We appreciate that information about women, more especially African women, who have made outstanding contribution in the society are lacking in many Wikipedia projects. Many women have made outstanding contribution in our society but have remained less visible. This is mostly because the African society remain a man’s world where men dominate in many aspects of life. This domination of men in African society is even more apparent in a project like wikiquote. Classic and inspiring speeches can only be recognised when the speaker is visible. Consequently, great quotes of many cerebral women are not celebrated and preserved. We are desirous to join in making a change to this trend. We are therefore happy to join the Wiki Love Women she said campaign to make this possible. Furthermore, the Wiki For Senior Citizens Network is a relatively new community made up of senior citizens mostly women. Since we came together, many new members keep joining at different times. While some are very new and are just beginning to understand and appreciate Wikipedia, other have learnt and participated in a number of projects. Ther are therefore a lot of skill gap. The Community need opportunities to be trained and improve their skill. While the community wants to improve the visibility of women, many members may not have edited Wikiquote in the past. This campaign will therefore serve as an opportunity to improve skill of members

We will participate in the WLW SheSaid 2023 campaign by organising hybrid edit a thons to create and improve content in wikiquote about African women . The presentations will include a general discussion of Wikipedia, a presentation on WLW SheSaid campaign and a presentation on editing wikiquote. The physical session will be in Abuja. Some presenters and participants will join online. After that day, participants will be encouraged to start editing on wikiquote. In 1st week of November there will be a refresher hybrid training on editing wikiquotes and digital skills. This is because many seniors are slow to learn and have digital challenges. After this session the competition will start. While the competition is going on, participants will be supported by several online sessions to encourage them and resolve any challenges. During the 1st week of December, there will be another hybrid session so that participants will interact with each other, review their progress and challenges. On 31st December 2023, the campaign and competition will end. However, many Nigerian will be on holiday and travels to different villages between 2nd weeks in December and 3rd week in January. Therefore, we will hold the final hybrid session to announce result of the competition and present prices on 26th January 2024.
