Hello. I am sad to hear the vandal did insulted you and your loved ones. In those cases, ignoring the vandal and seeking administrator assistance is the best thing to do in my opinion. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 22:14, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi! I'm seen, that You was restored default value at the 04.12.2018 with comment "rv. until phab:T205908 is fixed". And then bot was deleted this message at the 02.01.2019. I can’t view at the Fabricator what task this is - I don't have enough rights. This is fixed currently? --Kaganer (talk) 16:52, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

Kaganer, I've subscribed you to the ticket. Do you see it now? --Base (talk) 20:19, 14 October 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, Base. As you both can see, it is still not resolved :-( —MarcoAurelio (talk) 20:33, 14 October 2019 (UTC)
Ok. But then we should be migrate into "Commons way" for our Mainpage? In the Commons, by clicking on the project logo we go to localized version of Mainpage (with localized name), what a relevace to our interface language. I am don't remember, where this setting is. --Kaganer (talk) 22:45, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

hi.wikimedia isn't connected with CentralAuth, Can you fix? -- CptViraj (📧) 11:31, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

@CptViraj: It has been set up as a fishbowl wiki [5], so is not part of the standard login/SUL, and as such not part of CentralAuth. Resolution for such issues is through phabricator: and out of control of all but the developers.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:53, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
What Billinghurst said. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 12:29, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Uff, I didn't know that. Thanks both! -- CptViraj (📧) 12:35, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

This user has resumed harassing me at Wikinews after the 31 hour block ended. Please reblock. Thanks! Ohnoitsjamie (talk) 23:13, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

@Ohnoitsjamie. Sorry, that caught me while sleeping. I see Matiia handled the issue. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 10:14, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Beefing up character base for ccnorm

Looking at Special:AbuseFilter/examine/14287001 and remembering phab:T27619. If we start to get more spam and vandalism utilising this approach, I am wondering what scope their may be to building a better/extended list to mw:Extension:AntiSpoof/Equivalence sets. Also whether you know if there is a UTF equivalence list that we could leverage if we went to this sort of step.

@Platonides: If you have any wisdom or insightful to add, I would appreciate your comments.  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:11, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

Also noting that we have other shite like Special:AbuseFilter/examine/log/663900 for which I now have a specific filter, though is just butt ugly when I am just fumbling around with no knowledge of charsets, nor particular interest.  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:22, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
I'm not sure equivset would help. It prevents confusable characters, not different characters. I'd say we prohibit characters not used by any supported languages by MediaWiki. But that'd not be popular (you know, customising your signature is more important, etc. <irony>). —MarcoAurelio (talk) 09:04, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, well after today's spambots, yet again and with no change in approach over the past years, and … <shrug> Volunteerism … used, abused, spat out the end.  — billinghurst sDrewth 09:40, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
