About me
editMy upbringing in rural Northern California instilled in me a love of nature, which has evolved into a career as a science journalist. I write longform narrative pieces about the environment and health. I also have a background in philanthropy and a deep commitment to free access to knowledge. I have lived in Northern California for most of my life, but have also lived in New York and Italy. I love traveling, cooking, and baking, and I knit; I'm working on designing my first line of knitting patterns.
About my work
editAs grants coordinator, I support the grants administrators and the program officers at the Wikimedia Foundation. In particular, I assist with the Rapid Grants program, which funds Wikimedia community members—individuals, groups, or organizations contributing to Wikimedia projects or commons—to organize projects throughout the year up to US $2,000. I am excited to support the many Wikimedian communities and the wonderful work they do.
