OTRS volunteering

Hi. I just removed you from the OTRS volunteering list, and wanted to offer an explanation. In reviewing your contributions, I didn't see a lot of en:Wikipedia:Biographies of living people or en:Wikipedia:Copryight problems activity, which are two things we really need people to help out with. Also, this, while almost four months old, seems to me to be enough of a recent controversy that it seems to me to make sense to at least wait a while longer before taking on a responsibility that can sometimes involve use of admin tools. That said, your offer to help is very much appreciated, and we'll keep it in mind for the future. In the meantime, if you find yourself with time to help keep the project free of problems, en:Wikipedia:Biographies of living people/Noticeboard is a good way to find things that need the attention of experienced administrators. I am also a member of your mailing list now and I see that a person has said about being a Guarantor member and you being under the age of 16. Although I would need to look into it I can see where they are coming from when you are 16 you have to get your parents/carers to take on the mobile phone contract under their name because they are unable to pay the direct debit. One thing you should be careful with is the fact that you may entail some legal action if the Child (minor under 16) hasnt got consent from the parent and has just supplied you with the credit card information. You mean if someone gives their parent's card details? That would be fraud on their part and has nothing to do with them being a minor. I don't know what our liability would be in that case, we would probably have to return the membership fee but I can't see why we would be liable for anything more (but you're the lawyer so I'll yield to your expertise if you say otherwise). To start with, I would expect we'll only accept cheques and cash, setting up a merchant account in order to receive credit/debit card payments is something we haven't discussed yet and will probably take some time. I think the concern at the moment is whether the minor can agree to the £1 liability in the event that the company gets wound up (the "guarantee" part of "company limited by guarantee"), paying membership fees is another issue. --Tango 15:18, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Update the pretty picture

I stumbled upon some old discussions and looked at File:Fundraiser-by-country-2010-2011.JPG again. It would be wonderful if you released an update. Sadly I think that such information is no longer available in detail, because wmf:Fundraising reports have become much much less informative and there is generally more secrecy about fundraising; but at least for the main countries there is some information. --Nemo 09:59, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
