seem to have an indirect impact on all the Movement Strategies and our participation would help contribute to shape the future of the Wikimedia Movement by taking part in discussions around the implementation of the 2030 Movement Strategy and also creating awareness about how and location coordinates would make life very easier for the whole of humanity.|
|Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand||No||We have been running as a user group since 2020 with annual reporting but only established as the incorporated society Wikimedia Aotearoa and elected our first committee in March 2022. In the last two years as an informal user group we've run two national conferences numerous edit-a-thons and training workshops and set up monthly meetups in three cites and a national meetup online. Individuals have participated in 1Lib1Ref Wikimania WikiDataCon and two regional ESEAP meetings but we have had no formal structure until now. The new committee has agreed that engagement with Movement Strategy is one of our goals for 2022.||Wikimedia Aotearoa is having its first of two workshops to develop a multi-year strategic plan in May and determine how we engage with Movement Strategy. One priority we've already identified is engaging with the underrepresented groups Māori and Pacific Islanders both recruiting editors and improving content building on a current grant-funded editor training programme. New Zealand GLAM institutions are further ahead than most countries in reconciling copyright structures with indigenous intellectual property rights and cultural permissions and we have potential to help lead this process in the Movement.||Wikimedia Aotearoa would like to collaborate with other affiliates especially in Asia-Pacific so a regional hub is important to us. We've identified several priorities amongst the Movement Strategy initiatives:
1. developing localised training resources for newcomers especially regarding copyright 2. participating in thematic (GLAM) hubs building on our previous WMF grant-funded Wikipedian in Residence/at Large projects 3. raising Wikimedia awareness in NZ media and GLAM institutions (copyright and Commons crediting for media organisations guidelines for government institutions editing Wikipedia).
|Wikimedia Argentina||Yes||We have been involved in the definition of the 2030 strategy from 2017 to the present:

|Wikimedia Armenia||Yes||Throughout 2021 Wikimedia Armenia engaged in the Hub initiative of the Movement Strategy by actively participating in the CEE Hub discussions. Moreover for several years Wikimedia Armenia has organized local discussions of the Movement Strategy by hosting Armenian and Farsi wiki communities in 2019 and organizing discussions for the Armenian wiki community in 2020 and 2017.||As Wikimedia Armenia is interested in the planning and implementation processes of regional hubs we consider that we can provide support during these processes. Being in the CEE region having cultural and historical similarities and closely cooperating with other countries involved in this region WMAM can help in defining the structure needs direction and possible activities of this hub.||This is a great opportunity to deeply understand the ongoing processes of the Movement Strategy and the direction the movement is heading to. We consider that by participating in the Summit we will fully envision the future of the movement and the ways/tools which will be needed to motivate our community during the implementation of the Movement Strategy. Also this Summit will give us a chance to meet our colleagues from the CEE Hub discuss and closely work on the development and integration of the hub.|
|Wikimedia Australia||Yes||We have presented summaries of the Movement Strategy to our members at community meetings. Several members of our board have participated in the Global Conversations and in the recent Hubs Dialogs representing the ESEAP region. We have recently developed our own strategic plan which used the WMF Movement Strategy as a framework.||Wikimedia Australia could have a significant role in the regional hub development as a large chapter in the Asia and Oceania region.||As the time zone difference in our region has made it difficult to participate in some global events it would be great to get a global perspective on how other affiliates are engaging with the Movement Strategy implementation and get some ideas.|
|Wikimedia Bangladesh||Yes||In 2019 Wikimedia Bangladesh sent a representative to WMSUMMIT19 who actively participated in the discussion. Returning from that summit in June 2019 the chapter arranged a Wiki Salon in Rajshahi in an attempt to bring the voice forward who are not often heard. During 2020 and 2021 the chapter has been actively participating in the discussion around UCoC Global Councils Movement Charters and Regional Hubs.||Bangla Wikimedia community is the home base of Wikimedia Bangladesh. Upon considering the situation the chapter feels that the primary focus of the chapter should be on finding out the content gaps. It needs to innovate and/or adapt actionable plans to achieve higher knowledge equity. And to pursue that the chapter finds that Capacity Building and creating partnerships with other entities are also very important. The Chapter is already planning to make good rapport with various Education Institutes and engage more students via education programs.||The most important aspect of participating in the summit is learning from the experiences of peers. Knowing about the challenges they face and the solution they are coming up with.|
|Wikimedia Belgium||Yes||I have attended the Wikimedia conference every year since 2017 (as long as it was organised physically). I have contributed in writing on Meta about the strategy and have done feedback to the local chapter.||We are actively implementing the strategy. We actively participate with the HUB implementation.We became member of WikiFranca the Worldwide French speaking Wikimedia community. We will be member of Wikimedia Europe. We collaborate with all neighbouring countries and language communities.||We can better contribute to the strategy while participating in person.|
|Wikimedia Canada||Yes||Wikimedia Canada has regularly attended past Wikimedia summits and conferences where the Movement Strategy has been presented and developed. We have also actively participated in various consultations abut the movement and provided comments.||Last year we developed a draft strategic transformation plan that covers the next 4 years. Wikimedia Canada is in line with the Wikimedia 2030 Strategy. For one example Wikimedia Canada is in line with the Wikimedia 2030 Strategy and continues to evaluate and prioritize topics identified globally by the Wikimedia Movement. One of high-impact topic projects that Wikimedia Canada has organized in the past is the project “Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Weather Observations in Wikimedia Commons” which aims to import a century of weather data into the Wikimedia projects in order to enable its reuse to promote our meteorological heritage to influence the rest of the world to import similar data in open access and to try to address some of the climate change issues that affect us.

|Wikimedia Chile||Yes||Yes my chapter has participated in many global and regional Movement Strategy meetings in on-site meetings (like the previous Wikimedia Summit conferences) and online during the pandemic. We have also incorporated the Movement Strategy recommendations in our annual plans and we have led regional discussions on these topics.||During the last years our chapter has had an important regional articulation role regarding the Movement Strategy process and we want to keep having this role.||We think is very important that our chapter can create new and meaningful relations with our regional and global affiliates especially with those with similar perspectives regarding the Movement Strategy (same Movement Strategy recommendations prioritization for example). We seek to learn from other regional and global experiences on how to implement this process in our own programs and planning but we also want to propose new perspectives (from the Global South) to this discussion to have a process that could really be significant to our community.|
|Wikimedia Colombia||No||The reason is that my approach to the movement was less direct because my support was punctual in Wikimedia projects such as editions and improvements in Wikipedia. But now being on the board of directors of my local chapter I am willing to take advantage of my position to be more proactive.||Considering our local Colombian position which suffers from violence and where the clear opportunity to build a country in peace just and equitable goes hand in hand with access to free knowledge as a mechanism to overcome poverty; I think I can contribute ideas from this perspective. From how we can promote the promotion of Wiki projects to remote corners of the world to how we can make them more accessible to those who have fewer opportunities due to external factors such as violence.||With my background in telecommunications that is consistent with connecting the world to make knowledge more accessible my implementation of speak up culture to always be willing to share ideas and refute them when I disagree and the knowledge of my local Colombian context with its virtues and defects; I think I can enrich the discussion with proposals and ideas.
My participation would also be valuable to learn new points of view to make improvements in the local chapter.
|Wikimedia Community Ireland||Yes||Involvement in the previous Wikimedia Summits with 1-2 representatives and I was involved in the Capacity Building Working Group.||One of the most relevant elements to our work is knowledge equity creating a more sustainable movement and innovating in free knowledge. This is reflected in our work with historically marginalised groups with the Irish language community our processes and documentation practices and our commitment to innovation in how communities can meaningfully engage with Wikimedia projects.||Learning emerging best practice from across the movement finding new methods of capacity building sharing and leveraging as well as making connections that help us find partners for our work that has shared goals with other affiliates and groups.|
|Wikimedia Community User Group Georgia||Yes||Wikimedia UG Georgia was actively involved in the development of recommendations by the working groups we actively had a discussion within the community for this we also held a meeting with the community. In September 2019 a strategy summit was held in Tbilisi for the Georgian community where we provided our thoughts from our realities. We also continue to participate and make our own (maybe small) contribution to the development of initiatives such as the Hubs. Also our community has been actively involved in the first phase of the preparation of a Universal Code of Conduct which we welcome and are going to implement in our online and offline spaces.||Our community is small and unfortunately not everyone in the community speaks English (or even Russian) this is an obstacle to the involvement of the community in global initiatives. Our affiliation is a bridge and we actively bring all news and initiatives to the community. We are considering and implementing various initiatives with the community for example this year we will translate and implement a Universal Code of Conduct in our community and projects.||Face-to-face (in-person) meetings and live discussions are more effective for making decisions and getting information and I think that in this format the meeting will be the most effective. I will be able to convey the point of view of the entire community and receive useful information and advice for the implementation of initiatives locally. For small communities this will be a chance to be heard.|
|Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia||Yes||We habe organised some events that implement the Movement Strategy. We have focused on the indigenous community here in Malaysia hence this is inline with the strategy where we want to fund underrepresented community here.||I envision that our Affliate will empower more underrepresented community here in Malaysia especially the indigenous community here and give opportunities for them to document their knowledge and culture.||Participating this Summit will help me to better understanding of the Movement Strategy and also to ensure maximum effective outcome from implementing the Movement Strategy. |We are particularly keen to ensure that the needs and dynamics of small-language Wikimedia affiliates are appropriately represented in the implementation of Movement Strategy. Our ability to network in person with other larger Affiliates has been somewhat restricted since international in person gatherings were restricted in 2020.||Ensuring that we can discuss with other small language (and small in size) Affiliates to ensure that our concerns and specific realities are appropriately can also collaborate with other Affiliates who share these concerns and dynamics to provide direct representation rather than potentially condescending decisions intended to ensure inclusion which are not necessarily actively informed by those out in the field working with very limited resources.|
|Wikimedia Community User Group Math||Yes||We visually improved math formulae in Wikipedia by replacing pixeled PNG images with scalable SVG images and annotatable MathML data. This improvement had a significant positive impact on the user experience for articles containing mathematical formulae and paved the way towards more findability and accessibility of mathematical knowledge. More recently we enabled the possibility to link formulae in Wikipedia articles with the knowledgebase Wikidata to provide easy access to further information about the formula.||We aim to improve user experience and the internal knowledge management of mathematical information. In particular we are working on automatic annotations of math formulae to enable semantic search algorithms provide users with additional information about the formulae and support moderating mathematical content. Ultimately we aim to improve the machine readability of math in Wikipedia which has numerous practical applications such as providing math-to-speech options for visually impaired users.||Focusing on mathematical knowledge often puts us into a bubble with other like-minded researchers where it can be challenging to judge new ideas objectively such as providing additional information about math via pop-ups or hyperlinks. Hence we would greatly benefit from the feedback of other Affiliates on how embedded mathematical knowledge impacts the readability understandability findability and accessibility of information.|
|Wikimedia Community User Group Rwanda||Yes||Many members of our Community user group have been involved in global consultations regarding movement strategy over the last 2 years. Our affiliate has contributed to the discussions on the implementation of initiative 25 of Wikimedia 2030 Strategy: Regional and thematic hubs. Locally we have introduced strategy salons whose aim
was to initiate the local participation in the prioritization process in Rwanda. knowledge as a service - we have so far partnered with local institutions to implement various initiatives focused on training and developing skills and recruiting more people as contributors of knowledge. knowledge equity - we have improved the representation of traditionally underrepresented groups so that the sum of all human knowledge is reflected in a more even and thorough manner including issues of decolonization. The community is currently implementing the Grant in Africa great lakes region whose focus is Detailed Needs assessment in the Eastern DRC Burundi and Rwanda commonly related to Kinyarwanda and Kiswahili languages using French and English

Provide for Safety and Inclusion and this will be done through opening discussions to tackle the issue of exclusion of some minority groups such as LGBTQs. Ensure Equity in Decision-Making through partnerships and decentralization of decisions.
|Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka||Yes||Our affiliate has been involved in the initial conversations of the Movement Strategy.||As in previous scenarios we hope to share our views and thoughts in adopting the Movement Strategy and understanding how our affiliate can also align with the strategy better.||We hope to interact with similar usergroup members to learn and adopt best practices.|

|I envision my affiliate taking a great role in pushing forward the Movement Strategy activities not only in Tanzania but also in the East Africa Region especially in the formation of the East Africa Regional and Thematic Hub (EARTH)||Me participating in this Summit will give my affiliate an opportunity to meet new people working on similar areas of focus my community is engaging in and hence to use this opportunity to network discuss share experiences and learn new stuff from other amazing Wkimedians that I will meet them there. |Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey||Yes||Participation in conferences and sharing detailed ideas.||Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey is bravely continuing the work and encourages the people to contribute to free encyclopedia. We organize local and online meetings to inform the community. Local meetings and presentations in universities are organized to keep the community's view of Wikipedia to positive.||I am in the founding team of Wikimedia Community User Group in Turkey. I serve as a leader and teach ways to add unbiased reliable information to Wikipedia for the new users. By participating in the meeting I can master a more detailed strategy and convey this informations to the Wikipedia users.|
|Wikimedia Community User Group Uganda||Yes||In 2019 our affiliate organized the regional East Africa Strategy event in Kampala Uganda bringing together community leaders from Eastern Africa to discuss the movement strategy. We also held a strategy salon in Kampala to discuss the movement strategy as a User Group. Beyond that we have participated in several online engagements around the movement strategy.
In 2021 we organized the first online version of the Wiki Indaba regional event which also featured several sessions around the movement strategy providing a platform for the African Wikimedia communities to further engage and discuss the progress of the movement strategy.
|As the Wikimedia User Group Uganda we have identified strategy initiatives in which we would like to actively participate which we think are more relevant to our affiliate and also the affiliates in the region following our discussions at the East Africa Strategy Summit in 2019. These are Skills and Leadership Development Hubs and Governance.
Our role as an affiliate is to actively participate in the discussions and implementation of the prioritized initiatives through organizing activities and events around the implementation and actively participating in discussions and engagements at both global and regional levels.
|Participating in the summit will help us as an affiliate to add our voice to the discussion around the future of the Wikimedia Movement by advancing the ideas we started at the East Africa strategy summit and ensuring that our aspirations are aligned with the global implementation of the movement strategy. It will also help us learn what other affiliates are doing around the implementation of the movement strategy and connect with other individuals and groups with whom we can collaborate to advance the movement strategy initiatives.|

We are now participating as an affiliate especially in the areas of implementation and execution (e.g. active participation in the preparations of the European and CEE Hub). Last but not least we have included the whole strategy in the national strategy of Wikimedia CZ.
|Our strategic planning for 2021-24 was based on the direction and objectives of the 2030 Strategy and included the most relevant points for us at the time.
As mentioned above these are: - elements of diversity and access to newcomers - we always focus programs on them as well and on community diversity in terms of age (Senior and school programs) activities aimed at women and professionals - capacity building - we extend active community involvement - in the organisation of our activities (ambassadorship) sharing of know how and leadership community education - partnerships - strategies to attract and work with strategic partners. We are also actively involved in other implementation activities (as active developers we are preparing CEE and European Hub) and overall governance issues. We participate in all other strategic discussions and convey information to the entire Czech community encouraging its involvement.
|Face-to-face and concentrated working meetings are always the most productive. Keeping track of all the happenings regarding Strategy Implementation is nearly impossible we hope to fill in the white spaces and get the most information for our community. At the same time we are ready to be a valid part of all working discussions so we know how to best involve the larger part of the Czech community what and how to offer them well this is the most difficult task how to make the process accessible to all members of the broad Czech community.|
|Wikimedia DC||Yes||Several board and chapter members and staff have attended past Affiliates meetings. Our past officers Rosie Stephenson-Goodknight and Kirill Lokshin have been closely involved. We partner with other chapters for many events and online projects. On most SWAN calls a WMDC board member is in attendance. We help organize conference events which showcase Movement Strategy presentations.||As one of two official regional chapter affiliates in the US we actively partner with organizations agencies and institutions in the DC area and beyond. These partnerships result in 25-40 collaborative edit-a-thons each year. We also assist our partners with other ongoing projects and initiatives. For many event attendees we bridge the gap from passive reader to potential editor.
I’m WMDC’s only full-time staff member. Sometimes I’m the first Wikimedian that edithathon attendees meet. Therefore WMDC has the ideal audience to effectively implement user experience tools and practices as defined in the Strategy. It is important to include regional chapter affiliates in the planning process as there could be potential opportunities for collaboration and/or cooperation with the forthcoming hubs. As noted in the notes for March 22 Global Conversations (Hubs) 'A clear distinction between a Hub and affiliates was perceived as missing”. WMDC could help define this relationship.
|Like the Strategy itself WMDC’s main goals include improving user experience and increasing diverse representation. Too often we’ve found Wikimedia’s policies and practices to be inaccessible or intimidating for the potential users we are trying to reach. WMDC will give a voice to both organizations that represent institutional partners and new users who refrain from long-term engagement due to a lack of support.
By comparing our own experiences as well as those or our constituents’ with similar global affiliates we will be able to contribute to a plan for universal implementation. WMDC is interested in partnering with other affiliates to create and support Hub organizations for the US or North America and for GLAM affiliates.
|Wikimedia Deutschland||yes||We have supported, driven and co-organized Wikimedia 2030 from the beginning, and have dedicated 3 staff to implementation since 2021, activities listed under the next question.||Providing support to the governance reform and drafting of the Charter through research and consultation; UNLOCK Accelator for Innovation; supporting initiatives such as UCoC, Capacity Exchange, hosting the Wikimedia Summit 22 and co-thinking future Movement Strategy gatherings beyond the affiliate format (Global Assembly!). In our upcoming strategy process, we will connect our own strategy with Wikimedia 2030.||Connecting personally with especially those who are new to all this, smaller UGs, affiliates representing emerging or marginalized communities, to learn how their needs can best be met throughout implementation of MS and how WMDE can be of service. Yesterday I wrote that we have not been a part of the process - however we have been involved in the Strategy Process. We have been present in Berlin (wikimedia conference) while we were discussing this topic with the wider Wikimedia world. Also since a member of our NGO has been the architect of Movement Strategy process we have met him locally and received more individual input on how the process is progressing. However we have not been able to involve the local community very well and this is a place that definitely needs to be developed.
|Since we have a small enough chapter we could rather play a supportive role in the implementation of the Movement Strategy and express that support in our actions. We need to get our local community on board and head in the same direction.We could easily provide input about our local community which is rather passive than active. We would like to take the lead in implementing this in our local community and support it. Also since we are currently writing our own strategy we could easily put some broader strategic goals into our own strategy as well.||We would like to get some tips on the best ways of engaging our community on the topic of Movement Strategy and how to build interest in a broader meaning. As I mentioned we would like tips on how to involve the local community more. Learning from the experiences of others would probably help the most and so there would be a good research field on the ground.|
|Wikimedia France||Yes||Wikimedia France has participated in various important moments of discussions around the implementation of the 2030 strategy during international events online discussions and to organize strategic discussion workshops with our French community and in connection with our French-speaking partners
------(Second application from their ED) Wikimédia France has participated in several working groups its volunteers and staff have been organizing local meetups with the French and Francophone communities.
|We ensure the strengthening of our communities by organizing training and the exchange of skills between French-speaking members through the creation of a WikiFranca linguistic hub. We encourage the development of participation in Wikimedia projects in territories underrepresented on projects. We also strengthen the allies of the movement by forging partnerships with other organization. We actively protect project volunteers by setting up a free telephone line for psychological support but also by providing legal protection.
-----(Second application from their ED): We're notably trying to engage with underreprented communities and also trying to help other organisations such as WikiFrance or les sans pagEs. We're currently shaping our chapter's strategy and will ensure that we're considtent with the movement's strategy.
|We will be delighted both to share our initiatives our national strategy in pursuit of our movement's 2030 objectives but also to learn from other affiliates and learn more about their issues and see if we cannot make economies of scale by pooling our resources.

|Wikimedia Ghana User Group||Yes||Our affiliate has been very active in the Movement Strategy conversation from its inception during the first discussion at the Wikimedia Summit to hosting our own Strategy Salon. Around the same time the Movement Strategy Global conversations were ongoing on the 45 initiatives proposed by the movement during the strategy discussions. We also held our transition event as a user group to nominate which initiatives we would prioritise as a user group. This online conversation had nine people from our user group participating in the discussions and selecting initiatives 1 2 31 32 and 42.
|Our Affiliate has played a great role in the previous processes to get to where we have reached around the Movement Strategy discussions and now implementation.
Moving forward we are planning on hosting several Movement Strategy implementation events in other to bring the conversation to our community. All these implementation events we are putting together for the next round of our grant cycle since our old grant is still active. I am in active conversations representing my Affiliate in various discussions around Movement Strategy in the community. Leadership development is one of the key initiatives we are working around finding ways to host events around it.
|In participating in the summit we are looking at opportunities to partner with other Affiliates who have similar ideas around how we want to engage in the Movement Strategy implementation. The summit has always been a learning opportunity for our Affiliate and this particular one would not be any different especially with the movement strategy implementations.
The Summit would allow us to refine the ideas we have for the implementation events and seek meaningful collaboration in running peer sessions.
|Wikimedia Indonesia||Yes||Our chapter Wikimedia Indonesia has participated in Movement Strategy events and discussions. We also took part in discussing this strategy within ESEAP and national-level communities.||As one of the chapters in ESEAP region we believe we can drive and take ideas and recommendations from local community in Indonesia in specific. We might also provide specific case study from our experience and lead the implementation of the strategy in the region.||We might be able to help achieve some of the MS initiatives for our region. For example provide support for hub creation and empower developing communities. We would also like to learn diverse experiences from other international communities and chapters and see if we could accommodate the approach to our communities in the region.|
|Wikimedia Israel||Yes||Wikimedia Israel arranged a few meet-ups and VIP salon events in the early stages of the strategy process. Members of WMIL took for some part of the time part of the strategy's working groups as well as ongoing participation of the ED as part of the ED's forum.||WMIL is at the stage of renewing its own strategy which will be based on the movement strategy. WMIL hopes to see itself as a significant partner to implement regional and international projects such as developing and supporting the international GLAM's dashboard Arabic educational program and such.||Representing the affiliate(s) role and capabilities to fit and implement the movement strategy and better understanding of the future role of affiliates in regional and international projects\programs as it's expected according to the strategy charter so we can deploy and support them. As well as taking these directions back WMIL's new strategy process in order to better shape and fits our strategy accordingly.|
|Wikimedia Italia||No||Single members were involved in different stages of the Strategy but so far there was no involvement of the Chapter as a whole. As concerns single initiatives the affiliate was involved in the conversations about UCoC and the feedback phase in preparation for Phase 2 of UCoC.
The main obstacles for engaging are lack of information or direct communications and also language difficulties (Board members are not always fluent in English). To keep track of all discussions and conversations requires a lot of time a dedicated staff person would be needed but this is for the moment not sustainable.
|Aligning local strategy based on consultations and conversations with local stakeholders to the Movement Strategy is considered important.||Participating in the Summit could help in understanding how to better align local strategy local activities and the recently started process of impact evaluation with the Movement Strategy initiatives.|

|Wikimedia LGBT+||Yes||We have primarily been involved with addressing diversity equity and inclusion issues related to Movement Strategy as well as addressing the challenges of being a global loosely structured multilingual multicultural multinational user group.||Wikimedia LGBT+ is focused on ensuring that all Wikimedia spaces projects and planning processes are safe inclusive equitable experiences for everyone.||I personally have worked on UCOC and have notes from previous Movement Strategy meetings to build upon. However I will be representing Wikimedia LGBT+ as a whole and will bring feedback and ideas from the group as a whole to this session.

|Wikimedia MA User Group||Yes||Wikimedia Morocco User group was engaged in Wikimedia 2030 strategy since its beginning. We were part of the different community conversations that took place when the recommendations were produced. In particular we engaged with the strategy liaisons and gave feedback in several forms including organizing two strategy salons (one in 2019 in Mohammedia another in 2020 in Rabat) to dig deeper in the recommendations have a good understanding of them and also provide our comments and context to the writers.
Following on this engagement we took also part in several initiatives on the regional level implementing different parts of the strategy. These include participating in the research work for an Arabic speaking Hub and choosing selector of the MENA region for the MCDC committee.
|We think that our affiliate can have an important in implementing movement strategy from different angles. First we are part of three different regions all important for the movement: Arabic-speaking French-speaking and Africa. In all these regions hubs research is important in order to figure out how these centers are going to collaborate and operate. We are involved in different capacities in these regions and will continue supporting actively initiatives in this area.
More locally our affiliate have actively supported creating Wikipedias in local languages and succeeded in having two of them out of the incubator (Moroccan Arabic in 2020 Tachelhit in 2021). Following the important precepts of supporting underrepresented communities we would like to continue on this path and have different ideas of projects to implement in Morocco.
|My participation in the summit will allow me to meet fellow Wikimedians from different parts of the world. This is essential for us as we can learn more from the various initiatives happening elsewhere and share experiences opinions and insights. Moreover and with all Covid-19 challenges travelling was very complex (Especially in Morocco where borders where closed for a long time). Participating in the summit is very important so that I can meet members from our regional communities as we would like to brainstorm together on projects such as hub work that are difficult to coordinate online.|
|Wikimédia Magyarország (Wikimedia Hungary)||Yes||Affiliate members (including me) have participated in the various community and affiliate consultations held by the WMF and in the regional (CEE) hub discussions. I have participated in Movement Strategy planning in various roles (Working Group member and recommendation writer in the 2018-2020 phase member of the CEE Hub working group) although not as an affiliate representative but it helped our affiliate to stay informed and connected with the process.
In the last couple years our affiliate's main focus has been editor retention ( see  ) especially the retention and support of new editors which I see as part of implementing the strategy initiatives 'Systematic approach to improve satisfaction and productivity' and 'Resources for newcomers' (although at the time when our affiliate's strategic plan was created and accepted the Movement Strategy wasn't official yet so we didn't phrase it in those terms but the ideas behind it are the same).
|We'd like to continue our focus on editor retention and hope to better connect with others working on the relevant initiatives ('Systematic approach to improve satisfaction and productivity' and 'Resources for newcomers'). Our program has been designed from start for reusability on other wikis and we hope to get to the point soon where we can offer advice and tools for others.
We also intend to support the CEE Hub implementation process in what ways we can. I also hope we can play a role in work around the Misinformation initiative which given our chapter's geopolitical position is quite relevant for us. There are no concrete plans or group consensus behind this yet though.
|Hard to say from the very limited amount of information available about the Summit at this point but my hope is that 1) it will be a chance to connect with others working on / interested in the same initiatives and see if it makes sense to coordinate efforts 2) I want to learn and discuss if there is anything smaller chapters can do to help move the priority initiatives around movement governance forward 3) it will be a chance for cross-regional discussions around the Hubs initiative which has been lacking clarity 4) maybe it helps to get a better understanding of the feasibility and usefulness of potential disinformation-related work.|

|We are involved in this implementation both with people from our community who have contributed/are contributing their experience and knowledge in the UCOC and Movement Charter as well as being on the lookout for regional calls and discussions in the implementation phase.||By contributing our knowledge and experience and participating in and learning from the Summit discussions we hope to enrich our perspective so that we can properly align future plans with our own strategies. As an organization we have included three of the strategy's recommendations in our annual planning: Focus on people equity in decision-making and inclusion. Our five-year plan which is in preparation will be based on the Movement Strategy Principles.|
|Wikimedia Nederland||Yes||Wikimedia Nederland has had several people involved in the different task forces and helping to come to recommendations. We have also taken part in the discussions on the UCOC and have been actively involved in the creation of Wikimedia Europe and help organise the Quarterly Wikimedia European Affiliates Cooperation.||Wikimedia Nederland has always played an active role in the International Wikimedia Movement and will continue to do so. We are currently involved in the UCOC Capacity Exchange Wikimedia Europe and the Wikimedia European Affiliates Cooperation.||I would hope to meet up with the participants of the different initiatives I am involved in (such as the European efforts and the capacity exchange) to make more progress than we would in less focused online sessions.|
|Wikimedia New York City||Yes||Strategy has been part of many WMNYC events over the past few years and several of our current and former board members have participated in the process in both online discussions and in-person events. We have members on the UCoC drafting committee and Movement Charter drafting committee we have participated in past Summits we've had representatives at the Global Conversations we've been a leader in developing community conduct standards and many of our members have participated in on-wiki discussions about strategy and UCoC. We regularly engage our local community in matters of strategy building it into events like our annual Wiknic and WikiWednesday meetings. Finally we have been working with Barretto Consulting to undergo our own strategic planning process guided by movement strategy principles.||We are nearly finished with our own strategic planning process which is informed by the discussions and recommendations coming out of the movement strategy and hope to begin its implementation this fall. We will continue to engage with movement strategy through hubs movement charter UCoC and structured and unstructured conversations and we will continue to engage our membership during implementation and beyond. At WMNYC we have regular discussions about issues like sustainability safety inclusion equity and innovation. Our board of directors as well as other stakeholders are actively invested in building capacity through the addition of paid staff and through more structured partnership models. We are always exploring new ways to engage our community and have demonstrated that we can engage/activate underrepresented groups and knowledge areas.||The Summit takes place around the time we will begin to implement our chapter's strategy and an opportunity to discuss share and probe our plans with representatives of the broader movement would be extremely valuable. Most importantly although we are active in many areas of the movement we mostly think locally. A forum to exchange ideas and learn from peers around the world -- gaining a better understanding of how different groups are interpreting and applying the strategic ideas -- would be invaluable.|

|Wikimedia Nigeria User Group||Yes||We have held several movement strategy discussion events in the past..
We started with the first Movement strategy discussion meetup here() in 2017 also in August 2019 we had a strategy discussion focused on Youth at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) here () and also in September 2019 we had a strategy discussion at Lagos and Ilorin here (). In most of our in-house discussions and Naija office hour; we have also prioritized the movement strategy discussion.
|My affiliate role in the implementation of movement strategy is summarized in the Annual Plan () which prioritized Investment in Skills and Leadership Development Identifying Topics for Impact and Innovate in Free Knowledge.
As the projects director; I will be driving and implanting these recommendations as this is most required in the community. And will go a long way to increase capacity and user experience for users within the community
|Participating in the Summit will further help the Usergroup to contribute to the Movement strategy implementation by providing networking options which will avail the opportunity of identifying topics for impact and also approaches for innovations to better strengthening the community. Also it will further increase the skills/knowledge of the representative (project director) which will inturn use to train other members of the community and hence increase investment in skills and leadership being the first Annual Plan program.|
|Wikimedia Norge||Yes||Our Executive Director was part of the Diversity working group. We are also currently active in setting up the Wikimedia Language Diversity Hub which ties in to several of the strategic recommendations.||We are already taking on an active role in the field of language diversity with the Wikimedia Language Diversity Hub work (in collaboration with people from several different affiliates).||It would help give us more ideas about what we as an affiliate can do in the short and long term to see this process through and give us the opportunity to exchange ideas and approaches with partner affiliates and potentially find more affiliates to work with in our international work.|
|Wikimedia Österreich||Yes||WMAT has been supporting the Movement Strategy process from its beginnings despite our limited staff and time resources. We played an active role in writing/working groups which led to the strategy text specifically around organizational development and community support issues. Then we contributed to its implementation on various levels: we implemented the Movement Strategy in our own organization and communities we continuously provided feedback and we facilitated several global meetings most recently around the Universal Code of Conduct.||WMAT’s multi-year strategy (2022–2025) has been aligned with the Movement Strategy. It states that “we actively contribute to the development of sustainable structures for cooperation and fair and equitable distribution of resources in the global Wikimedia movement”. This year a major focus is on a strategy implementation project around the Volunteer Supporters Network (VSN) a working group of Wikimedia affiliate staff members which serves as a hub-like structure. This project addresses the following Movement Strategy initiative clusters: “Regional & thematic hubs” “Invest in Skills and Leadership Development” “Funding for underrepresented communities” and “Increased awareness about the Wikimedia Movement”.||The Summit takes place at a time when our VSN strategy implementation project is mature enough to share important learnings and still flexible enough to give it new directions dependent on input gained at the Summit. We also hope to gain new and to strengthen existing alliances regarding Strategy implementation in its different forms and to benefit from a deepened shared understanding of where the Movement Strategy should lead us as a movement. We expect both “formal” (conference sessions) and “informal” (water-cooler chatting) communication with other Summit participants to be very helpful in this regard.|
|Wikimedia Polska||Yes||WMPL conducted a Movement Strategy Salon on Sept 7 2019 funded as a WMF grant submitted an opinion on UCoC implementation and facilitated a WMF Board election. Movement strategy was discussed with members on several occasions and remains a concern of the Board.
 The Chair (Michał Buczyński) remains actively involved in the strategy: member of the Resource Allocation WG representing the group in Berlin and Stockholm making statements and currently participating in the Movement Charter Drafting Comm and the CEE Hub steering group. Acting ED (Natalia Szafran-Kozakowska) acts within VSN and participates in the VSN Hub.  The Chapter participates in the CEE Hub VSN Hub and other hub conversations.

|Wikimedia Portugal||Yes||We have been involved since 2018 in previous Wikimedia Summits we hosted a Strategy Salon in 2019 to discuss the draft recommendations organized a 'Festa da Lusofonia' event to discuss the recommendations in conjunction with other Portuguese speaking affiliates and interested parties and have been involved in discussions related to implementation of Hubs one of the current key initiatives namely with the discussion around Wikimedia Europe.||Wikimedia Portugal has been strengthening its sustainability having recently hired our first staff a Wikimedian-in-Residence at the University of Lisbon thanks to funding from the Wikimedia Foundation. We will continue this trend by hiring a coordinator (in a similar role as an executive director) later this year to organize events and fundraising which follows recommendations 1 (increase the sustainability of the movement) and 6 (invest in skills and leadership development). Having full-time staff will allow us to be more heavily involved in implementation discussion as these were too time consuming for volunteer board members but with support from the board.||Contact with other affiliates is of utmost importance for Wikimedia Portugal to be able to contribute meaningfully to Movement Strategy implementation. It will allow us not only to know which initiatives are actively being pursued but also understand where our particular skills are most needed and which ones gather the most consensus or are more beneficial to our own strategic goals.|
|Wikimedia RU||Yes||We actively participated in the discussion of strategy development at all events held by the Wikimedia Foundation (annual Wikimania conferences Wikimedia Summits CEE Meetings etc.). Many of our proposals have been included in the Strategy.||Over the past year Wikimedia Russia has developed the textbook 'Introduction to Wikipedia' () which is already being taught at three universities in the country. We created an online course on editing Wikipedia in September 2021 ( ) which has already been taken by more than 1500 people to date. We hold competitions for writing articles on Wikipedia in Russian and other 25 languages of Russia (in which more than 18 thousand articles were written in 2021 alone and more than 80 thousand all the time: ) . And much more.||I would like to learn more about the work of other chapters and user groups and use their experience in Russia.
Unfortunately now Wikipedia in Russia is under threat of being blocked by Roskomnadzor. I hope that by the beginning of the Summit Wikipedia in Russia will still be available.
|Wikimedia Serbia||Yes||Wikimedia Serbia was among the first affiliates to recognize and support the Strategic direction since 2017 and has been relatively engaged within the process according to our capacities. Furthermore regarding the Movement Strategy recommendations we have been working on increasing the inclusion of vulnerable groups within our projects investing in community's skills development and mapping the internal knowledge of the members of our community which can prove useful in the broader concept of the regional needs database that is being built within the CEE Hub that has been established.||Giving the voice to the underrepresented minorities vulnerable social groups and empowering women have been Wikimedia Serbia's goals in the past years and it has culminated this year with employing a staff member specifically designated for focusing on this cause. A significant aspect of it also involves the engagement of other affiliates in our cause which bridges content gaps and promotes cooperation and Movement's growth.
Our participation in CEE Hub enables us to inspire other affiliates within the region to engage in similar activities and projects based on our experience which in turn helps develop other local communities and strengthens the bond within the CEE region.
|There are many aspects in which we haven't been engaged yet and hearing other affiliates' stories and advices can inspire us to get involved and implement them within our community. This event would be a great insight into how the implementation is ongoing globally in both formal and informal conversations with other representatives. We would appreciate to be a part of it and we are grateful for the initiative of organizing a live event dedicated to the Movement's further steps.|
|Wikimedia Small Projects in Spanish User Group||No||We need more help in implementing the affiliates' mission on the MS.||As a group with the mission of improve another projects than Wikipedia Commons and Wikidata we can innovate in the general knowledge and evaluate interate and adapt.
Would be possible engage more users in the movement if we view their interest of contribution. We need to hear them and act in consequence. Participation will increase if we take them into account as valuable cogs and not as disposable tools.

|Wikimedia Stewards User Group||Yes||The WMSUG is the only affiliate which represents Wikimedia functionaries. These are fundamental in the concept of UCoC development and enforcement which is part of the MS Principle 3 Provide for Safety and Inclusion (  ). For inception of the UCoC WMSUG members helped organize the 2019 Thriving in Safety Space at Wikimania (
 ) were invited to several calls with WMF about the design of the UCoC (  ) and still play a crucial role in enforcement of the UCoC due to the nature of the its members (  ). Our experiences are unique and are valued by a close collaboration with the WMF in monthly calls and joint mailing lists.
|The WMSUG plays a key role in the enforcement of the MS Principle 3 Provide for Safety and Inclusion (  ) in particular the UCoC. Due to a lack of governance in global conflict resolution our user group often stepped in when decision had to be made or enforced as our body is one of the few ones which is elected by a global community. In order to establish a good transation while still keeping active roles in the most severe cases together with WMF our group is will and has to be in very close contact with the global community as well as the responsible WMF teams. The implementation of Principle 3 cannot work without our collaboration.||Without a good connection between groups which act on a local resp. global level our movement cannot create the kit it needs to shape Wikimedia's vision. Currently we see a gap between local interests and global activities. However our group is built from local communities but serves the global community. We are experienced in translating local interests to WMF and other affiliates in workshops as well as explaining global needs to the local communities which have elected us. We intend to continue these activities by building bridges with our activities bet at at the Summit and elsewhere in the Wikiverse.|

We are closely following the development of strategy work and in part we have also been involved. We are also following the strategy work of other Affiliates.||It is very important. We use it as a basis for our own strategy work and it helps the Wikimedia Foundation achieve its goals worldwide.||It is really important to have a discussion with the representatives of the various countries on the strategy. |Wikimedia Taiwan||Yes||I joined the discussion on the Movement Strategy in several sessions in WMCON 2018 and attended the Diversity Working Group in 2018. This experience helped me a lot when sharing and promoting our views with non-Wikimedians in the past years. People from Wikimedia Taiwan has a long history on the Movement Strategy worked closely with the foundation including Jamie Lin ShangKuan Liang-chih and many more. In the past year Wikimedia Taiwan worked with Vivien Chang on the Movement Strategy on several issues: 1. The Universal Code of Conduct (UCOC): Discussions and votes. 2. The WMF Board of Trustees elections: The diversity the rules and the expectation from our local community. 3. The Hubs Dialogue on The Global Conversations.||Wikimedia Taiwan is one of the most active affiliate in the east and south-east Asian-Pacific region (ESEAP). We can do more beyond ourselves in building consensus.||By participating the Submit we would like to get a closer and deeper understanding on the movement strategy. |Wikimedia Thailand is a small Chapter and isolated from the mainstream Western movements. Interactions and representation at Wikimedia Summit help reconnect us to the rest of the movements. I was on the very first steering group to shape the process after which two staff members joined working groups one as the Chair. Two of the affiliate leaders participated in the working group we attend the global conversations and currently some members are drafting some thoughts for a MS grant.||We support the implementation of different recommendations and initiatives such as the UCoC resource allocation empowering participant and developing the leadership. We try to make use of what benefits and fits our community as a whole. I myself am working on implementing an initiative were I got a grant for Skill Development Needs Assessment For Arabic Wikipedia and Arabic Wikisource.||The summit is a great chance to come and learn listen and share experiences and thoughts. By talking to people we could think of collaborations among affiliates to work on implementing the initiative of common interest. |Wikimedians for Offline Wikis UserGroup||Yes||The past two years or so it has been a very light engagement as a UserGroup since we are a small group most of us are already involved in other uaergroups and we are not geographically based.
We mostly had discussions between members shared announcements for the different steps (such as votes) and were primarily involved (as a UG) during the first phase « Strategic Direction ». Our focus is to make sure those with no internet connexion or limited connexion be involved and impacted by our collective work.

Typical projects associated with the offline are Kiwix (distribution of offline content) or WikiFundi (editing wiki content in poorly connected areas).
|On sessions dedicated to issues related to Identify Topics for Impact and Innovate in Free Knowledge we could bring our unique perspective of working training recruiting informing people in poorly or non connected situations. Note that this is not limited to economically strained areas but also targets populations living in places where Freedom of Speech and access to neutral knowledge is not possible (Ref: number of download of offline wikipedia in Russia the past month).
The group is small and volunteer based so its ability to actually get *very* involved in the process is limited. However I believe the UG can bring insights and networks that might benefit the implementation process.
|Wikimedians in Residence Exchange Network||Yes||Many participants in the Wikimedians in Residence Exchange Network (WREN) have been involved in global consultations regarding movement strategy over the last 5+ years. WREN has provided feedback to the Content Partnerships Hub work which has GLAM (galleries libraries archives and museums) engagement as a primary thrust area. Some have also been the most committed or the only local participants in their contexts and have been involved in implementation initiatives. There is a great overlap between the membership of WREN and those who engage with or lead the SWAN (Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network) calls on a monthly basis. |Wikimedians of DR of Congo User group||Yes||With a team of 4 people we represented the country (as an Affiliate) at the East Africa Strategic Summit 2019 in Uganda.
Afterwards it was a question of giving feedback to the community when we returned to the recommendations and the strategy of the movement. And during French-speaking consultations in mid-January and mid-February 2020 we organized consultations to involve the group and make it participate in the strategy of the movement.
|In this implementation of the movement of the strategy the role of our affiliate would be initially the popularization of the strategy of the movement (recommendations initiatives priority principles) if possible on the extent of the country and in the second time the implementation of the strategy of the movement according to the direction orientation. Locally we are considering much more recommendations on increasing the sustainability of the movement investing in development and capacity building also improving the user experience. On the initiatives side we focus on the first 3 initiatives: Movement Charter improving the user experience and capacity building.||The participation of our affiliate in this summit would enormously boost the affiliate in the implementation of the movement strategy in the sense of: sharing experience with different affiliates (advanced in the implementation of the movement strategy) and actors of the movement's strategy would provide tremendous support and capacity building.

|As an affiliate Implementing a movement strategy really challenging job for me. Working few recommendations/Principales sharing my experience.
1) We will implement (Increase the Sustainability of our Movement) depending on the need for community and try to convert newcomers into long-term contributors. We will adopt more robust long-term and equitable approaches toward generating and distributing financial resources among different stakeholders in our Movement 2) We will improve UX documentation (Structure) and accessibility. We find in our research most volunteers do not convert as long-term contributors because it is not UX friendly. In partnership and third-party API integration we have to support runtime testbeds for hand-on. 3) I will try to create an all needful document library in one place for newcomers. We will work if the foundation shares such resources it will help all volunteers and it will be trusted information to all volunteers and newcomers.
|This event gives such a platform where people are coming together (thought out the globe) to attend this event. I will get the best platform so I can communicate with multiple affiliates in person where I can discuss my issue with multiple affiliates and understand what issues they face. HOw to overcome/get a solution on the issue.
I will get a better understanding of movement strategy and implementation improvements as well. Most of the time not being able to find exact resources to discuss the issue might be after my event and my communication contact will grow. Also I have some thoughts on improving a few processes I will get a platform/contact to discuss. I hope this process will speed up If I attend this event.
|Wikimedians of Los Angeles||No||The pandemic. Enthusiasm has been hard to generate and harder to maintain. Without in-person meetups it's been difficult to communicate and provide info on the Movement Strategy; a unified goal is critical and individual enthusiasm has been hard to generate and harder to sustain.||We have tremendous resources in Los Angeles and subject matter experts that are willing and excited to offer their guidance. For example: entertainment articles are a major source of entry for readers; 13 of the top 25 most-read articles on Wikipedia-en this week are related to entertainment. We have a significant pool of potential new editors and an only-in-LA ability to to attract them. Wikipedia Day gives us a great platform; we have sexy and engaging speakers that draw audiences. Entertainment is my thing but we have editors with various passions and expertise. (Recommendations #1 2 and 8.)
(My personal goal is to better educate new users and as such improve their experience. We need to stop driving away editors. I want to fire up the efforts to keep people from being bitey and mean to new users.)
|As previously noted it has been difficult to rally the LA troops. As the pandemic becomes less limiting we can educate and engage people by talking about how we can contribute to the movement strategy. It gives editors a tangible goal and a new understanding and perspective on Wikimedia's purpose and the power of free and open knowledge. |Wikimedians of Romania and Moldova||Yes||Members of our group have been contributing to discussions before the strategy was adopted and made the strategy landing page available in Romanian.||As a Working Group we have discussed future projects and directions that continue our commitment to sustaining open knowledge and knowledge equity. We have currently submitted two grants (biggest grants for the group so far) that will allow us to focus on bringing more women among our editors (as we will be working with librarians that are more than 90% women in Romania) and encourage open knowledge access.
We plan to make as much as we can from the Movement documents available in Romanian for our non-English speaking community of editors to access. Moreover we have been active in the effort to support open culture in Romania and plan to continue to do this following the guidelines set out by the Movement strategy.
|We are eager to understand how Wikimedians communities that do not speak English and do not have a strong organizational structure will be engaged in the implementation process. We ourselves are growing and developing a more solid and inclusive structure for our community of editors and we hope to pilot initiatives that provide insights into empowering such communities.
We are also interested in contributing to the development of the CEE Hub. Since the CEE Hub will be the main regional community support structure developed following the Movement strategy guidelines we want to understand how we can better contribute in making this Hub a success.
|Wikimedians of Slovakia User Group||Yes||We took part in the discussion on Meta and in Telegram groups and tried to provide feedback on proposals that were put forward. That was case especially in our interview about Hubs with Maciej Nadzikiewicz in September 2021. We also inform our Slovak Wikipedia's community about this issue.||We would like to take part especially in the discussion on establishing Hubs and grant strategy since we as a volunteer-only affiliate would be able to provide useful feedback and suggestion for setting up the Hubs. Our volunteer-only status brings out unique challenges in our work which could help to tailor the Strategy more to the needs or new and emerging as well as underrepresented Wikimedia communities.||It would provide us with more useful suggestions and examples to make the Strategy implementation smoother and substantially more beneficial to the movement in Slovakia and possibly also Central European region.|
|Wikimedians of Tamazight User Group||Yes||Wikimedia Tamazight was actively involved in the development of recommendations by the working groups we actively had a discussion within the community for this we also held a meeting with the community. In October 2019 a strategy summit was held in Mostaganem for the Tamazight community where we provided our thoughts from our realities. Also our community has been actively involved in we also worked on sharing the Universal Code of Conduct and we have done first steps to implement Wikimedia Community.||Our community is small and unfortunately not everyone in the community speaks English this is an obstacle to the involvement of the community in global initiatives. But we have 2 members of the group in the Draft committee they will represent us in all what will happen in the future in the movement.||Face-to-face meetings are more effective for taking or making decisions and gethering/getting information and this format is the most effective. I will be able to convey the point of view of the entire community and receive useful information and advice for the implementation of initiatives locally. |Wikimedians of the Uzbek language User Group||Yes||The Wikimedians of the Uzbek language User Group despite being relatively new affiliate has been actively participating in Movement Strategy activities. We encourage users of wiki in Uzbek to participate in surveys and discussions of Movement Strategy. Currently we are having discussions with Wikimedians in Central Asia the idea of establishing a regional hub which is one of the initiatives from Movement Strategy recommendations.||As aforementioned our user group has been actively participating in Movement Strategy activities and we'll keep up to increase the group's engagement with Movement Strategy and I'll cite some areas of interest from the prioritized initiatives below: skills and leadership development (global approach for local skills development) awareness (increased Central Asian users' awareness about the movement) improve users experience etc.|
|Wikimedians of Turkic Languages User Group||Yes||Wikimedians of Turkic Language User Group unites all Turkic-speaking communities and affiliations (not all communities have their own affiliations). For the development of our communities the Turkic UG conducts various projects and programs. Our user group which supports the Turkic-speaking communities held meetings on the initiatives of the movement strategy (including UCoC Hubs elections to the BoT WMF). Unfortunately not everyone in the Turkic communities knows English and our support in this matter is critical.
It should be noted that our group actively supported the Turkic communities during the discussions of UCoC.
|The Turkish-speaking community is very large more than 130+ million people in the world speak Turkic which in turn indicates a great potential for the development of projects in these languages. We will support all communities in their development and help them implement the recommendations from the Movement Strategy. We will actively conduct meetings and trainings on various topics based on the recommendations and we will support constantly in the implementation of programs. We will promote the development of local communities and affiliations in the region.||Face-to-Face meetings have always been most effective during decision-making or for any implementation of decisions and recommendations. By participating I want to share mine and our community's ideas with the global community. I want to convey our ideas to everyone and for this personal meetings are important. And also face-to-face meetings will help us get more specific information which I will later convey to our community in our language.|
|Wikimedians of United Arab Emirates User Group||Yes||He have organised several times discussion about a regional hub in the MENA region. We setup an event about the strategy with some the most active Wikimedians in our region. We have not participated on the working group because we was a new UG for that time.||Our community is smallbut we are growing every day and maybe in the nearest future we will be the first chapter of the region. Our affiliation is a bridge and we actively bring all news and initiatives to the community. |Wikimedians of Western Armenian Language User Group||No||The Wikimedians of Western Armenian Language User Group (WAL) has been unable to take part in MS-related activities in an official capacity for various reasons. Firstly due to our UG being a very newly-recognized user group (late 2020) we've barely had time to simply set up internal structures deepen our roots grow our communities host local events workshops talks virtual meetings. Second the Western Armenian language has been present at numerous MS activities since Wikimania 2017 but as a part of Wikimedia Armenia as our language did not yet have its separate Wiki and therefore its separate UG. Finally now that the dust has settled our UG is looking to expand both its reach and impact and help the WMF and the Wiki community at large in collaborating with MS development strategies.||Our UG has many plans that follow the 10 recs of the MS. Firstly we intend to organize workshops/WikiCamps to teach editing to larger audiences. We aim to create an anonymous reporting portal for members of our community for any complaints; also ensure abiding by the CoC as a UG and guarantee gender balance within our structures. Our decision-making processes will be open to all UG members for suggestions/amendments. We will coordinate with schools GLAMs and affiliates. We'll urge our UG to partake in various workshops to enrich their individual and UG skillsets. Internal knowledge will be public to all UG members. Certain UG members will be elected to update info on Wikis based on key developments. We will advocate for looser notability restrictions for underrepresented communities. Finally we will evaluate our actions as we grow.||Our User Group can play a crucial role in voicing the concerns of underrepresented communities especially since we deal with a global language. Our UG can also diversify and uplift smaller community roles when developing key MS implementation steps such as when drafting recommendations the CoC and guaranteed equity. Our UG can become a stakeholder to coordinate with other affiliates and non-affiliates across CEE and beyond. We can advocate investing in language training especially when dealing with global but smaller languages. These are only primary areas where our UG can contribute to helping the MS grow in its processes of implementation.|
|Wikimédiens du Bénin User Group||Yes||Yes our affiliate has already participated in several of the movement strategy activities and events. For the drafting of the Wikimedia 2030 Strategy Recommendations Document as part of a Wikimedia 2030 Strategy Fair three activities were carried out in two cities in Benin on February 1 2020 August 24 2020 and August 30 2019 in Cotonou and Parakou.||Our affiliate will act as an ambassador within our community

|The participation of our Affiliate at the summit allows us to better understand the Strategy of the Movement to better disseminate it within our community through education information and communication. In addition it allows us to meet other people and forge other partnerships to develop other Wikimedia projects for the happiness of the community in Benin.|
|Wikimedistas de Bolivia||Yes||During 2017 and 2019 we held different conversations to identify the needs of the wiki community and the allied and related communities with free knowledge and how Bolivia can contribute to the transformation of Wikipedia towards a broader horizon that maintains its proactive spirit and focused on the change.||We see our role as very important and central in the region since we are working continuously and committed to achieving new visions spaces and working paradigms that arise from the different indigenous nations of Bolivia and their involvement with culture in all the breadth of the world. concept.

|Making alliances and learning work strategies and methodologies from other affiliates and their shared vision of the world and free knowledge as a natural result of human interaction. Our group wants to work on new initiatives that can bring together local and traditional ways of building knowledge.|
|Wikimedistas de Uruguay||Yes||We've been involved in the discussions about Regional Hubs. We wrote a grant proposal (that still needs some refinement) to do a needs assessment on the needs for a Regional Hubs for Latin America: . We've also been involved in several conversations about topics for impact. We are also aware of the other areas included in Movement Strategy and working towards bringing some of those principles into our way of conducting our affiliate.||We believe Wikimedistas de Uruguay is in a unique position to help with the implementation of Regional Hubs and to implement innovative initiatives around topics for impact. Currently we are on our planning phase to define a better strategy for the affiliate and we aim to align our work better with Movement Strategy.||Most of the members (be it staff or volunteers) were involved in the past in previous editions of the Wikimedia Summit. After some internal problems that were solved with the Affiliate moving from a chapter to a user group our group needs to get back on track and be present on the conversations that are important for affiliates.|
|Wikimujeres||Yes||We have participated in as many meetings as possible about Strategy 2030 because we strongly believe in its goals: to promote equity in knowledge to innovate in free knowledge and to expand the global scope of the Wikimedian Movement its diversity and impact. Since 2021 and within the implementation process of Strategy 2030 we have participated in the selection of the Recommendations and subsequently in the Global Conversations. We also have participated in the UCOC and the Movement Charter discussions.
Now we are involved in creating Spanish-speaking region Hub the European Hub and the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Hub all of which are ongoing. (As editor of the WP Catalan I also participate in the Language Diversity Hub).
|We know that the voice and work of women are necessary and we do not want to miss the opportunity to contribute to creating this essential infrastructure of the free knowledge system for 2030.
Statistics show the low participation of women and from Wikimujeres we hold meetings and debates to understand the causes of their early abandonment in editing. In our workshops and sessions at the university we teach to discuss and negotiate with the community and above all not to give up and continue. We talk about how the Strategy wants to implement new rules to change the global knowledge flows that constantly skew Wikipedia and how to include all kinds of diversity so that the result can be more representative worldwide and Wikipedia from playing the role intended for it.
|It is imperative to learn how to explain what the 2030 Strategy is and its implementation in an engaging way. I need to take from this Summit skills and resources that will help me convince editors that they need to get involved to make Wikipedia better. I need ideas to shake up the editing community that only has a screen in front of them and can't see beyond it or know anything else.
As a volunteer I am very convinced that implementing the strategy is extremely important but I realise I don't know how to convey it.
|Wikipedia & Education User Group||Yes||The Wikipedia & Education User Group hosted a Prioritization Event among our members in December 2020 (notes here: ). Our chair LiAnna Davis has also participated in numerous Movement Strategy Global Conversations over Zoom and past Wikimedia Summits. She also served as the U.S. and Canada’s selector for the Movement Charter Drafting Committee. Members of our group have also given feedback on the potential of a global education thematic hub.||As our prioritization event we identified our top priorities as recommendations 6 9 and 2 and our top initiatives as 33 41 11 31 and 36. Since this event we’ve launched a new mentorship program where we pair experienced education program leaders with those interested in learning from them which is directly in line with Initiative 31. We wrapped up the first pilot of our mentorship program in early 2022 and hosted a mentorship pair to discuss their experiences in our March Open Meeting. We’re in the process of re-launching our next round of this program. As the program that brings 10.4% of all new active editors globally to our projects we also have a deep understanding of the user experience for new editors across languages and projects and we’d like to help support development of resources for newcomers as well as engaging in e-learning opportunities.||Our members are nearly always also members of a regional affiliate where their education programs are run from. We’re a great model of a centralized global collaboration group that can advocate for the needs of a particular program’s leaders ensuring prioritization discussions that happen at the summit keep thematic needs in mind not just regional needs. Given education is such a major part of our movement we believe our participation will help ensure the global needs of education program leaders can be incorporated into discussions of implementation of the Movement Strategy.|
|Wikipedia + Libraries User Group||Yes||Members of the WLUG Steering Committee have been following Movement Strategy developments since attending Wikimania 2017.||Our group seeks to assist librarians and information professionals worldwide engage with Wikimedia projects and incorporate Wikimedia projects into their work and classroom activities. This year our focus is on outreach to and feedback from our members. Knowledge and participation with the Movement Strategy ensures access to initiatives of importance to the overall community. We will be able to disseminate the information to a wide group as the WLUG is a global affiliate.||Participation in the Summit allows our representative direct and primary knowledge regarding updated Movement Strategy discussions as well as the opportunity to present from a library and information professional perspective. This shared knowledge will be further communicated to the WLUG community with emphasis and encouragement to continue discussions and participation in Movement Strategy. We will encourage participation from our worldwide members.|
|Wikipedians of North Caucasus User Group||Yes||Our group works very actively not only with peoples of North Caucaus but also with other language and ethnic minorities of Russia. We participated in Russian and international Wikimedia events it order to understand the Movement Strategy better and to share our experience.
For example during Wikimedia Summit in Berlin we talked to other wikimedians from Caucasus (not only from Norhern Caucasus but from South Caucasus - i.e. Armenia Azerbajan Georgia as well) and sparkled the idea of the international Wiki Loves Caucasus that was then held several times. Also representatives of the Wikipedians of North Caucasus User Group made numerous reports on the activities (including report at Community Growth space of Wikimania 2019) and our representatives were speakers or organizers of the events related to liguistic minorities in Wikiconference 2019 2020 and 2021.
|The Norh Caucasus is a very diverse and culturally rich region underrepresented in the world information sources.
I think that it is very important to help linguistic minorities to share all sum of their knowledge in their languages.
|We have shared our experience in the past which we are going to reiterate and also we have new experience and ideas.
All of these seem important to consider in the Wikimedia movement strategy and so we would like to share them.
|Yoruba Wikimedians User Group||Yes||My community was involved in the Joint Review of the Movement Strategy Recommendations to determine what aspect of the recommendations should be prioritized for the Nigerian community.

|The Yoruba Wikimedians User Group as a recognized affiliate and a more structured group will facilitate various discussions among members of the Yoruba Wikipedia to effectively implement the movement strategy. My community will provide the technical support and other resources needed to achieve these. In May the Yoruba Wikimedians User Group will facilitate an in-person meeting of sysops and other experienced members of the Yoruba Wikipedia community on the implementation of the UCoC and organize an on-wiki discussion around the implementation of the Movement Strategy.
The Yoruba Wikimedians User Group will design a safety assessment and execution plan. As a form of capacity building, we will train our members on how to deal with harassment on Wikipedia
|Participation in the summit would provide the representative of the Yoruba Wikimedians the opportunity to learn more about the movement strategy and its implementation plan. They would have the privileged to meet and network with other movement leaders and experienced members of the Wikimedia community and acquire new skills that would be passed on to members of the Yoruba Wikipedia community. This would be helpful for us to effectively contribute to Movement Strategy implementation|
