Overview
The Communications Department attended Wikimedia Conference 2017 to provide capacity building training opportunities for Wikimedia movement affiliates, network with affiliate leaders, increase awareness of department activities, support the movement strategy discussions, and discuss with the community initiatives the department is considering.

Objectives
With its participation in the conference, the department hopes to achieve these objectives:
- Support Foundation communications at conference
- Provide workshops on requested communications topics
- Support Learning Days effort
- Provide a space for communications discussions
- Participate in conference activities
- Support movement strategy discussions
