As of 2018, active offline wiki projects include:
- Kiwix (toolchain used by most projects) and its Wikipedia-Offline project to maintain Wikimedia snapshots in every language
- snapshots include: Wikimed (medical), Wikipedia in jails, Enciclopedia de Venezuela (es), SOS - WP for Schools (en), and Mesh Sayada (fr+ar)
- Internet-in-a-Box (kiwix-based WP / medical /KA snapshots).
- Wikipedia 1.0 (an english-language review + snapshot project, which generates major updates to the main Kiwix en-wp image)
- WikiFundi by Wiki in Africa, an offline editor of articles
- XOWA, a free, open-source offline app that allows a user to have their own copy of a wiki on their hard-drive. It works with the latest versions of over 820 database dumps including wikis like English Wikipedia, French Wiktionary, German Wikisource, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, and more.

Widely distributed offline projects not recently updated include:
- OWPP: Wikipedia images for Sugar OS and OLPC (used primarily in EN + ES, 2007-2013)
- WikiReader: pocket-sized physical hardware with touchscreens and kiwix images (ca. 2008)
- WP for iPhone (ca. 2007, maintainer went off to launch Stripe ;)
- wizzy.za snapshot (S. Africa, by user:wizzy)
