Is there a registration page in da:? BTW I think that bot flag is unnecessary yet. I'll not run bot automatically on da:. -- ChongDae 16:17, 27 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

We don't have a bot registration page, but two people from da: (I'm an admin) asking you to register ought to be adequate for the registration to be fulfilled.
It's not so much the bot as it is the added (yet easily avoidable) clutter to our recent changes list we're complaining about, so please register whether the bot will run automatically or not, or refrain from using it at all on da:.

Thank You

edit

I wanted to personally thank you for your help with translations during the fundraiser. I appreciate the work you put in, and we couldn't have done it without you. Thanks again - Deniz (WMF) 22:15, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Translator, We need you!

edit

Dear Kaare,

You have helped us in previous years with translations and for that we are most grateful. Now we turn towards the 2011/12 fundraiser. It may seem forever away, but work has already begun getting everything ready to go. This year we want to have landing pages covering as many countries in as many languages as possible.

Right now, we want to figure out who is interested in translating for the fundraiser. This year we're hoping to have more of a solidified "core" group of translators that we can count on to have work done by a few key dates, but we'd also welcome help from people who are willing to just help out when they can.

If you would be interested please take a look at this little sign-up survey and fill it out http://survey.wikimedia.org/index.php?sid=13638&newtest=Y&lang=en. With that we can start building a list of people and filling any gaps in the languages we serve.

Many Thanks

English/Danish translations

edit

Dear Kaare, I am contacting you to introduce myself. My name is Jessica Robell and I have recently joined the Wikimedia Foundation as a part of the fundraising team. My work will be focused to a large extent around translations. I am very interested in finding engaged Wikipedians, such as yourself, who would be interested in contributing with their time to translate shorter text from English to Danish. I am Swedish myself so I understand quite a lot of Danish but I am unable to write in Danish.. :) We have for example recently put up a 'Thank you letter' from the Wikimedia Foundation's ED Sue Gardner for translation, using the translation extension. You can find the letter here:https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-Fundraising%2FTranslation%2FThank+you+email+20131202&language=da&filter=translated&action=translate I would be most grateful to get your help to translate/proofread this letter in order to develop a quality translation in Danish.

Furthermore, in addition to using the translation extension, my aim is to develop a few personal contacts to whom I can reach out with potential questions regarding a particular word choice etc. As an engaged Wikipedia translator, I would be very interested in hearing your view on this. Thank you very much for your support. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards, Jessica Robell Global Fundraising Coordinator Jrobell (talk) 16:14, 31 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

To a degree, I can write in Swedish, but it takes a lot of effort. :-)
A week ago, I actually proofread the translation of the "Thank you" letter, but haven't otherwise been a very active translator lately.
Feel free to contact me here, via mail or IRC (same name as here) with any questions you might have in the future.

Dear Kaare, since you are an administrator on a wiki from which no user participated in this discussion, I'd like to make sure you are aware of some recent events which may alter what the Wikimedia Foundation lets you do on your wiki: Superprotect.

Old copy of ajax sysop

edit

Hello Kaare. While maintaining scripts I came across User:Kaare/ajax sysop copy.js, which is an outdated version of ajax sysop. Do you still need this page? Should it be updated to the latest version or deleted? —Pathoschild 19:22, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing; please delete that page. - Kaare (talk) 16:36, 23 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Global CSS/JS migration

edit

Hello Kaare. You have global scripts in User:Kaare/global.js, which you import using your local JS pages. Since August 2014, your global.js and global.css pages are loaded automatically on all wikis. Since you already import them yourself, you may experience script errors or tools being added twice. Do you want me to remove the global imports from your local pages using Synchbot (without changing any other content)? —Pathoschild 02:08, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

Yes, please, and thanks for noticing another problem with my scritps. - Kaare (talk) 17:48, 25 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Done! You can see the log on your archive page. —Pathoschild 18:47, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

Updated scripts

edit

Hi Kaare. I edited your common.js to update you to the latest version of ajax sysop, which has been updated for compatibility with the latest MediaWiki changes. I left it disabled since it was commented out, but it's ready if you ever want to re-enable it. :) —Pathoschild 09:25, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

No renaming between November 20 and November 27

edit

Hi,

You’re getting this because you’re a steward or global renamer. The Community Tech team are working on cross-wiki watchlists. We need to add a couple of fields to the localuser table in centralauth database. In order to be able to do this, we’d need to run a script that will get in the way of renaming users. Our apologies – we realize this is getting in the way of your work.

We ask that you do not rename anyone between 00:00 November 20 (UTC) and 00:00 November 27 (UTC).

(UTC means that if you live in the Americas, it will be on the evening or afternoon of November 19 when the script starts running, and if you live in Oceania or eastern Asia, it can be closer midday on November 27 before we can be sure the script is no longer running.)

Phabricator task.

If there are any problems related to this, or you have any questions, please write me on my talk page. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:42, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
