Internet Relay Chat (IRCs) are a popular off-wiki hangout of Wikipedians. #wikiconferenceindiaconnect is the official WikiConference India 2016 IRC Channel.
From time to time, the organizing community of WikiConference India 2016 will interact with each other through planned online IRC chat sessions. This generally comes with a set agenda. These sessions provide the community members the opportunity to discuss specific topics, ask questions, provide feedback & suggestions and share ideas during the session. The main objective of these interactions is to increase community participation by planning, interacting and implementing together.
Announcements for the date and time of chat are made on this page, the Wikimedia India Mailing list, Facebook Group, Facebook Page and Twitter.
How to participate edit
If you haven't used IRC before, it may be easiest to use a web client; this means you don't have to install any software on your computer. Just click here to join in, and then choose a username when prompted: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=wikiconferenceindia You may be prompted to click through a security warning. It's fine. Another option is used a Mozilla Firefox Browser Addon like Chatzilla
