Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Articles for disabilities in Macedonian/Report
Comments from I JethroBT (WMF)
editHi HO Iskra, and thanks for this report. I'm sorry to hear that there was insufficient interest in a second event, and that participation was somewhat low. It sounds like you have identified some of the factors that caused there to be no shows or unfavorable conditions for attendance, so I'm glad you've reflected on that and plan to schedule the events during the evenings during a weekday, when additional interested participants will be available. That said, it looks like the editors in attendance created a decent number of articles during the event-- is there a link to a list of these articles available? Also, congratulations on the media coverage of the event!
For the second event, you are permitted to using the remaining funds to fund it. The only two things we'll need on this report in order to approve it are the dates for when you plan to hold it, and a report of the expenses for that event along with documentation sent to rapidgrants@wikimedia.org. The additional expenses can be left under the Finances section of the grant. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 00:06, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

- @HO Iskra: Hi there! I'm just checking in to see if there is any update about the planned dates for your second event. If you have already run it, are the receipts and expenses available to send to us? Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 20:23, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

Hello ! Thank you very much for your patience. We're happy to announce that would like to hold an event on the 24th of January, Thursday. If that's okay with you, would also like to send everything related for the report until February 3rd, at the latest.
- Hi, HO Iskra, we approve the new due date of 3 February 2019 for your report and expense documentation for the second event. Best of luck with the event! LSmith (WMF) (talk) 20:35, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
Report accepted
editHi, HO Iskra, thank you for updating this report with details of your second event. I'm sorry to hear that you still struggled with low attendance at the second event, but congratulations on creating 7 new articles and updating 4 more!
You mentioned wanting to do online-only edit-a-thons in the future, until you can ensure a stronger partnership with the medical student association. Do you think that online edit-a-thons would have more participation? If so, why? Is there a specific thing about in-person edit-a-thons that is preventing people from attending?
Finally, what would you like to do with the remaining funds? If you would like to return them to WMF, please follow these instructions. If you would like to request that the be used to partially fund another grant, please submit a new grant application by March 9, 2019.
Many thanks for all your hard work and perseverance on this grant!
Best regards, LSmith (WMF) (talk) 00:15, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
Hello LSmith (WMF) thanks for your questions!
1. As we would like to work on the quality of the articles, our goal would be to have continued edithatons that would happen at least once a year in order to expand, update and improve the already created articles and the same to apply for everything in this area that would get created in the meantime.
For this to happen, we think online edithatons would interest higher number of remote participants with medical knowledge even expertise, due to the comfortableness of their homes and their tight school/work schedules. By organizing it this way, with rewards with the left over swag we would like to try a different approach.
2.We would like to use some of the left over money for fullfing an additional part of the project – organize a park walk while taking pictures from people with different types of cerebral palsy, to further enrich our articles with photographs. (application submitted)
Again, in the name of everyone at HO ISKRA thank you very much for your continued understanding and cooperation!

- Hi, HO Iskra! Thank you for this detailed response. Regarding your request for the remaining funds, could you please make it (including the link to the new application) in the remaining funds section of the report, rather than here on the discussion page? Many thanks! LSmith (WMF) (talk) 18:07, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
