• Personal info: I am an admin on Meta and on en:wp/nah:wp. I have been editing Wikipedia & sister projects for around 4 years. I have not been so active as a steward in the past year but hope to be moreso now that there is a comparative backlog of requests. I have kept up to date with steward discussions and policies on lists and at the last Wikimania. I believe swift responses to requests from new and struggling language wikis is an important community task that currently only stewards can do.

• Informationen zur Person: Ich bin Administrator auf Meta und en:wp/nah:wp. Ich trage seit ca. vier Jahren zur Wikipedia und ihren Schwesterprojekten bei. Ich war im letzten Jahr nicht allzusehr als Steward tätig, gehe aber davon aus, dass es einen vergleichbaren Auftragsüberhang gibt. Ich habe mich über Steward-Diskussionen und Richtlinien auf der letzten Wikimania auf dem Laufenden gehalten. Ich glaube, schnell auf Anfragen neuer und ums Überleben kämpfender Wikis zu antworten ist eine wichtige Aufgabe in unserer Community, die momentan nur von Stewards erledigt werden kann.

• Renseignements personnels : Je suis admin sur meta et en:wp/nah:wp. Je contribue à Wikipédia et ses projets soeurs depuis environ 4 ans. Je n'ai pas été trop actif en tant que steward cette année mais j'espère l'être maintenant qu'il y a plus de requêtes en attente. Je me suis maintenu au courant des discussions entre stewards et les politiques sur les mailing-lists et à la dernière Wikimania. Je pense que des réponses rapides aux requêtes des wikis petits ou nouveaux est une tâche importante pour la communauté que seulement les stewards peuvent effectuer.

• Informazioni personali: Sono un amministratore su Meta e su en:wp/nah:wp. Edito su Wikipedia e sui progetti correlati da circa 4 anni. Non sono stato molto attivo come steward nell'anno trascorso, ma spero di esserlo di più ora, visto che in raffronto ci sono maggiori richieste che si accumulano. Mi sono mantenuto aggiornato con le discussioni relative agli steward e le policy, sia sulle mailing list, sia all'ultima edizione di Wikimania. Credo che risposte veloci alle richieste provenienti dalle edizioni nuove e maggiormente in difficoltà sia una priorità importante per la comunità, compito che al momento solo gli steward possono svolgere.

• Informações pessoais: Eu sou Administrador no Meta e nos projetos en:wp/nah:wp. Eu venho editando a Wikipédia e seus projetos-irmãos há cerca de 4 anos. Eu não fui muito ativo como Steward durante o último ano, mas espero ser mais ativo agora que há, comparativamente, um certo acúmulo de pedidos. Eu me mantive atualizado em discussões e políticas relacionados aos Stewards nas malas diretas e na última Wikimania. Eu acredito que respostas ágeis a pedidos vindos de wikis novas e em dificuldades representam uma importante tarefa comunitária que, atualmente, somente os Stewards podem realizar.

3. While this appears to be true, Sj has been involved in many aspects of the foundation's work for a long time and his counsel and advice would be valuable. He has also indicated an intent to increase activity levels so I support retention of stewardship. ++Lar: t/c 12:50, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
4. As Lar mentons, Sj has been an enormously dedicated and longstanding volunteer for the WMF. While I agree with Herby that Sj probably won't be the most active steward, the few actions he does perform will only help the WMF and its projects. 5. Samuel is a great Wikimedian who has been showing an extraordinary dedication to Wikimedia projects. He's a very cool guy and I definitely trust him. Though, I am deeply convinced that someone who doesn't use his tools [1] should give them back by honesty. guillom 10:14, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

8. I'm sorry, no use of the steward tools for a very long time (last time really active was june 2006), so I agree with guillom. Effeietsanders 23:01, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
9. Sj., while he has been very helpful in the "behind-the-scenes" area of the Steward system, has been inactive, and that's not the sort of characteristic we need in our Stewards. Suggest no re-confirmation, unless Sj is willing to participate in at least some Steward inactivity. Anthøny 19:51, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

    The log may be acting up on us (presumably unrelatedly, the CU log also sometimes acts up), as different people are reporting different last activity times. I thought Pathy was not showing up recently in the log too, and when I checked again, he had multiple activities a week earlier. So it might be a good thing to double check the log (Herby said April of this year when he checked). I do in the general case agree with JayHenry even if I've argued for an exemption for Sj... ++Lar: t/c 06:06, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

    I'm possibly reading the logs wrong or unaware of activity that would be logged elsewhere. Looks as if he fiddled with his own permissions in April of this year, but hasn't actually changed someone else's permissions since June of 2006.[2]. --JayHenry 16:46, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

    No, I went and looked again and I'm not seeing the inconsistent results I was before, so I think you're right. So then, it's down to the stewards to decide if his statement that he intends to become more active, and the other factors relating to his project experience that some mention outweigh his inactivity... because it's a tossup. I guess in the end my support, such as it is, is rather weaker than it was for Angela or Anthere. (both who do have activity to boot). ++Lar: t/c 18:22, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
