There is a wealth of research on tools that can help online communities thrive and improve the ecosphere of online interaction, but it is often difficult to know which tools are most effective or what research needs to be done to identify the most effective tools.
These pages are being used to build a proto-wiki to organize the research that exists - helping communities and researchers find the most effective interventions and identify gaps in our knowledge.
My hope is to organize research around individual studies (articles), for each noting how it is relevant to:
- Community goals
- Specific tools
- Theoretical work
- Specific online communities
Those articles will likewise be organized thematically by goals, tools, theory and online communities.
