Editing Comments
editPlease refrain from editing other people's comment, even though it is inaccurate, as in Just Sayori's nomination. The figure of 25 is accurate at the time the request was posted, and it satisfies the threshold for Steward to grant permission without asking the nomination to open for another while to see if there is a reasonable support. If there is a need to update, consider providing new comments.
Please note that your action on administrating things may be seen as a non-admin closure, but it should be pretty obvious that it can be closed summarily. Demanding answers on behalf of person responsible for review without authority to act yourself will not be seen favorably, and may confuse people involved. Thank you. --2001:44C8:470E:A1CB:42C1:79D3:78FD:9FAB 08:04, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
Please do not change status

It is guided as such because it has a significant impact on the steward's work. This edit blocks confirmation of progress regarding the creation of the private wiki account, and causes the pinged admin to find the archive to process it. Stewards have their own way of doing things, and if you arbitrarily adjust them, they can get in the way. And this is something you shouldn't do like this. The requestor wants the steward's decision, not yours. I think you probably know that this is not allowed. I hope this doesn't happen again. Thanks in advance for your understanding. --Sotiale (talk) 13:53, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Lookruk. If you continue arbitrarily marking steward requests, you will be blocked. Only stewards should be changing the status of, and determining the result of, steward requests. Non-stewards doing so is confusing for editors, and disruptive. Thank you :-) Vermont 🐿️ (talk) 02:08, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
User talk page protection
editHi Lookruk, regarding these questions [1]: It's not of my concern, but admin-only user talk page protection is very unusual. How are other users on that wiki supposed to contact you? Especially as you are a sysop people might need/want to write on your user talk page, e.g. to ask for help, so you might want to remove the protection. If there actually is vandalism, temporary protection on autoconfirmed-level might still do the trick. Johannnes89 (talk) 18:39, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
- Okay, I understand now. and I will remove the protection from my user talk page after I was have the admin flag. --Lookruk 💬 (Talk) 02:02, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
Queering Wikipedia 2023 conference
editWikimedia LGBT+ User Group and the organizing team of Queering Wikipedia is delivering the Queering Wikipedia 2023 Conference for LGBT+ Wikimedians and allies, as a hybrid, bilingual and trans-local event. It is online on 12, 14 and 17 May, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia #IDAHOBIT, with offline events at around 10 locations on 5 continents in the 5-day span as QW2023 Nodes.
The online program is delivered as a series of keynotes, panels, presentations, workshops, lightning talks and creative interventions, starting on Friday noon (UTC) with the first keynote of Dr Nishant Shah entitled: I spy, with my little AI — Wikiway as a means to disrupt the ‘dirty queer’ impulses of emergent AI platforms. Second keynote is at Sunday’s closure by Esra’a Al Shafei, Wikimedia Foundation’s Board of Trustees vice chair, entitled: Digital Public Spaces for Queer Communities.
If you have been an active Wikimedian or enthusiast, supporting LGBT+ activities or if you identify as part of the larger LGBT+ community and allies in Wikimedia, please join us in advancing this thematic work. We encourage you to join online or in person with fellow Wikimedians if it is easy and safe to do so. Our working languages are English and Spanish, with possible local language support at sites of Nodes.
Registration for the online event is free and is open until Wednesday May 10th at 18:00 UTC, for safety protocol. Late event registration approval and event access denial is at the discretion of organizers.
More information, and registration details, may be found on Meta at QW2023
