Concerns from Bengali Wikipedia community

Hi @I JethroBT (WMF) and DSaroyan (WMF):, I would like you to check the long discussion happening on Bengali Wikipedia, where the community volunteers are raising concerns and sharing frustrations on the different grant applications applied by this applicant. The applicant has gained mistrust from the community members as evident from the comments. @I JethroBT (WMF): Thank you both for your kind message, I called Jayantanth da to know what is wrong in asking multiple grants and eventually getting all of them, but you didn't answered my call, and again Jayantanth da, has mentioned, 'mistrust', I don't know, if one applied for multiple grants for multiple projects, what's the harm in it? There is only one motive for such grants, that is to work on multiple projects to benefit the movement, now, when someone raising questions, at least, give the person time to submit all the reports (both project & financial) then point fingers, I will be waiting for your email and will revert back, regarding this particular grant, I don't think there is any concern, first of all, the project is still on and I am super busy handling various tasks of the project, as there is only 4 days to Wikipedia's birthday and I am also working on my other project Hello Santali and my professional work is there too. I will definitely, share a financial report with receipts and a project report after it's completion, and for all such grants that I had applied for. Please, be sure, I am not going anywhere, I love this movement. Again, I would like to say to people who are pointing fingers, please check and verify details before you do so. Wikipedia 20th celebration gifts and project extention.

Hi @DSaroyan (WMF):, As per my grant for Wikipedia 20 celebration,

1. In place of "Calendars", can I opt out other gifts within the same kept budget ($210), as you know actually my event "Wikipedia20 celebration" got extended for 2 months and it is almost the end of March 2021 giving out calendars now doesn't seem to be ok?

2. As I am able to get all the "token of appreciation" delivered to participants free of cost (the vendor did not charge for delivery), can I utilize the "funds"($100) kept for delivery to order gifts? As having a total fund around $210 + $100 =$310 can be good for other gifts.

In this scenario, I humbly request to extend my grant period to be extended from 28th February 2021 to 15th May 2021, the new deadline will enable me to finish off sending the gifts( if the above fund gets reallocation sanction) to participants and jurors across India and abroad and furnish my Grant report as well.

Wikipedia 20th celebration gift voucher and project extension date.

Dear @DSaroyan (WMF):,

Hope my message finds you the best of health and spirit. In India, things are not good at all. We all are praying to overcome this bad phase. I would like to inform you that I had decided on the newly allocated funds to give out Covid protection kits ( face masks, face shield, sanitizer) to participants, jury members and organizer, but till this date I haven't able to process them due to Covid situations worsening day by day in many parts of India, either the vendors cannot work on the items or a lockdown is happening in that part of the country and the vendor cannot send the items. Still to this day, there are several lockdowns happening in many parts of my country.

Now, in this situation, I have decided to hand over (will send by email) "Gift vouchers" (Amazon/ local Grocery/ Medicine shop) and send them across everyone. At least, this small token of appreciation can help many of them to buy essential items in this difficult time. I will try my best to complete the task within 15th May, though an extension Grant closing date till 31st May 2021, would have been beneficial, actually I am writing this from my home where within 500 meters radius there are 47 active cases and within 1km, 161 active cases, so I'm a bit worried about the welfare of my family.
