The job vacancy for a Creative Director states "Reports to: Senior Global Brand Manager Location: open to San Francisco (HQ) or Remote". Given it has become quite hard to understand the communication processes in the Wikimedia Foundation, please forgive me if the question is answered elsewhere, but is it common to have a "Director" report to a mere "Manager" nowadays? Does this mean that the person in question will be two steps under a C-level? Does "Managing and leading a team of designers, partners and design agencies" mean that there will be a team for this matter, or is this a way to say that the person would presumably be tasked with executing the outcome of Talk:Communications/Wikimedia brands/2030 research and planning/community review together with whatever external consultants enlisted for it? - Hi Nemo, the job description describes the tasks for the role. Creative and Art Director are two titles that come to mind that stand out a bit from the regular organizational structure naming conventions. - Thank you for the clarification. It can indeed be difficult to match sector-specific expectations and org-wide consistency. Now, what I understood is that this role doesn't necessarily include having some employees reporting to it (the "team" may just be external suppliers), while the brand review is presumably the responsibility of (the team of) said Global Brand Manager or higher. This job posting is not aligned with the Wikimedia Foundation mission and should be revised. WMF exists to promote free knowledge and all the Wikimedia projects, not just Wikipedia. The Wikipedia brand is not a goal to itself. Several others points in this job posting are also quite misleading: reading about "content strategy" and "Own Wikipedia's social footprint and digital strategy" after such an introduction, what will one understand?
