Dear @Rodelar,

You are on a wiki, you can’t own pages. What issues do you meet with my changes, so we can fix them, instead of simplyf revert everything as a whole? -- Pols12 (talk) 15:02, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dear @Pols12: ¡Alto! Mujeres haciendo historia is an international campaign, in which a number of Wikimedia affiliates are working, in Spanish and Portuguese, and therefore we need all the content of the site to be translated without any problem, as it has been so far. Can you therefore explain to what extent the changes you are proposing help to make this possible? The campaign starts in two days, and we need the site to be 100% operational. On the other hand, I asked to delete the English tab, so there is no need to modify the content in English. Best. --Rodelar (talk) 15:31, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
My edits allow:
  • avoiding translation issues thanks to translation variable for non translatable content
  • making translation easier, without having to copy complex markup
  • avoiding to translate 4 times the same content for the header (repeated on the 4 pages): they are translatable once in the template, all translations are automatically included
  • using such link Special:MyLanguage/Event:¡Alto!_Mujeres_haciendo_historia#Objetivos to lead you to the right section whatever your UI language is Spanish or Portuguese.
  • cleaning wikitext to comply with internationalization guidelines
  • cleaning wikitext using simple heading syntax rather than complex div and CSS, thanks to templateStyles
  • making the page better readable on all devices, with a flex layout rather than table (that is also better for screen readers used by blind users)
  • removing `center` tag which is obsolete for years
  • finally, my last edit added a blue button to translation pages similar to the one at Spanish page, since I saw that something you requested.
I had introduced two issues (sorry for that), which I have fixed as soon as @Contaminadas warned me about them.
The English pages have been created because the page was not properly set in Spanish before it has been marked for translation. I have requested all those wrong translations to be deleted. Not my fault.
I understand you may not notice these improvements. But what issues do you notice which make you simply revert the whole changes? -- Pols12 (talk) 18:02, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Dear Pols12,
We thank you for your intention to contribute, but as we have explained, the campaign is just around the corner and there are internal coordinations that have less to do with the tool and more to do with what works best for the organisations working on the campaign. So we would ask you to let us know about any changes before implementing them. Best. --Rodelar (talk) 23:45, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
So… may I restore the aforementioned changes? … CC Minorax who has applied some ones. Will you revert them too? -- Pols12 (talk) 14:33, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Our edits made it simpler to edit and translate into any language. As Pols12 have mentioned, the current state of the page will only create more issues if they are translated into more languages. Please reconsider our edits and revert your edit, thanks. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 14:41, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
And to explain why I split those lists up. There is no hard rule on whether something can be left as a list to be translated or be broken into sub-pointers. Doing the latter will be a better option based on the following, a single line change will not cause the whole list to be marked as outdated and it will not cause any lint errors when they are marked with !!FUZZY!! (code for marking outdated translations). --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 14:45, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Those edits are causing translation problems, for example in the menu links, so we need the page to be stable, as the campaign has already started today. Best, --Rodelar (talk) 14:29, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
WHAT translation problems??? Menu is translatable at template page. I’m ready to improve the template if it has some issues, but you don’t explain anything, you’re just reverting!
I understand it is painful for you to discuss about this page markup, but please also understand I am not vandalizing it, I try to make it better accessible for blind people and small-screen device users.

Translation of event calendar

edit

Dear @Vic Sfriso (WMAR), @Jaluj, @Isabel (Wikiesfera),

Should we make the event calendar table translatable? -- Pols12 (talk) 13:31, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Una mujer con capacidades y mucho trabajo, siempre se destacarán como cualquiera que busque su desarrollo y tenga en mente sus limitaciones. Por este motivo, aquellas mujeres que logran destacarse será por su esfuerzo y no requieren de leyes que las vuelvan mejores en sus actividades. No insultemos a estas mujeres. 190.151.38.190 15:32, 26 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
