Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2016 Program Committee Call
editDear CEE community members,
The program committee for the upcoming Wikimedia CEE meeting in Armenia (August 26-29) is here and kicking, and currently consists of Lilit Tarkhanyan, Vachagan Gratian, and lead by myself, Chaojoker. But we are looking for more members to add to the fun and help us with the selection and scheduling of talks and other activities.
All the humanoids interested, please apply by replying here and including all your vital details such as blood pressure, height, etc... just kidding, of course :D But please let us know by sending us your name and the chapter you're from if you are interested.
We are looking forward to welcoming all those who'd like to join us. Chaojoker (talk) 16:55, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- I'm in. Antanana, I remember you volunteered to join, too, during the CEE Meeting in Berlin. --Lord Bumbury (talk) 21:50, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- I am interested. Deputy Chair of Wikimedia Ukraine Board, Treasurer --アンタナナ 13:42, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
- I'd like too, but what about Conflict of interest, I mean my submission? --Perohanych (talk) 03:53, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Perohanych. I'm sorry but the Program Committee is already formed and they already work on the meeting program and submissions.--Lilitik22 (talk) 09:53, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
Wikidata Talks
editJust as a comment for the organizers. The current sorting of the Wikidata talks seems like a good sorting of how they could be in the schedule. Starting with a basic introduction and then diving into various subdomains. I think that that will make it easy for new users of Wikidata to slowly build up their understanding. --Tobias1984 (talk) 21:55, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- Oops, sorry, saw that too late. I sorted them by alphabet. I'll rewind my sorting. --Gereon K. (talk) 07:53, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
Education programming
editI am Vahid Masrour, with the Wikipedia Education Program Team, at the Wikimedia Foundation. I would like to offer my assistance with regards to the Education component of the program. Will there be a track or a selection of talks that will focus on this topic? Are there people already preparing sessions on education initiatives? --VMasrour (WMF) (talk) 14:44, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
- Just as an update: Vahid and Shani will run the Education session. They will also have an education meet-up with participants.--Lilitik22 (talk) 09:25, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
Deadline for submissions?
editA deadline would be helpful for people who still plan to submit something for the meeting. Braveheart (talk) 01:26, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Braveheart! The deadline of submissions is 1 August for now. --Lilitik22 (talk) 09:21, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll add it to the front page so that people find it right away :-) Braveheart (talk) 11:41, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
Again Content translation?
editThere were sessions about tools for helping translating content last year in Estonia (one by me). How much do you prefer to repeat updated version of last year sessions? Or, do you prefer to present new things, not presented last year?
I am thinking (beside of updated version of last year sessions) about tranla-thon by the tool Content Translation. --KuboF (talk) 23:22, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hi KuboF. I think it would be great to have some updates about the tool as well as a tranla-thon. How much time do you need? Amir will join the meeting via Skype and have an introduction talk which will take 15 minutes so we have 75 free minutes. Is it enough for you? --Lilitik22 (talk) 12:52, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
