  • I don't think we ever approved a campaing of 7 months. It's terribly large. Please consider using MediaWiki:Sitenotice on that project for more permanent notices. A campaign can be set, but I'd say 1 month max. to encourage participation at first. What do you think @Jseddon (WMF)? —MarcoAurelio 11:17, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your comments MarcoAurelio. Our Contest time span is about 7 month, but we are not demanding the Central Notice time span for whole 7 month. I know that normal timespan for any central notice is one week. We are demanding either one week from day start OR 1st day of coming 6th month, whichever is possible as per policy. Jayantanth (talk) 12:38, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So I would probably recommend something like 1 week to start, 2 sets of week long reminders and then one week to close. Seddon (WMF) (talk) 12:28, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
MarcoAurelio, but is it any different for the readers what notice they see? I think using 7 month CN as opposed to 7 month SN has the benefit of possibility to set impression diet and all this other percentage and views limiting stuff. --Base (talk) 19:52, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We are expecting the final decision. Our contest need this. Jayantanth (talk) 14:30, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We are expecting the final decision.About three month we are waiting.Jayantanth (talk) 10:39, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@MarcoAurelio: & @Base: - We need to expedite this request since as Jayantanth has pointed out its been open for three months. There is a big question about such long term campaigns that probably at some point need addressing. Given the narrow range of this and the small nature of the project, if you both agree we could waive the rules in this instance but we probably need the CN's to agree about the protocol for this kind of situation. Seddon (WMF) (talk) 02:10, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not managing this campaign anymore so feel free to set it up if you think it's okay. —MarcoAurelio 09:05, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Seddon (WMF), Jayantanth, and Base: Three weeks later (and less than two months before the specified end of the contest), what happened? Mahir256 (talk) 05:57, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Done @Mahir256 and Jayantanth: I have created and enabled a banner for mobile only. However I see no reason to replace the site notice on desktop with a central notice. They are effectively trying to achieve the same goal and currently there is no precedent for running such campaigns for prolonged periods of time on CentralNotice.
