I came by We will communicate through our social media accounts [...] which have limited reach and I think that you can use the social media channels of the Wikimedia Foundation to increase your own social media reach.
Which jury tool are you planning to use?
Follow-up announcements in media which posted our press releases. - you could write even to media which did not post your press releases, sometimes they see the pictures and decide that the results were good enough to publish them.
Showcasing best work in social media and printed copies offline - what is benefit of the printed copies offline?
the community will accept or reject it by voting and commenting - how long would the voting period be? A long one, longer than a week, could discourage people from participating. --Lord Bumbury (talk) 10:48, 22 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Replying to Лорд Бъмбъри:
Social media: I am aware of the possibility to use official accounts to target Latvian (language and/or territory) users, but we have not yet used this option. I will come up with the text and make it work. Thanks or the tip!
Jury tool: Last year we used tool by WM AT, which was simple to set up, but we had some misunderstandings. We are ready to used it again, but might investigate other tools, too. We also do have technical resources to "look under the hood" if problems arise during jury work.
Press releases: I can agree with that.
Printed copies: we want to display printed copies at our events in next year, arrange some exhibitions to advertise for next years event which is very likely to be arranged as we are not at all close to covering our monuments.
Microgrants: There will be set deadline for voting/commenting. Out usual deadline for voting about important matters is 2 weeks.

Hi Papuass. Thank you for this grant request. We are excited to fund WLM in Latvia for the second year and the microgrants pilot. It would be great to know how many of the 7,000 monuments are already covered in Commons and/or have articles on Wikipedia. How many new monuments do you hope to cover this year? We were very impressed with your percentage of images used last year. Why do you only expect half as much usage this year? Thanks, Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 03:54, 24 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, User:AWang (WMF)! Sorry for the delay, I have been been busy attending CEE Meeting conference and Latvian-Estonian user meeting a week later. We have gathered rough statistics. Out of 7299 monuments we have 1482 covered. Quite a big part of monuments are archaeological like ancient burial places or hill fortifications which are not easily located (we do not have official coordinates) and mostly would not get a Wikipedia article, so these images are less necessary. In the future we plan to take this into account when we need to stop organizing WLM and switch to dedicated wiki expeditions. We did not discuss how many new monuments we aim to cover. About image usege: we use these images in out monument lists, so this may explain why the number is higher. I put a lower goal because it will be harder to find new unphotographed monuments. --Papuass (talk) 18:07, 5 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Papuass! This is all very clear. It was nice meeting you in Armenia! Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 16:48, 6 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
