Another block request

Please block 99.49.33.240 for submitting bogus "Wikimedia News" items (none of the info submitted was correct) and making substantive changes to other users' comments (including mine) on the corresponding talk page. (Note that I think it is likely that this is the same person who has edited under the IPs 75.92.40.206, 70.243.116.31, and 99.49.35.71, as well. FWIW.) - dcljr (talk) 01:21, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Another block request, for the same reason as before: an anon changing a talk page comment of mine. I'm not sure exactly what this person thinks they're accomplishing... (BTW, is there something else I should be doing, rather than asking for blocks here? It seems silly to have to come here every couple of weeks to ask for another block...) - dcljr (talk) 06:36, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Edit notice for subpages of Language committee/Status?

Resolved. Done at edit filter #55. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 16:33, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

These pages are no longer used for new Requests for new languages by the Language Committee. Existing pages can stay, but people keep to create new pages, e.g. Language committee/Status/wq/diq, Language committee/Status/wp/tly, Language committee/Status/wp/trv. It would be helpful if an edit notice or a "creation notice" could be made for these pages that explains that it is not necessary to create new ones (incubator:I:Glossary#S). I have found nothing on setting up an edit notice for subpages on mw:Help:Edit notice, but I'd guess there is some way, maybe known on enwiki. --MF-W 15:36, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

I just tested this; an edit notice applies to subpages too. So it seems like I'm asking for the creation of MediaWiki:Editnotice-0-Language committee-Status. --MF-W 22:59, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Anyone who would like to do this, maybe? --MF-W 09:20, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
If you put the proposed edit notice in MediaWiki talk:Editnotice-0-Language committee-Status, then I'll copy it across - but did you consider an abuse filter to stop them from being able to create these pages altogether? The Helpful One 11:24, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't, but that would indeed be an even better solution. I'd guess the following AbuseFilter code would catch it: action == "create" & !"sysop" in user_groups & article_namespace == 0 & "Language committee/Status" in article_prefixedtext
That said, even Titleblacklist would work and wouldn't be as annoying to configure: Language committee\/Status.* <errmsg=Titleblacklist-langcomstatus>.
Warning:

<div style="margin:1em; padding:0.5em; border:2px solid #C00;" dir="ltr">'''Please note: It is no longer necessary to create new "status" pages.'''<br />The information which they used to contain are shown directly on the request pages which use the [[Language committee/Handbook (requesters)|new request template]].<br /><small>If you have questions, ask them [[Talk:Language committee|here]].</div>

Closure of a request for deletion

After more than a week of discussion (currently 11) at Meta:Requests_for_deletion#All_fair_use_files_and_templates I request a neutral admin to have a look at the discussion and take the appropiate actions such as closure or other that deems appropiate.
