Aug 25 is the beginning of Ganesha festival in India. The venue of the editathon and the anniversary program, Shri Ramakrishna P.U. College, Mangaluru, is being used for the Ganesha festival. The festival is normally held for a minimum of 3 days which means it will be extended till 27th Aug 2017. Request for little increase in grant

We did conduct the anniversary program on Sep 3rd . We had the opportunity of having Asaf Bartov as a guest for the program. We conducted the editathon on Sep 2 & 3. Asaf is touring India conducting Wikidata workshops. We decided to use this opportunity and have the Wikidata training also in parallel on Sep 2 & 3 and we did so. Participants got divided between Wikidata workshop and editathon. There were about 15 new editors for editathon who have learnt Wikipedia editing but yet to polish their articles in sandbox and move them to main space. We could not fulfil all the commitments we made in the grant request. We have also mentioned that there will be follow-up editathons and mentioned that we will apply for Simple Annual Grant for that. But unfortunately that is not happening (our request was turned down). Hence we have decided to have one follow-up editathon on Sep 23 & 24 to complete these –

• Complete the training to the new editors
• Complete the articles by them in sandbox and bring them to main space
• Participation by some old editors to add new articles and/or improve existing articles

We have made an estimation of the expenses and the total expenses, including what has been spent already, will go up by about 10% (about 8,000 INR) only. Hence I request you to allow us to go ahead with this editathon and allow us to include the expenses in the same grant.--Pavanaja (talk) 17:24, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for approving the additional expenses. Due to non-availability of the lab due to some unforeseen reasons, we have rescheduled the follow-up editathon to Oct 1 & 2, 2017. Hope that is ok. When is our report to be submitted?--Pavanaja (talk) 05:23, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
