About the Wikimedia movement edit

Wikimedia is a network of diverse organisations, communities, initiatives and individuals that support Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia free knowledge projects. Our vision is a world in which every single human can freely share in the sum of all knowledge. We believe that everyone has the potential to contribute something to our shared knowledge, and that everyone should be able to access that knowledge freely. We operate Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects, build software experiences for reading, contributing, and sharing Wikimedia content, support the volunteer communities and partners who make Wikimedia possible, and advocate for policies that enable Wikimedia and free knowledge to thrive.

The Wikimedia CEE Hub is a work in progress, emanating from both the Wikimedia 2030 Movement Strategy Process and previous work in the CEE region. Wikimedia organisations and groups in the CEE region are not-for-profit civil society entities that rely on donations and grants.

At Wikimedia, we strive to maintain an equal opportunity workplace. We encourage people with a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences and lived realities to apply. We do not discriminate against any person based on race, sex, gender identification, sexual orientation, national origin, native language, religion, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Due to legal constraints, we might not be able to hire in all CEE countries. At this stage, the CEE hub is not equipped to offer visa support for relocation. We will let applicants know where legal constraints may apply.
