Central Asian WikiCon 2025/Scholarship
The Central Asian WikiCon 2025 will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on April 19–20, 2025, and these scholarships are to support community members who wish to attend in person. These scholarships are made possible through the Wikimedia Foundation, which provides funding to enable diverse and inclusive participation at the conference.

Eligibility to Apply
editAny active contributor to a Wikimedia project (such as Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Wikisource, etc.) or a Wikimedia volunteer in any capacity from Central Asia (including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Iran) is eligible for a scholarship. We also encourage active contributors from regional communities in the Wikimedia CEE Hub, Wikimedians of Turkic Languages User Group, and ESEAP Hub to apply.
Activity within the Wikimedia movement (in any capacity, online or offline) will be the primary criterion for evaluation. Participation in non-wikimedia free knowledge, free software, collaborative, or educational initiatives is beneficial but not required.
Scholarships
editApproximately 45 scholarships are expected to be awarded to participants.
The scholarships will cover round-trip flights, accommodation, local transportation, refreshments during the conference, and meals.
