Harassment workshop

Greetings! You are receiving this message because, at some point in the past, you have participated in a discussion around the topic of harassment. The Support and Safety team is holding a series of consultations gathering feedback on the best potential solutions to the problem. The next stage is a workshop where we hope to narrow the focus to individual actionable ideas and explore how to bring some of these ideas to life.

Plagiarism detection

Hi! You voted for improving plagiarism detection as an important suggestions in the community wishlist survey last year. I'm pinging people who showed interest in that task to tell them we have some suggestions for how things could look, if you'd like to glance at them and give us some feedback. They're available here: phab:T120435#2266283. It's easiest if comments are left in Phabricator, since that's where much of the development is happening, but they can be left on Meta too, of course. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 17:26, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Steward Global Lock Request

Hi, I noticed your comment on the request for a lock. I think your comment is what a steward was waiting for. They normally look at the "CA". Usually the easiest is those who have multiple wiki blocks. In that case, it would be sufficient if you provided similar edits to the cross wiki vandalism; your edits are more than enough. All stewards need is mention 1 account to another and they will look into the edits. I hope that helps. Pyrusca (talk) 06:13, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

That's good to know. I suppose next time I can streamline my report a bit and include less evidence. It's easy enough to provide it, though, because I've been tracking this vandal for a while now. The most tedious part is not reporting him but trying to figure out how to revert vandalism on WIkidata and remembering the name of the forum for steward requests. Survey on Inspire Campaign for addressing harassment

Thanks for your participation during the Inspire Campaign focused on addressing harassment from June 2016. I'm interested in hearing your experience during the campaign, so if you're able, I invite you to complete this brief survey to describe how you contributed to the campaign and how you felt about participating.

Please feel free to let me know on my talk page if you have any questions about the campaign or the survey. Thanks! I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 03:23, 10 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

2016 Community Wishlist Survey

Hi,

You’re getting this message because you participated in the 2015 Community Wishlist Survey and we want to make sure you don't miss it this year – or at least can make the conscious choice to ignore if it you want to. The 2015 survey decided what the Community Tech team should work on during 2016. It was also the focus of Wikimedia hackathons and work by other developers. You can see the status of wishes from the 2015 wishlist at 2015 Community Wishlist Survey/Results.

The 2016 Community Wishlist Survey is now open for wishes. You can create proposals until November 20. You will be able to vote on which wishes you think are best or most important between November 28 and December 12. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:17, 14 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrolled

Hi NinjaRobotPirate, just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrol right to your account, as you are a trustworthy user. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Meta:Autopatrollers. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! RadiX 02:14, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:30, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Interaction Timeline V1.1

Hello NinjaRobotPirate, I’m following up with you because you previously showed an interest in the Interaction Timeline. The Anti-Harassment Tools team has completed V1.1 and the tool is ready for use. The Interaction Timeline shows a chronologic history for two users on pages where they have both made edits.

The purpose of the tool is to better understand the sequence of edits between two users in order to make a decision about the best way to resolve a user conduct dispute. Here are some test cases that show the results and also some known limitations of the tool. We would like to hear your experience using the tool in real cases. You can leave public feedback on talk page or contact us by email if the case needs discretion or you would prefer to comment privately. JSTOR account redistribution (The Wikipedia Library)

Hi - according to our records you received a free account for JSTOR through The Wikipedia Library. Because we’ve used up all of our allocated accounts, and it’s been some time since they were distributed, we want to redistribute any accounts that aren’t being used to users on our waitlist.

If you’re still using, or plan to use, your JSTOR access, no problem! Simply head over to the Library Card platform, log in, and request a renewal of your account. You should be able to do this from your user page, or the JSTOR signup page. If you can’t find the renewal button, or have any other issues or questions about this, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. We’ll begin redistributing inactive accounts in September; if you request renewal after then we will only be able to reactivate your account if we have spots remaining. Thanks, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:32, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

You've got mail

Hi. I have sent you email going on the block on my account on enwiki. Psl631 (talk) 17:48, 7 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Psl631: at this point, the standard offer is pretty much your only hope. That means no sock puppetry or block evasion for six months. It looks like you last evaded your block in June 2018. That means you need to wait until December 2018. After that, I'll restore your talk page access on English Wikipedia. You might have to remind me to do that, though. You should keep in mind that it's easier to get unblocked on English Wikipedia when you can show that you've made constructive edits elsewhere, such as Wikimedia Commons, Wiktionary, etc. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 18:35, 7 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'll wait until december 2018, i will not edit with other ips or other accounts or i will be blocked again. while i reminding you to restore tpa, should i leave a note here or send you email? i can edit minecraft wikipedia until december, i make good edits on minecraft wiki until december and then leave i a note here to restore my tpa on enwiki. On Simple English Wiki, have i been banned from editing by community for 1 year, i can only read the english wikipedia until december. i do not like the other projects. only editing the meta wikipedia, miraheze, and minecraft wikipedia until i get unblocked on enwiki. -- Psl631 (talk) 12:36, 8 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Psl631, I’d like to note that your block on the Simple English Wikipedia can be ‘’reviewed’’ after one year, and is not guaranteed to be lifted. There is no set time. Also, the Minecraft Wiki isn’t associated with Wikipedia or Wikimedia. Vermont (talk) 13:36, 8 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have now waited six months without sockpuppets/block evasion on the English Wikipedia, and while I waited the six months for you to reset my talk page and for me to discuss the ban, i read only the wikipedia, but I was on the Swedish Wikipedia and reverted vandalism there and edited anonymously. Should you restore my talk page access now o the English WikiPedia, so I can discuss the ban on my talk page there and i have a question: i want to edit with a new account instead of this account, because i was logged out while i read the articles on the English Wikipedia, and many changes has been made on the wikis, and I have waited to read the Wikipedia logged in and I want to write a CSS with custom font, custom link colors, and tools to read the wiki with.-- Psl631 (talk) 19:38, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I can restore your talk page access. If you just want your account renamed, you could request that here on meta. There are ways to create new accounts on English Wikipedia without it being sock puppetry, but they require you to be unblocked first. I suggest that you just stick with this account, though. It seems like a bad idea to mess around with multiple accounts if you've already gotten in trouble for sock puppetry. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 20:09, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Can you please restore my talk page access now so I can discuss the ban on my talk page on en. wikipedia please and that with the new account and the rename. -- Psl631 (talk) 20:34, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Already done. If you can't edit your talk page on English Wikipedia, you'll have to tell me what error, if any, you see. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 20:42, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Unblock 2607:fb90::/32

Hello, I'm asking you to do us a small favor and unblock the entire 2607:fb90::/32 range. This block is preventing millions of people from editing, and was imposed because of only one editor. The "one bad apple, everyone's a rotten egg" saying shouldn't apply here; it's simply unfair at best. I'm not asking you for much, really.

May you reconsider!

Sincerely, 2607:FB90:54A5:C0FD:903E:7645:F79:9D6F 18:52, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

That's a pretty harsh range block, but the Dog and rapper vandal is pretty annoying. If you want to edit, you could always create an account. That can be done by using using your home internet connection instead of T-Mobile. Or you could request an account. This range block only stops anonymous editing, so once you create your account, you'll be able to use T-Mobile to edit. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 23:12, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

The Community Wishlist Survey

Hi,

You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.

You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:24, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Billiekhalidfan/Electricwater

In user talk page archive, Bbb23 confirmed that Billiekhalidfan and Electricwater are the same person. Besides Bbb23 blocked Electricwater indefinitely and said "Consider this message a warning that if you resume socking, whether with another named account or abusively editing while not logged in, you risk being indefinitely blocked." As for now, I think it is obvious by the number of vandalism warnings to Billiekhalidfan talk page.[1][2] In addition there is checkuser evidence for abusing multiple accounts, might look with Xray goggles, and block if appropriate.

P.S. I can't post to Wikipedia talk page, because Billiekhalidfan will complain or raising objections about a trivial matter. 2402:1980:824E:5DD6:62B8:6B2:E6:FD9D 02:32, 21 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

I don't really know anything about this situation, and you haven't provided any evidence of sock puppetry. That makes things a bit difficult for me to investigate. If you do have evidence, probably the best thing to do is file a case at en:WP:SPI. You'd need to post diffs of Billiekhalidfan and a potential sock puppet who have made similar edits. Unblocking me from Wikipedia

NinjaRobotPirate, I would like to be unblocked from Wikipedia, because I would like to apologize for abusing multiple accounts, copying/pasting credits into articles from YouTube videos, making numerous edits on articles, etc. My concerns about being blocked from Wikipedia is that I made articles without reading the rules, policies, and guidelines about making articles, and I disobeyed you about not to copy/paste credits from YouTube videos into articles. Please forgive me. If so, unblock me, please. Thank you. Cstoczyn (talk) 19:24, 10 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

You should make an unblock request via en:WP:UTRS. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 21:00, 10 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

UTRS/Talk page access from Wikipedia

I tried to make an unblock request from UTRS, but it says that I was prevented from filing this appeal: an attempt to spam the system with excessive appeals has been detected. I won't be able to file an appeal until 7 days after my first appeal. Is there a way you can restore my talk page access on Wikipedia? If so, please restore it. Thank you. Cstoczyn (talk) 16:16, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

One way you can demonstrate that you're ready to return to editing English Wikipedia is by showing that you can follow rules. If the message says to stop emailing UTRS for 7 days, follow the instructions. Then, once you can file an appeal, read through en:WP:GAB and compose a new unblock request – one that's substantially different than others you may have written. If you can show that you've edited another Wikimedia project without problems, that'd probably help. For example, you could contribute to Simple English Wikipedia, English Wikiquote, Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata, etc. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 18:30, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Side2SideDW and Techoliver298

Hi. I doubt that Side2SideDW and Techoliver298 are the same person. Side2SideDW remains inactive since July 15, 2017. Four months later, Techoliver298 created on November 20, that has continued by months and make obvious that whenever s/he edit the page s/he will be the same person.

Apology and question

(Note: I could have sent this to you by email, but I figured this would have a higher chance of you noticing. Also, I honestly don't know if sending email from enwiki would reset my 6-month timer....)

I, SithJarJar666, want to sincerely apologize for wasting your time and the time of the entire Wikipedia community by socking. I realize now that it was a wrong decision to make, and that I should not have done so. In six months (well, five and a half now), I will appeal for unblock. If accepted, I will rejoin enwiki as SithJarJar666. No more hiding, no more socking. Which brings me to my question: If I have no TPA, should I request unblock via UTRS, or via email? If by email, would you be willing to repost it on WP:AN if I send it to you?

Regards, SithJarJar666 (talk) 20:28, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

There aren't really any rules as such, but the standard offer timer traditionally only gets reset when people engage in sock puppetry or logged-out block evasion. The normal method of appeal would be UTRS. But I can restore your talk page access now with the understanding that you're not to engage in any more shenanigans. I really don't have the patience to deal with trolling any more. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 20:54, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
No more shenanigans. Don't worry, I'm tired of them as well;) Also, thank you for answering my question and for restoring my talk page access. That really will make my appeal a lot easier.
Regards, SithJarJar666 (talk) 21:12, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

You have mail

Just wanted to inform you of an email that I sent you. You can reply either here, in an email, or on my Simple Wikipedia talk page; I really don’t care which, as long as I get a reply.

Regards, --sithjarjar (talk) 21:52, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Part of the standard offer is proving that you can follow simple instructions. You can ignore that and make an appeal whenever you like. Since you are site banned per en:WP:3X, any appeals will have to go to the admin noticeboard. People will bring up the fact that you were vandalizing Wikipedia and trolling people on your talk page as recently as March 2020, and your last sock puppet was blocked just a month ago. That does not sound like an appeal that will pass to me. But it's your decision to make. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 22:48, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ok then, I’ll wait. I just wanted to seek you opinion. Regards, --sithjarjar (talk) 23:05, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Concern about IP rangeblocking on English Wikipedia

Hi, NinjaRobotPirate. Sorry to bother you but I’m just concerned about IP rangeblocking on English Wikipedia. I’ve seen a lot of IP addresses being rangeblocked by you, but I think I know why. There’s a lot of stuff going on with PoliceOfficer124 isn’t there? I can see you’ve blocked multiple accounts belonging to PoliceOfficer124, but somebody mentioned on your English Wikipedia talk page that they found unknown accounts that belonged to PoliceOfficer124. He told you the names but I think he told you that you didn’t block them, but they were blocked by others. You suspected the person who told you he found the unknown accounts had been a sockpuppet of PoliceOfficer124 but that wasn’t true. He mentioned on the talk pages of the accounts that they were sockpuppets of PoliceOfficer124. I think my IP address is blocked on the English Wikipedia, but I think you accidentally rangeblocked it. Please could you shorten the IP block down to 1 February 2021 if that’s okay because I haven’t edited on the English Wikipedia because I LOVE Wikipedia, it’s like loving chocolate cake. Quick note, just take it easy with Wikimedia and that. Thanks. Kwhizzzz (talk) 06:44, 27 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Also, Ninja is randomly rangeblocking xxx.xxx.0.0/16 and xxxx.xxxx::/32 IP ranges which affected different person can't able to edit. But Kwhizzzz you should post on English Wikipedia instead. 183.171.113.178 14:28, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

hello I have appealed the LuniGacha disabled removal. If you want, you can accept the objection. If you accept the unblocked appeal, I can give you proof that I am not NovaPlaycer and my email information. Please enter English Wikipedia visit. Thanks.

Apology message

I'm so sorry NinjaRobotPirate found out that I'm my own user using checkuser you're right. but i stopped being socks so give it 2 months this is one last chance.

Guy Macon

Guy Macon is actively editing Wikipedia using his very much not retired "Alternate Account", while his main account still claims (and whose edit history shows) he is all but retired, and displays no link to his Alternate Account.

One of the things he has been using that account for, is to state on Wikipedia that identifiable Wikimedia Foundation employees have broken Federal law and have issued threats against him via Foundation email accounts in an effort to "shut him up."

I'm telling you this to remind you that not every time you mechanically cycle through your work flow, is the outcome a positive for Wikipedia.

You are not a robot (or a ninja, or a pirate).

I appreciate you probably think nothing you do matters once it gets to the stakes of who gets fired or sued, because you're just an unpaid volunteer and there are others who are paid to deal with this stuff. But still, a little care and attention wouldn't go amiss, now and again.

Unblock

Hello. My English Wikipedia IP range was blocked as an Open Proxy, because the sockmaster (MegaMack02) is infamous for using Open Proxies (disguised as IPs) operated by the American VPN service Norton. If you can, Can you unblock this IP range? This block hurts me as well as other people. Norton 360 is necessary for my work, and other internet providers around my country don’t offer any other options. Please unblock this IP range, I’d really love to have this chance. Thank you. 174.202.2.217 16:42, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

2 admins (1 admin and 1 CU) gave this range a global block exemption, but I would also like to request an unblock locally in the English Wikipedia. 174.202.2.217 17:07, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Concern about IP Proxy Rangeblocking on English Wikipedia

Hi, NinjaRobotPirate. Sorry to bother you but I’m just concerned about IP rangeblocking on English Wikipedia. I’ve seen a lot of /19 IPs being rangeblocked by you, but I think I know why. There’s a lot of stuff going on with MegaMack02 isn’t there? I can see you’ve blocked multiple accounts belonging to MegaMack02, but somebody asked for an in deletion of a “well sourced” draft, which was supported by content moderator Asilvering. . AntiCompositeNumber suspected the person who asked for the undeletion of the draft had been a sockpuppet of MegaMack02 but that wasn’t true. After you saw this, you extended the block to expire in January 2023 for being an open proxy used by MegaMack02. Please could you shorten the IP block down to 30 September 2022 if that’s okay because I haven’t edited on the English Wikipedia because I LOVE Wikipedia, it’s like loving chocolate cake. Quick note, just take it easy with Wikimedia and that. Thanks. 174.202.1.77 15:51, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

You judged quickly and even revoked the range TPA so that legitimate users could not defend themselves or request the removal of the block. Why? And the block reason appears to have been set to this:

Open Proxy/Webhost: please appeal via WP:UTRS if this block affects you)

Can you please block my IP? I’d really love to have the chance to start editing. Thanks, 174.202.1.77 15:55, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

IP User:24.21.161.89

According to this, back in August 2022, you blocked and declined the unblock request of this IP user for, among other things, in the editor's own words "offending gay people." I wish to draw your attention to the fact that this user has blanked out all the warnings on their talk page and made this edit on Respect for Marriage Act for which they were given a final warning by User:Wretchskull. Will it be necessary to go to ANI to apply for a SBAN or is there something you can do as an administrator about this? What do you suggest? I believe more vandalism and nothing but vandalism from this user is guaranteed and that waiting serves no purpose. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
