Wikimania translation will be exciting and demanding.

There will be hundreds of pages to translate for Wikimania : brochures, handouts, abstracts, full papers, workshop/presentation slides. We need everything translated into each of the official languages (at least English, German, French).

TodoEdit

RequirementsEdit

Interpreters : We will need 3-10 interpreters for the duration of the conference, including

  • real-time interpreters for the sessions in the main room.
  • multilingual interpreters to greet guests as they arrive on Thursday/Friday

Text translation: We will need translation of ~1,000 pages of text (~100,000 lines of 55 characters) into {English, German, French}. A subset of around 10 pages (instructions, directions, welcoming information, website content) will need to be translated into 10+ languages, perhaps {Arabic, German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Chinese}.

These will need to be translated ahead of the conference, between June and August.

Interested helpersEdit

Please list yourself below if you can help with Wikimania translation. See also the people who are already working on translating the Wikimania site, here and there!

CoordinatorsEdit

Coordinators should be able to read more than one language, and will need to be available for a significant stretch of time between June and the end of the conference.
